The guy clearly didn't gaf about the quality or how deep he was tattooing her hand, and he was just generally weird. He was sweating a lot and his pupils were blown wide. Super unprofessional and honestly I made a mistake getting angel bites from him. He didn't tell me what mm ball caps he gave me, didn't inform me how to properly care for my new piercings, either. ***Warning Graphic*** If I could give this place a zero star I would. I went to get my cartilage double pierced almost 2 months ago, and to start the terrible experience, the piercer messed up when piercing my top cartilage to where he pierced it and ripped the piercing back out with the clamp so he had to re-pierce it a SECOND TIME. Weeks later came to realize that he in fact never pierced the cartilage and only pierced my skin. Due to the thin piece of skin that he pierced my skin began to decay and the piercing RIPPED THROUGH MY EAR LEAVING IT DEFORMED. He fucked up not one but both of my piercings leaving a hole in my ear and extreme pain to follow. This place is trash and I will never go back there again for any of their services. If you want a fucked up ear then this is the place to go. read more

I got this permanently, horrible, thing on my foot that Nate did. My friend and I wanted to get matching "compass" tattoos and this is the result. He didn't like our original ideas and decided to change it. I've been trying to make appointments anywhere to get this thing covered and I'm having ZERO luck. I made a poor judgment call when we walked in and saw this man tweaking and that he was running outside every five minutes doing whatever it was that he was doing. I returned here to get my second tattoo, a rosary with the words "Passerà Anche Questa" (an Italian phrase which translates to "This, too shall pass"), on my left hip. Chris was my tattoo artist, again, but this time he drew out the tattoo for me from my idea. It is absolutely gorgeous and tasteful. He does an amazing job and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to get a tattoo. My two friends also got tattoos a week after I did and had equally wonderful experiences. A couple months ago my friends and I decided we wanted to go get tattoos together. We planned ahead, my two friends decided on getting two larger tattoos and my boyfriend and I decided on two matching scripts that were a bit smaller. Our friends made their appointment we called the shop to try and make ours as well. I've gotten a tattoo before and know that they usually take down payments as well scheduling a time. Neither of these things happened, I pointed out that this was strange to me, but they told me I could just walk in and as long as it was with my friends they would take care of us. This did not happen either. We drove from Long Branch NJ, got a hotel for two nights at Harrahs and showed up to our friends appointment with them. The artist that was available, Dan, finally decided to take us seriously now that we were in-front of him, accepted a $100 down payment (he wrote our information down ON THE MONEY itself...so weird and unprofessional... like, that was how he was going to call us back...?) told us to come in at 12pm the next day and we'd be taken care of. Instead Dan stayed up till 6am with our other friends getting their tats done and never showed for ours. The artist never showed... never called...never heard from him again... he stole our money because he wanted to prioritize a more expensive set of tats and knew we had to go back to Long Branch. Understandable, people gotta make money but... now the public will know what happened and hopefully this review will stop this shop from stealing from people. Luckily we are not in position that we are strapped for cash so we were able to shrug it off when the other artist told us Dan wasn't there and we weren't getting out money back. We will never get art done here now and will suggest others to do the same. My boyfriend and I ended up going to Inked Society down the street and got an AMAZING job done by Shawn. The team of artists there were very professional and communicative, I 100% suggest going there instead of Fat Kats if you are ever in AC and don't want to get lied to and stolen from :) read more

