There were only 3 gals working the entire time taking care of cooking and bartending and waiting on everyone in the estaishment. Definitely efficient and friendly staff. We ordered drinks and breakfast. Both were quickly served. My breakfast burger was delicious with layers ofhashbriwns and eggs and bacon and a burger. The diced potatoes were also great. My partner had the meat lovers omlette and was very happy with the entire meal. My only complaint is the price of the state fair lemonade (vodka lemonade) was 8.50$ which a typical vodka lemonade or cranberry is 6$. However it was delicious and the prices in this area are just typically higher than other areas so I do understand. I'd definitely go back again for food & drinks!

We stopped for their Tuesday night Burger Special...which left me wondering why we weren't going there every Tuesday night for burgers! I ordered a Burger (of course - see picture) and was thoroughly impressed with it! Usually when you ask for a medium rare burger, it is brought out medium well to well done. Not only was the burger excellent (a little beyond medium rare, but at least some heavy pink in the middle), but the bun and the lattice fry sides were all delicious! Unfortunately, I gave up alcohol for Lent...so didn't have a beer with the burger - but you can bet that I'll be back for both after Easter! I ordered the Monte Cristo which is a deep fried ham and Swiss sandwich that comes with a spicy strawberry jam. Omg, this was amazing and was like eating a fresh fried donut sandwich! Be cautioned though, the strawberry jam is no joke. It was very spicy but good. My wife ordered the grilled chicken with a honey and goat cheese topping that she thought was incredible as well. Her side was a spicy cream corn that is much like a Mexican street corn and was excellent. I had the Italian pasta salad and it was just as good. Other members of our party tried the French dip and an asiago cheese chicken sandwich. They raved about their sandwiches as well. Lastly, our server was a young blonde girl that kept the drinks flowing and provided amazing service. We were here on a Thursday for dinner and they had $2 cans of beer of some of the 80's greats like Hamms, Little Kings and even Montucky. If you are ever in the Des Moines Iowa area, definitely stop here to eat!

We started with tasty fried mushrooms with parm dipping sauce, which I saved for my tater tots. The portion is small. Beers were cold & reasonably priced. I had a Cuban with my tots. It was good--heavy on the ham. I took 1/2 home. Hubby had the hot honey chicken sandwich. He liked it. His mashed potatoes were dry so he didn't eat them. Friend thought the hot honey chicken was too spicy--hotter than the description. She said she would not order it again. She thought the pasta salad was homemade and it was fine. Her hubby had the French dip sandwich and said it was delicious! It ranks right up there as other French dip sandwiches he has loved. The waiter checked in on us several times. It's a fun place with a good vibe. Pay attention to the specials each day of the week and stop in if you're in the neighborhood.

We are told it used to be a bank, but we checked the vault and sadly no money was left there for us... There are multiple entrances to use - Front, back side... It looks like the locals use the front, and the band lovers use the other doors...just an observation. The bar is very large and double sided which makes it super accessible There is lots of seating and entertainment to be had. Darts, and Pool tables and televisions - they move the pool tables aside and cover them so the band can play and so there is more dance floor. They respectfully shut the music off and the TVs down while the band plays too - nice touch! We were able to walk up to the bar and get nicely priced drinks served very quickly despite how busy they were. All of the employees were very friendly and accomodating. Food looks like it is limited to the frozen pizza, but hey better than nothing. (There are multiple options just outside the front door if you want other food) The place is large and there is pent of room to accomodate a large crowd, and still room to dance! (Maybe next time) It is still obvious it used to be a bank, but it works for a bar. They should turn the Vault into a VIP room! We will keep an eye out for our favorite bands playing here. PRO TIP: Conveniently enough you can also get here using only back roads.
