I ordered 3 bare root crab apples. 5 foot + tall trees arrived with excellent root structure. They are the best bare root fruit trees I've ever received from online nurseries. Very happy with the order. Previous orders from other nurseries usually are short twigs of a tree and poor root development. I'm sorry I didn't know about Fedco earlier. As with most online nurseries, you receive a receipt of purchase and don't hear from them for months until the season dictates that the items ship. read more

Purchased a good number of chestnut and walnut trees last year. About half showed up dried out. They supposedly guaranteed them, but asked me to send photos, which we did. We're a tree farm. Then they said call back in the spring which we just did and was told we didn't do a scratch test last year. So no replacements. Not a id company in our opinion. We'll go elsewhere for our trees. read more

Beware! They will send you last years seeds and put a new sticker on top of the date to scam you. This is especially important on herb seeds as they are only vital for a year so receiving 2 year old seeds is not good! If they want to sell old seeds, they need to tell you on the website and offer a discount! I haven't gotten any of my herb seeds to germinate and stratification of the seeds does not help either, but since they sent me 2 year old seeds, I am not surprised. My other herb seeds (from another vendor) have all germinated. As for vegetable seeds, the germination is below average. My seeds from another vendor have done much better. Just beware that this company has slowly gone in the toilet over the years, they used to be good several years back. I will not be purchasing from them anymore. Have bought many sseds, trees and seed potatos from fedco, The seeds have all been top quality, have bought 35ish packs of all sizes, grown orcanic, never had a bad batch. The trees were very well rooted and none died, The pototoes, I had a bad batch of -all blue- seed potatoes, the rest grew well! The cataloge is an interesting read, tips and stories abound! A fantastic resource for farmers and gardeners. They work really hard to find strains of plants that are genetically diverse and hardy. The growers supply has great natural products for a variety of needs. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. My only wish is that they were a shorter drive away and open more days. read more

This used to be a very good seed company. I purchased seeds from Fedco a few weeks ago. Seed delivery was prompt. Beans had excellent germination. Beets around 50%. Carrots less than 10%. I requested a refund and got part of the carrot seed money back. I depend on these seeds since I already have a buyer for my carrots. This really hurts my income for the fall. This is good incentive for salving ones own seed. read more