I've been going to Nate. for many years and been getting nothing but amazing tattoos, exactly what I asked for. Today Nate. exceeded my expectations. He gave me more than what I asked for one of the most amazing tattoos that I've seen. I know that Nate. has gone through some hard times, but when somebody's down you don't kick them extend an arm and help them up. My sisters and I wanted matching tattoos. 3 birds with birthstone colored wings. Nate said the picture we provided was awful. He changed it up and my sisters were like no we like it how it is. He said whatever we want. 1st tattoo looks good but not what we wanted. We liked it so it was fine. 2nd tattoo, looks different then 1st tattoo and totally went free hand. One bird looks like a tyradactyl, the other 2 look good. 3rd tattoo, Nate was just done. He was rolling his eyes, totally free handed it. It is birds but not the same birds as the other 2 tattoos. Color everywhere, out of lines. Nate offered to fix it before we left town, but damage was done, it was my sisters first tattoo ever. Would not recommend this place. Went to fat kat exactly 2 years ago today. I just got back from my tattoo removal consultation. She said she's amazed how deep the woman shoved the needle into my back. It's going to take 8 to 10 sessions to get gone. So now I'm going to spend a bit over 2000 for my removal. I'm so bummed. It was my first tattoo for my grandfather who passed away & the woman who isn't Michele, butchered my back. I hate you forever and ever. You shouldn't have audacity to call yourself a artist when you cannot do simplistic lettering. read more

**** HEALTH AND SAFETY WARNING*** truthfully I'd prefer to give zero stars but that is not an option. I am not posting this as a review, but as a WARNING. This is not a safe environment! I went into Fat Kat almost 1 year ago (9/21) to get a navel piercing. As a young girl with no body piercings I wanted to get it done and live nearby and hadn't heard any bad reviews so I went. I should have done some research but nonetheless sometimes we make impulsive decisions and end up in the wrong hands. I went into Fat Kat and had to call Nate to return to the shop. I am prone to fainting and asked him what precautions and care he would provide if I lost consciousness. He said he would smoke a cigarette until I woke up and if I didn't he would light a second one. Unfortunately he was not joking. Nevertheless the piercing process proceeded and I chose a belly ring that was much too large and prevented proper healing. He also at no point STERILIZED ANY OF THE EQUIPMENT OR JEWLERY. MY BELLY RING WAS HAND WASHED IN A SINK WITH HIS HANDS PRIOR TO BEING PUT INTO MY BODY. I have had to get medical testing to ensure I have not contracted any diseases from this tattoo shop. This is an unsafe environment and no one should be getting pierced at this establishment. Again I am a young girl (over 18) and have no body piercings to have known the proper sterilization processes that are common practice in reputable piercing studios. I know now and that is why I am posting this warning. He then pierced by navel in a very shallow and improper placement which led me to a years worth of pain and suffering. When I asked Nate for aftercare instructions he told me I "look like a clean girl" and "I look like I know how to keep myself clean". Nearly six months after getting the piercing I went to a very reputable shop and sought professional help. My belly ring was changed to one that fit my body and would hopefully allow it to heal. The previous jewelry was on so tight with such low quality jewelry that it nearly had to be cut out of my body as the ball was impossible to remove. This caused trauma to the piercing as removal was so difficult. I then continued with proper aftercare and at almost a year later (8/22) my navel piercing rejected and has left a nasty scar. After the initial piercing I was unable to move, bend or breathe without intense pain and full abdominal swelling. This intense pain, swelling and discoloration came back as the piercing finally rejected out of my body due to improper practices and placement too shallow in the skin. Nate is not a qualified body piercer and by the looks of these reviews he is not great at tattooing either. I do not wish to take income away from the other, younger talented tattoo artists at Fat Kat but I wish there had been a warning for myself as this experience has caused me much mental, physical and financial stress as it cost me over $500 to get this treated over the last year. read more

I know Nate is going through a lot. I've known people who have gone to him for years. All the tattoos came out great. I went to get a tattoo from him recently and it was completely messed up. There's not even a way to cover it up because he went too deep in some spots and it's bumpy. There is a extra line where there shouldn't be and it's crooked. He has a great personality and enjoys what he is doing but he needs to put himself first and stop tattooing people while he does. If you do decide to go there, Mitch is an amazing tattoo artist and never messed up any tattoo i've ever seen him do. Both my sisters have several tattoos from him and they all came out perfect. My mom has a tattoo from him too which came out amazing. In general the tattoo shop isn't bad, just Nate isn't himself lately. read more
