I called the FedEx customer service number - that goes overseas - Thursday night and the representative said, it's actively moving via GPS that he can see, and he suggested that I call back later in the evening before he opens a ticket.
I called the same number this morning and was told that I would be receiving an email with a claim number that I then need to click on the link and enter the claim number - AND MY PACKAGE WOULD BE DELIVERED TODAY! She advised that the email would be received in a few minutes.
About an hour later, I did receive an email from FedEx but it just stated:
"Thank you for contacting FedEx. We appreciate your business. We are researching your case regarding tracking number 771706530679. If you have received your package click here.

Please do not respond to this message. This email was sent from an unattended mailbox."
Called back just before 1 p.m. and spoke to another representative. She advised that my package is on a tractor-trailer and it would be delivered 'later than expected'. Not today and not tomorrow but maybe in a few days. She reassured me that the package is not 'lost', it's just 'missing'. She went on to state that it's winter and maybe weather is causing the delay (I have two kids at WVU - yeah, weather is not the issue this time around! - more lies!)
She advised that a ticket number has been created and they will research my inquiry and will get back to me by February 13, 2025!
I can't get my money back that I paid to ship the package, since it is not lost. It's just 'missing'.
I needed it to be delivered Wednesday, and I paid for 2nd day shipping. The items inside the package are needed tomorrow (Saturday) - so not only am I out the money spent to deliver the package, my kids will need to buy items to replace the items that are in that package!
Completely incomprehensible how packages are not capable of getting to where they need to be on-time - when that IS what was paid for!?!?
IMO, the people who deliver out of the big brown trucks are more reliable. ;) read more
