I think the Church has been a welcoming place for Burmese Refugees, who seem to be incorporated into the life of the church. Not quite sure what sort of Baptist Church it is. They also have Godly play for preschool age kids on Wednesday evening after their Wednesday dinners. The Church is not liturgical like Methodist, Catholic, or Episcopal churches. More liturgical than non-denominational churches I have been to.

Our Company chose a few programs throughout Hampton Roads and I chose coming to the Foodbank. What an eye-opener. Very organized, clean and offers a variety of volunteer spots for everyone. The back pack program for the kids is unbelievable but sadly not enough to feed all the hungry children. I felt so humbled by the entire program. The Capital Area food bank offers an invaluable service to the area providing food for families in need. With the tough economics times the country finds itself in, it was encouraging to be part of good works. It also brought an awareness of the circumstances that people end up in a blink of an eye. You end up seeing how big your coworkers hearts are when sweating is not a thing to them because making these food bags is more important.
