hair after first keratin treatment. clearly incorrectly applied
    C B.

Integrity. Honesty. Accountability. These are all basic attributes a business should have, especially when dealing with something as sensitive as hair. This salon seriously LACKS all 3. Credit where credit is due, but also accountability where accountability is due. The stylist completely mishandled my keratin treatment by neglecting to use the product properly. My hair was left stiff and dry. After talking to another stylist/owner and confirming with the MANUFACTURER, it was clear the product was mishandled and incorrectly applied. They offered a redo, which was the bare minimum. The stylist even admitted she doesn't like doing keratin treatments and removed it from her card. The service should have been reassigned to someone else when I requested an appointment. Terrible management, miscommunication nightmare. Proceed with extreme CAUTION if you care about your hair at all!

This is one star review is for Amanda and the person who replaced her. I booked/requested a consult online with her on a Sunday. She never bothered to respond in time and blew me off about it when I asked her in person (I had to call the salon prior and they said just to come in). I then waited nearly 15 min for my consult (with 2 staff telling her I was waiting), only getting her attention when I asked if she would be able to see me. She said to come back in 30 min, and when I did, she was nowhere near being done! In fact, she kept working with her same client for another 40 mins. So instead of even addressing me in person when I came back, Jenna was offered as a replacement. I told her that I wanted a modern bob with longer bangs, and also that I wanted to keep my length as much as possible (my hair hit just below my chin). We even looked at picture together. In the end, my hair was chopped to about half an inch below my ears!! What alarmed me was that she cut my hair initially wet, blew it dry with a round brush (presumably to style it) and the result was uneven. She then went back in with a flatiron to straighten my hair as much as possible to dry cut it (I know that dry cutting is a technique for certain hairstyles). The end result was flatter and more even, but she ended up taking off way too much length. The bottom is also bulky and thick. I look like I have the cut on an old woman or someone in the military. All of this just for $85!! Bobs are classic and really popular right now - how could a stylist at a spendy DT salon be so poorly informed?. This picture is pretty unflattering and the hairstyle makes me feel pretty awkward.

Hair extensions by Jenna at Faust
    S S.

I was a new customer to Faust and I had the best experience. I got hair extensions for the first time by Jenna and I am so happy with my hair! Jenna was so sweet and walked me through every step of the process; making sure everything was comfortable, well placed and worked with how I like to style my hair/life style. The extensions matched my natural hair perfectly and look amazing. I could not recommend a stylist more high, Jenna's care and attention to detail shine through in her work. Her happy positive energy made the experience that much better as well as the overall vibe of the saloon.

Chemically burned ear - skin is still peeling off
    Monnikka M.

I got my hair color touched up here a few weeks back, and I really want to like Brille's work. But during the bleaching process, she left a 2-inch wide solution around my face, saying to make sure all roots are covered this way. She also said it'd be itchy and its normal. But within the next two days after I got the color done, the skin on my forehead (where she left the solution on) started burning and turning red, and eventually, after going through a lot of stress and concerns, dried and shed. It was a horrifying experience honestly to see skin on your face peeling off like that. For all the other colorings I experienced before, the hair colorists would wipe off the solution that's touching the skin around your face, so not sure why she thought it was ok to leave it on for so long, for all 3 rounds. As for the color itself, since we ran out of time (she originally told me it'd be 2.5 hours after our initial consultation, and it turned out to be 5 and we still weren't done), it was still one more bleach away from matching the rest of my hair color. She said one more appointment and she will be able to fix it completely, but now I'm scared to go back. She also burned my ears hard a few times when blow drying. I may just go somewhere else next time to fix this up. No more burns!

What I got: "full foil lightening," what was supposed to be a balayage (this was before the shadow root they applied the next day)
    Vic C.

I made an appointment here last month and originally booked for a partial foil lightening and haircut. The online form was pretty detailed and I specifically said what I wanted, a balayage at the ends and that I planned to dye over it later with purple, even sent pictures of what I was going for (literally googled pictures of partial balayages.) I get a call from the stylist, saying that I would have to rebook for a full foil highlight based on my requests (about $100 more than the original $300.) Despite the already steep price, I reluctantly agreed to the change; I saw this place had decent reviews and I needed to get this done before leaving for a wedding in a few days. We discussed a bit more the day of my appointment about what I wanted and she suggested lightening up a bit higher so that it lasts longer when it grows out. I said sure, as long as it's still dark at the top and gradually gets lighter from the middle to the lightest at the ends. About five hours later, it's hard to really see the ombre effect it should've been, just looked light all over with dark streaks in between and dark only at the root. She said that because my hair is so dark, it wasn't really possible to get it to the color I wanted, which isn't true because I've gotten it done with a previous stylist. I normally don't speak up when I'm not satisfied with a service, but when I got home my partner was shocked that I paid $466 and I didn't even get what I wanted. I called the salon the next day and told them that I just wasn't happy with my hair. They told me to come in and they'd see what they could do. I was seen by a different stylist and she acknowledged that it could've been darker at the top based on what I originally wanted, so she offered to do a shadow root, free of charge, but unfortunately there was no time for a lightening. Overall I was just disappointed with the result, especially knowing that my hair is definitely capable of reaching even a platinum color. But color aside, it's just not really a balayage and not worth paying nearly $500. I appreciate the second stylist offered to do what she could in the little time we had for free (I still tipped,) but in the future I will be looking for another salon.

I had one slip in 10 years, and my boyfriend, whom had a gift certificate, had a very weird phenomenon happen. Wendy works in an area that is congested in the afternoons. We made an appointment for the BF before the heavy traffic. But for some reason flow was stopped. Wendy was able to switch out two clients, as the next was early, however, they went over. He had to get back. We covered that. She offered to credit it. I appreciate that because she does try to get her appointments in AM or early afternoon, so she can get to other commitments (is my experience), so we did not book after 5. Fast forward 4 months. Trying to cram in a visit given I haven't seen her all this time. Got a text from her at 9AM, "Be there in 10 minutes." Oops. Her software system download junk mail that I didn't want so I gave my secondary email; that meant I was not necessarily going to see the reminder, I had had four things I was managing. Home Depot crew just left and she used to be downtown but I'm a loyal soul, 15 minutes away. There was the holiday special event the night before, I trained full time the previous days, with a flight delay 24 hours a week before. I understood missing, and honoring her time for that. I stopped and rebooked, and she said no, no, no to her software openings. Only several days out and only one time, okay. Let me circle back because this is confusing. I did so. The thing is, after, I didn't need the text message later, sounding like Mommy. We were past that. It's not like she only traveled to see me that day that I screwed up. She had appointments all day. But still, she was :-/ and I acknowledged her for that, she had given a clear note about if a no show again no can do. She wrote, "Be timely, I have an appt. after." Yes Mommy. I didn't have a problem with being late, so it was kind of off. No pb. She also tacked on a new fee. That was a little confusing. I thought she would say it when she said the previous blurb, and I did have a credit but that's OK. I told her and she did not like the feedback. I wish she would manage her time that she didn't give the false alarms, I understand that it happened on both ends, and that we were human, I don't think she saw it that way. Actually, your software had an opening after, but that's OK. Maybe you had a personal commitment again, maybe you just say that? Regardless, I called to create alliance with her. I do not think she checks voicemail, and she dropped me, still sounding mad at me that she lives an hour away. Oh Dear.
