They have a huge balcony that overlooks the river and a ground level patio that walks right out to the river boardwalk. We were able to enjoy Providence's Water Fire with private, front row seats. It was a priceless experience Despite all of that, the interior spaces are very, very small and oddly shaped, making it very hard to move during an event. It also makes it very difficult for the staff to maneuver in between tables, causing a major traffic jam when it comes to meal time. I'm not sure what happened when we were there, but there were MAJOR delays and mix ups during our event. So much so that the wait staff actually forgot to serve our entire table. By the time the realized this, they served us ice cold food that was over cooked, over salted, and actually inedible. The hosts of our event tried to correct it by offering to comp our table a round of drinks. But at that point we were all so disappointed and turned off by the entire experience that we all decided to leave two hours before the end of the event. Skyline at Waterplace has the potential to be incredible. But until they make some major changes, it's not a place I can recommend.

In the 90s there was easy to use POS tech to do separate checks. And then they added gratuity (without telling us or noting it anywhere) so the bit about how people don't right with separate checks was uncalled for. There is zero chance I'll ever go back here. The interior walls of the first floor are constructed of hand-finished wood panels, the original floors are maple, and details such as beveled mirrors and an emerald green tiled fireplace lend a formal and elegant air to the surroundings. Upstairs, the Ballroom was used in the old days for special social events, especially during the '30's and '40's. That is where our event was held and it was a really roomy space. Loved the well kept hardwood floors and the plaster friezes and frescoes of cherubs and musical instruments that adorn the 20-foot ceilings. This grand room, with its birch floors, is painted in warm, rosy tones to evoke a sense of well being, a priority during the "Gay Nineties". At night, it is nicely lit up.

My wife and I went here over the weekend for here college reunion. The function space used to be…read morethe old Trio and for the amount of people (~100), it was cramped. Both rooms were difficult to navigate with everyone so close to one another and it was hard to walk past the bars because there were large waste bins on the ends and people would collect there to throw their bottles away. The event had a 4-hour open bar with only one bartender per bar. From what my wife and I could tell, the two bartenders were the only employees there. This proved to be a major problem because if the bartender needed something that wasn't stocked at their station or had to walk the space to clear tables, they would have to leave the bar completely unmanned. There were a lot of times that patrons would get behind the bar and take bottles from the shelves and when the bartenders came back, they'd pretty much shrug it off and continue to serve. One bar was for beer and wine, the other for cocktails. The cocktail line was always busy and the bartender couldn't keep up with demand, typically not remembering who had ordered first. From what I was told by other patrons, the drinks were quite weak. I stuck to hard cider and beer solely because the line was faster. But every time I wanted a Guinness, the bartender would leave the bar to go and get it from somewhere else. Luckily the event was only four hours long and my wife and I didn't stay through the whole thing. What's so concerning is that the management didn't think to staff properly and created a liability for themselves.

All the food provided and cooked by All-star Chef Octavio Gomes was fantastic. I worked with Octavio for some time at the Venus de Milo so I know his work is nothing but the best! Hall is very spacious and we were able to bring in a good capacity of people even within the midst of COVID restrictions. Party Planning Seekers Beware!…read more Family hosted a party for my dad's 70th birthday. The owner of the establishment showed up 30 minutes before the party started, insisting that he sets up whatever was left. The kitchen and bar were extremely dirty and when we attempted to help the owner, he spoke in a condescending tone. Before all guests were served, the owner and his son made several to go plates, without asking if everyone had been served and loaded them into their car. He used a curtain to keep party planners out of the bar/kitchen area so that he could run the bar (I see no problem with this). But in doing this, the kitchen remained inaccessible to party attendees and the owner constantly hid in a side room leaving the bar empty as well. After walking into the side room to request assistance, the owner turned to his son and stuck up his middle fingers in regard to what I was asking for not realizing I could still see him. Overall a horrible experience and if I could give zero stars I would.

Not sure if I had to pay for that but I didn't ask and he didn't ask for payment so I tipped him instead.
