You can get good pics of the bridge and river at the bottom. The people that hang around there not so much.

We entered from Porter st & McKenna ave.

Beautiful bridge to take photos on. We took photos of my son's kindergarten graduation here and they turned out great. Definitely recommend if you want a pretty background

Beautiful views! Go watch that sun go down!

The Faust Street Bridge is one of New Braunfels best kept secrets! My family and I have been frequenting this bridge for years, the views are breathtaking! People watching is the best here because you have a perfect view of boaters, unlucky fishermen, and all the river life(turtles are abundant). Here are some reasons you should make the Faust Street Bridge a priority: *Nice spot for a first date *Start your runs/jogs/walks here and make your way downtown *FSB has a fantastic view of the New Braunfels Fireworks shows *Prime location for an outstanding photo-graduations/quinceañeras/weddings Round up your hyna/vato and get to that bridge!

The bridge is a beautiful walk over water, and there was plenty of parking to access the bridge. I am not sure how safe this would be to visit at night due to the variety of people congregating on the bridge in the afternoon.

I was curious after seeing a bridge listed as one of the things to do in the area at our hotel. Located just outside historic downtown New Braunfels, is Faust Street Bridge. It is not within walking distance, and when driving to the bridge you will feel like you are driving into the middle of nowhere suburbia. It looks like the bridge was part of a restoration of a historic section of town, as there was an event center you could rent, and a couple of historic buildings as part of a "historic district area". The pedestrian bridge is unique and beautiful itself, it's not just any bridge. Definitely take a few moments to walk out on the bridge as the view of the Guadalupe river is amazingly peaceful.

Beautiful views, limited parking. There are paths down to the river where you can lounge, swim or fish.

Beautiful place by the Guadalupe River, we hiked around the area on a beautiful summer afternoon and really enjoyed it.

Such a nice walking bridge. I'm afraid of heights and this is the first suspension bridge God showed me how he could take the fear.

I just love strolling through Gruene. I know a lot of the businesses here are geared towards…read moretourists. However, most of them are small business owners and need to be supported. The fact that there is a huge, free parking lot in town makes things a lot easier for getting in and out of the historic district. Can you believe this little German enclave has been around since the 19th century? So much to do here from the antique shops and boutiques to restaurants, general store, and let's not forget legendary Gruene Hall (oldest dance hall in Texas). It's a great place for locals and tourists alike. So much history and just a great way to spend a day.

I've been here twice so far, as a stop between San Antonio and Austin. Both times were during the…read moreafternoon, on a weekend, when it is predominantly a tourist attraction. The historic Gruene Hall was the main draw for me, which is mainly a place to be a spectator of live music, while having a drink or dance. McConauhaze (by Twisted X Brewing Company in Dripping Springs) is the hazy IPA that I enjoyed from the bar. I'd love to return for the evening entertainment from Sunday through Friday. Especially for swing dancing on Tuesdays, and two-step on Thursdays--both nights start with an optional dance lesson for $12. Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar is very good, but lacks vegan options. El Chingón IPA (by Four Corners Brewing in Dallas) is the Texas beer that I enjoyed here. Gruene Grove is a nice outdoor patio to take in some live music and grab a drink from the bar, but they don't let you enter or leave with your drink. I had the bartender make a "black and tan" for me by blending a stout and pale ale on tap from local breweries. I was eager to enjoy the Italian-style bratwurst from Wurst in Gruene, but they were out of the Beyond brat option. The Grapevine is a good beer and wine bar that opens to an outdoor patio with stage and live music. Sputnik Russian Imperial Coffee Oatmeal Stout (by Austin Beerworks) is the draft beer that I enjoyed here. It was nice to be able to walk around freely with it (which I even took with me into Gruene Hall). Hunter Road is full of unique shops to buy apparel, souvenirs, edibles, drinks, and other boutique specialties. The names of small businesses get carried away with a play on words, using the fact that Gruene is pronounced "green." Examples include The Gruene Haus, The Gruene Olive Tasting Room, Gruene with Envy, Red & Gruene Holiday Shop, and The Gruene Door. Other silly names include Tipsy Gypsy and Fickle Pickles. I look forward to experiencing more here in the future.

At the time, I thought it was a small train museum and I didn't go in. Fast forward a couple of months later, when I visited with my niece and nephew. I was charmed and impressed. There are two trains at the museum that showcase travel at the turn of the century. They are furnished and have lifelike figures to model the train conductor and other train workers. Children and adults can go into the wagons and manipulate some of the trains objects. In the main building itself, there are items that would have belonged to the trains. The Museum also has three model toy trains, that probably took years to build. The modelers were very friendly. One even put on a train conductor hat when he saw we were taking pictures. It was so entertaining and unexpected. On certain days, they also let children "drive" the model toy trains. My niece and nephew loved it and they are both older children, so I imagine younger children would really enjoy the museum. Best part...it is completely affordable. They only ask for a $3 donation, per person, but not obligatory. Although, we gladly paid since it is a great place to spend some hours exploring. It is a working train station, so we also got to see some trains drive by.
