The cocktail menu looked great but I didn't bother ordering a cocktail and instead asked what kind of white wine he had and then he proceeded to tell me all wine is wet (???) and then spent 5 minutes trying to find Sauvignon blanc and came back with Pinot Grigio. Which is exactly why I asked what he had so I didn't have to wait any longer I'm excited to come back for other events there and hopefully get in the better bartender line!

And that isn't easy with a demanding Jewish mother, a southern dad with slow to warm preferences, and busy high powered professional bride and groom with demanding jobs in New York City! Here are just some of the things we appreciated about our experience with you: all our questions were answered in a timely fashion (even tiny details like how tall is the awning on the deck in case we have to put the chuppa there), the play fields were in excellent condition even after a miserable winter, the star gazing at observatory was inspiring, the food was consistently delicious and presented beautifully (delighting even the hard to please cousins from NYC), rooms throughout the site were clean and inviting, all amenities provided and beautiful views from all of rooms, service was outstanding at every moment and, of course, you even did a great job on the weather. You all think of every detail and guided us with gentle awareness whenever we were floundering or headed in the wrong direction. You all were flexible and understanding and just fun to work with. Erin, you were amazing at your meticulous attention to detail in planning and George you were a reassuring and helpfully guiding voice even in the most intense moments of the weekend. The whispering pine staff was very friendly and on top of everything, they did an amazing job taking care of the wedding party and all of the guests. The food was some of the best I have ever eaten at a wedding; appetizers included grilled pizzas, scallop wrapped bacon, coconut shrimp, mini ribs, and a plethora of tasty cheeses and fruits. The dinner was buffet which included steaks, flounder stuffed with shrimp, lobster, and scallops, pasta, grilled vegetables, fresh breads, etc... They topped it off with a variety of fresh desserts which included amazing chocolate covered cherries and lemon cake to name a few. Party Planning Seekers Beware!…read more Family hosted a party for my dad's 70th birthday. The owner of the establishment showed up 30 minutes before the party started, insisting that he sets up whatever was left. The kitchen and bar were extremely dirty and when we attempted to help the owner, he spoke in a condescending tone. Before all guests were served, the owner and his son made several to go plates, without asking if everyone had been served and loaded them into their car. He used a curtain to keep party planners out of the bar/kitchen area so that he could run the bar (I see no problem with this). But in doing this, the kitchen remained inaccessible to party attendees and the owner constantly hid in a side room leaving the bar empty as well. After walking into the side room to request assistance, the owner turned to his son and stuck up his middle fingers in regard to what I was asking for not realizing I could still see him. Overall a horrible experience and if I could give zero stars I would.

The main floor is large enough to handle substantial expos and trade shows without feeling compressed, and the configuration adapts well to different event types. I have seen the venue host everything from Comic Con and car shows to cheer competitions, volleyball tournaments, flight simulation expos, and oddities markets, and the flexibility of the space is a genuine operational strength. Restrooms are well placed throughout the building, and cleanliness was consistently maintained even during the high attendance event I attended. Staff were helpful and visible, which mattered when I was navigating a large event for the first time. The downtown Providence location works in the venue's favor for most visitors. Hotels are walkable, local restaurants are accessible, and the surrounding neighborhood is well maintained. Getting into the parking garage can be confusing given the highway interchanges nearby, so arriving with that in mind and allowing a few extra minutes is sensible. For events in the New England region, it is a reliable and comfortable venue that tends to handle logistics well.

After competing, we would all walk over to do some shopping. The convention center itself is pretty large, I'd say. I definitely have gotten lost a few times when trying to find the right rooms to go to. I always enjoyed going to events here. Very spacious and never had any issues. For parking, there are street parking spots, which I prefer since it avoids the parking garage fee but parking garage is always convenient.

The Pawtucket Armory is a historic armory building at 172 Exchange Street in Pawtucket. I have…read moreattended several special events and talks throughout the years and the space is ample and well preserved. Being an older building in a busy urban area, parking is a bit of an issue. I wish they had a parking garage built close to it, so people can enjoy the venue and focus on the event, instead of having to deal with parking. One of the major works of William R. Walker & Son, this building was built in 1894-5. Built of red brick with granite and limestone trim, it has a distinctive main block, with crenellated towers at the corners, and is prominently sited near Pawtucket's central business district. From 2005 to 2010, the armory housed the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts. It is currently home to the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center. Every holiday season, they have their Holiday Crafts show that draws hundreds. The armory was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

I was here for the first time during the RI Brew Fest. The large interior allowed for many vendors and partons alike. The one drawback is the facilities - bathrooms are an issue here, so with large crowds, that presents quite a problem. Parking, while available, isn't nearly as ample as the space itself, so that's another reason why I've docked it one star. However, I truly love this place and can't wait to host my own event here someday.
