Southshore Family Dentistry BILLED MY UNITED HEALTHCARE MEDICARE AARP PLAN $2915 FOR A CROWN AND FILLING AND PULP CAP THAT I NEVER RECEIVED!!!!! Allowed amount was $1894. Amount paid was $1062!!!!! PATIENT RESPONSIBILITY IS $832 FOR SOMETHING I NEVER HAD DONE!!!!!!!!! This is a LOW and NASTY thing to do to anyone and especially someone on social security disability income ONLY!!!! I told these people NO and they tried everything to get me to go into debt to get a crown that I don't even think I need done. As a new resident to Michigan City , I had trouble finding a dentist with availability.  Now I know…read morewhy I could get an appt with Aspen.  I thought I would get a standard cleaning/check up but only had a check up - they had 2 people try to upsell me on Invisalign.  My teeth are 98% straight.  Additionally, I asked after the Xrays they were taking and wanted to confirm I was due per my insurance (I didn't think I was).  My recent statement of benefits shows my insurance will not cover.  I'll stick with local dentist from here on out.
