Driver left package at my neighbors back door but email update says left at my front door, really? So I call their 800 number and after an hour on the phone, the main depot picks up. This guy was a decent guy. He had the driver come back out.
My area is a dead end of sorts. You have to have a reason to be in this neighborhood. So the driver comes up and shows me the tracks in the dirt where the two wheeler was. The tracks were there but when I questioned him on the choice of delivering it, he looked at me like I just asked him the square root of something.
When you pull up in the drive, there are two mail boxes and a double stall garage. You can either go left (into the dirt) towards two separate sets of concrete patios complete with glass sliding doors, or, take the sidewalk to the right to the front doors which are labeled with house numbers. Needless to say, this driver choose the dirt path to the back yard.
Now the driver admitted he sat this 130 lb package where he did and never rang the bell or attempted to notify "me" that my package was here. I happened to check the tracking update online. The time frame between when it was scanned and "delivered" and the time I looked for it was a mere 25 minutes and I was home all day.
So I filed a police report and got a hold of FedEx & the shipper and filed claims with both. A 130 pound package in a medium box is not just walking away. How does a FedEx driver place a package at a place he did not confirm as the right place, make no attempt at resident notification and use an obvious back patio. There was also no sticker made out or placed anywhere.
I have complained to FedEx on multiple occasions because they almost always leave my package on my back patio (sometimes leaving a sticker) on the door but never ringing the doorbell. I have got to the point where if something is coming via FedEx, I just check out back from time to time.
Yet when I call they always say that that's not how they are suppose to do it. Well, that's how the do do it. Filling out complaints is pointless. They have changed nothing and this time it will cost FedEx because Khol's has all but guaranteed a new item when the investigation is over with. Unless Khol's is biting it but I don't see how they would given the complete negligence of the driver. The worst part is it could be 3 weeks before I get what FedEx screwed up on.
It basically comes down to this. Either the driver rolled an empty cart up to the back patio and rolled it away. The neighbor opened up their back patio and pulled it into their home. Or someone very very strong is habitually following the FedEx guy. For the trouble today and the past FedEx, you get 0 stars (if I could.) read more
