Lots of custom…read morecabinets, we raised ceiling, relocated the HVAC, reframed certain walls & doors, but they got it all done to our satisfaction. Ken the owner was very attentive to our job. Covid slowed the job down but that is beyond his control. The Dorian Team were very respectful of our neighbors in the association, that was very important. They were clean, quiet, and overall we had very few concerns. They need to keep a punch list going and plan the next phase a bit more carefully. We will hire them again. They are priced fairly. They will stand behind their work. They are good decent people who care about their customer. Thank you Dorian Team! A job well done!

We hired Ken Dorian (Dorian Construction) to do a complete gut renovation of our 2 bedroom, 2…read morebathroom condo. The experience was very frustrating, surprising and disappointing. We would not recommend Dorian Construction and would never do business with Ken Dorian in the future. Ken's price came somewhere in the middle of 3 quotes. He seemed like an easy guy to work with and assured us that he did great work and that we'd be happy. We read reviews and all were positive. Unfortunately, our experience was negative! Ken surprised us soon after the project began with an "up charge" in the amount of $20,000 via email with no explanation, no advance notice, no conversation. Eventually, we were told it was for extra electrical work. Importantly, the job took way too long too! We always expect delays when it comes to construction projects but not like what we experienced with Dorian Construction. We live out of town and were not at the job site more than monthly but since Ken promised us he'd be there every day, we thought we would be kept in the loop. We were wrong. We constantly had to reach out to Ken because we never heard from him. Countless times, he didn't return calls, texts or emails. Everything was always on his schedule, not ours. We were 1,300 miles away and were forced to track him down because he didn't keep us apprised of what was going on during critical times during the project. That's when mistakes were made. The incorrect bath tile began to be installed, the kitchen cabinet install had damage, the fridge cabinet door was installed incorrectly, the range hood vent never happened, to name a few. The quality of his subs was average. The tile work was sloppy and we still have an area of the wall in a bathroom that is jetting out. Kitchen cabinets are scratched, there is damage to floor tile. Just not what we expected based on Ken's continuing reassurance that everything was going smoothly. Ken is not a builder. He is a project manager, and a "hands off" one at best. Our clear sense is that he has too many projects going on at once (even his subs alluded to that). In reading the previous reviews it's clear that our project was more involved. He told us he did our type of project every day so we had confidence that it would be a smooth process. We were wrong! We typically don't write reviews but it'sespecially important to share when the experience is bad.

First, they, (unlike many other roofing businesses in the area) we're responsive in getting back to me and scheduling time to come out. I received a quote which I thought was competitively priced and detailed plan. They came out on time, completed the work in a timely manner and frankly saved me from more damage and money by completing it before the next rainy season. They also guaranteed their work for a year! I highly recommend using them. It was a pleasure dealing with Jr and the team, you get the feeling that they take pride in their work and don't treat you like just another customer like some do. I felt like i was in good hands and they cared about my home and personalized service.

From start to finish, Island Kitchen and Baths was fantastic! My parents have a lot of experience with home kitchen designs, flooring etc. over the years and this experience was hands down the best experience they had with any designer and company. From the beginning of the process, Larkin was extremely consultative in his approach. He met with my parents frequently at his office and at their condo. He exceeded their expectations with his ideas for design and had the ability to incorporate any idea which they wanted into his plans. He always made it happen but also advised if it was not possible. Their kitchen is absolutely stunning with colorful two toned white and blue cabinets, gorgeous quartz countertops, stainless steel Wolf appliances with beautiful hardwood floors. The attention to detail to the custom cabinetry designed by Larkin is outstanding. He truly went above and beyond when designing. In addition, his team opened up a wall creating beautiful open space and adding a lot of lighting. The kitchen truly looks like it belongs in a magazine! Absolutely beautiful! Larkin was extremely responsive and always made himself available. He does not hire outside contractors and has his own staff for nearly everything. Every single person was excellent, extremely neat and timely. My parents were extremely satisfied with the quality of work. Nothing was ever a problem to the entire staff. They went above and beyond to get the kitchen and floors completed. If any delays or issues did arise, Larkin was on it immediately and resolved quickly. I highly recommend Larkin and his team for any custom kitchen work. They made the process as painless as possible, were a pleasure to work with and created a dream kitchen!
