This was the best project in our home! From the beginning of the design phase with Bob coming out and getting the initial design idea, to visiting the showroom to discuss materials, colors and options, we were amazed at the knowledge in functionality, availability and fit for our new kitchen. Bob was able to design the kitchen to use every space, making suggestions to make it better and, most important, not making a bad choice in design. This came from many years of experience! We meet with Fred, the owner, and Bob at the house initially to go over the final plans before things got rolling. Fred and Bob were at the job many times, meeting with the construction crews, solving small construction issues and keeping the schedule rolling. All of the construction crews were professional. Prompt, knowledgeable, and very good at what was done. Never was anything left over, no need to call back to finish something and everything was cleaned along the way. Nothing overlooked. Fred was sure to keep on schedule and there was very little downtime between stages. Fred even came in to work on a part of the project, which shows how he cares about your project. My wife was the lead point of contact for this job and the communication between her and the company was excellent. Always a phone call, email or text. Never any surprises. The fact that I was able to come home and see the progress everyday and discuss what was happening made for a good experience. The budget was spot on and any extras that were required were priced fairly. Because you always find 1 or 2 small details when the project is ongoing! I would recommend them highly to any of our friends or anyone looking for the kitchen of a lifetime. They took pictures along the way which we've encouraged them to share. They're amazing! Thanks again to Fred, Bob, Teresa and the whole crew for an incredible job. We're already discussing our next project with you guys! Thanks again! Chris & Magdalena Marsh read more

I don't quite know where to begin, so let's start at the beginning. We met with Bob pre-Covid and got ideas and had him measure to build a proposal for a cabinet/countertop remodel for our home. He was very professional and obviously an experienced salesman/designer. We came up with a nice plan for cabinets, sink and expanded island (with peninsula). We went "on hold" due to Covid, but revisited and contracted in October. RED FLAG #1- FDR required a 60% deposit at the contract signing and PAYMENT IN FULL for each portion of the job as it proceeds. (When the cabinets are delivered-payment in full is due before installation. Countertop doesn't come off the truck before they're paid in full for that portion). I've learned from past experience to ALWAYS keep a meaningful hold-back to "incentivize" a contractor to complete a job . No hold-back, no leverage to complete in a timely manner. Without writing a novel, suffice it to say that I had many issues with their subs and their own installers. Every step of the way, I had to call their "scheduler and logistics person" Teresa numerous times to get on a schedule for install and/or repair of errors. Emails and return phone calls late night, on weekends to arrange for NEXT MORNING arrivals. Cabinet installers working on a Sunday to "keep on schedule", electricians at the job at 8pm, so as not to delay the plumber (who had to be called back three times to complete the work without leaks or errors). An extended disagreement regarding the support and appearance of our oversized quartz peninsula that finally was resolved. We had to be that never-ending "squeaky wheel" to get the job completed to our satisfaction. I was fortunate enough that they had made a small error and I owed them a l balance towards the end , or the job may have taken even longer than the two additional months that it had already overrun. The communication with "scheduling" was horrible. At times bordering on rude and belittling. I must say, however that all issues which we took up with ownership or our designer were quickly addressed. The completed project? It looks great and we're very happy with the final result. There were times where I felt that I was paying for a general contractor but doing the lion's share of supervision and quality control on my own. We decided to skip their tile services for the backsplash. We saved about 1/3 the cost by purchasing the tile on our own and hiring a "tile guy". Would we use them again? Possibly, as the work was more than acceptable when it was finally completed. I would certainly require a different payment structure, as well as some built-in scheduling guarantees and/or penalties if not adhered to. read more

We hired FDR to remodel our kitchen. The job was on time and on budget. I feel like we lucked out hiring them as we are new to the area and don't know anyone here. These guys are for real . read more

