Great place where to grab a Bocadillo de Jamón if it is not possible to find a place in a restaurant due to the too many tourists. For EUR 3.90 I had a big Bocadillo with a lot of some very good Jamón. Good value for your money. read more

I tried 2 items from here: an empanada with olives and ground beef, and a sandwich that is typical in Salamanca: the hornazo. I thought the empanada was alright, but nothing too special. I liked that they included olives for an extra burst in flavor. But, the empanada itself was very dry. Both the meat and bread were super dry and crumbly. Would have been nice if there was some sort of sauce to go with it, but there wasn't. The hornazo just really didn't sit well with me. It was extremely fatty and the meat was very chewy. The bread was also thick (a lot thicker than the empanada) but still quite crumbly. It was just far too fatty for me personally but if you are big on fatty meat and pork, then you may enjoy it. This place also serves some regional cheese and meats individually packaged near the place where you pay, and those all looked pretty nice, although a bit expensive. All in all, a decent spot to get meat. I personally was not a huge fan of the meat or the bread, but if you enjoy very fatty meat, you might like it.