In 2010 FDR Contractors did a whole house remodel for us. Approximately 8 years later the tiles in the master shower were falling off the wall. Contacted FDR to come up to the house but never came. Was told that I should have notified them within one year of construction. It was 8 years later when tiles fell off. In addition, the entire job was unprofessional and sloppy. Top notch contractor that made the entire remodeling process effortless. We were in the market to remodel our kitchen and master bathroom and met with 10+ companies before meeting with the team at FDR. The sales reps were extremely knowledgeable about the different materials and scheduling was super convenient. Can't wait until the holidays until we get to do our downstairs bathroom. Thanks again guys! read more

Great service and quality work! Fred and Diane did an amazing job explaining their process and accommodating our taste. We are very picky in our designs and found that FDR was able to accommodate our every need. They offer a great showroom with fabulous products. I highly recommend using them. read more

Said they would finish the job in 3 weeks. Not finished after 4.5 months. Sloppy. Careless. Slow. Smokers. Liars.

FDR Contractors recently installed tile, carpet, new cabinets and countertops in my home. Their showroom has everything we needed and we didn't have to go anywhere else. Thanks to their in house designer who helped me pick it all out, they were so patient with me and I never felt rushed. They thoroughly went over every detail of the job with us. All of their employees were courteous and clean. They did an amazing job!!! If you want good quality work then this is where you need to go. Susan & Jim C. read more

I've worked with many contractors on large and not-so-large remodeling projects, and FDR is at the very top of the heap. Fred, Diane, Bob, and the entire FDR team helped realize my vision for an open-concept coastal home. Creative and practical, they exceeded my (admittedly high) expectations, and brought the project in on time and on budget. I would work with them again in a heartbeat. read more

We are so pleased with FDR Contractors. After going to four other contractors we walked into Florida Custom Cabinets and met Diane. She was great in every way. I immediately knew that I wanted to do business with this company. Diane knew the product and understood my needs. Diane helped us with granite and told me what to look for as far as quality. FDR is a family owned business so I met her husband Fred and daughter Teresa. Teresa kept in touch with me by text messages every step of the way. The job started when we wanted, the installers were here on time and did a great job. Everything was neat and cleaned up when they left. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a stress free job. DL read more

Would never recommend this company. Kitchen remodel that was outrageous expensive with low quality work, sloppy, liars and never completed their work. I have never been so disappointed in a company. They also own Florida Custom Surfaces. Stay away from these so called Contractors. read more

We had the pleasure of building 2 custom homes with FDR. We would highly recommend them to anyone that is shopping around and looking to build, remodel there home, or kitchen. What builders consider upgrades come standard with FDR Contractors. The owners work with you to custom build the home you like within the budget given. We didn't have any surprises at the end of the job what they quoted is what we paid and we couldn't be happier. They made what we felt was going to be stressful, seamless and fun. Thank you so much for all you have done for us and our family we absolutely love the work you have done and wish you all the best! read more

I called asking to have someone come out and assess the damage of my botched floor job. I stated I was willing to pay for their time to assess the damages. Ron asked if I wanted them to do any of the work. I stated at this time we're not interested in hiring any company to do any work to our home because we need to recover the money before we move forward with hiring a coming. Simply it's not in our budget. We spent $4000 dollars on a bad floor job and were left with a bad floor and over $2000 dollars in damages. That is why we had to hire a contractor to assess the damages in order to receive a partial refund so we can afford to hire another company. When he called back he said that he cannot provide an assessment because we are not hiring the company for any work. I proceeded to tell him that at the moment we don't want to hire his company but I have a whole kitchen and family room that needs to be re-tiled and he said he can provide an assessment for $250 contingent on hiring his company. Obviously this guy doesn't care about taking care of people and building a business relationship. He is simply there to overcharge people for nothing. Had someone from the company come out and seemed knowledgable and caring I would use this company however since this company doesn't have the business sense to build a relationship they will not get any business from me. I was obviously hiring this company to recover money to fix the problem. Obviously he didn't see this as an opportunity to capitalize on business and make us feel like we're in good hands. read more
