If I could give them 1000 stars I would. I grew up in the industry as my brother used to tattoo in his younger years, I have been surrounded by artists a better part of my life and have had my share of tattoos. I consider myself a "collector" of sorts and am pretty much covered neck to feet. I have been to many shops and artists throughout my life and there's something so different about this one. I called and had a quick discussion with Vinny. He was attentive and fast to respond. Due to my experience we didn't need to review the care and what to expect experience but we did glance over it. This man is a true professional and you can tell he loves what he does. I showed him what I wanted and even before I got there he had my design and had it in 3 different sizes. He took the time to be sure the size, placement, and design was exactly what I wanted. He quickly got to work and it was quick and amazing. The shop is so clean and each artist had their own room so if you plan on getting a tattoo in a private area or need to be somewhat exposed, the door is closed in each artists private studio. No head-head-banging-rattle-your-brain-kill-your-momma music. Just a real clean, chill experience. I HIGHLY recommend this shop. My only experience was with Vinny, FOR NOW but take the advice of this 57 year old man who's been in countless shops. This place is amazing. You will not be disappointed from the minute you enter, meet the artist and leave with a pristine tattoo. I can't say enough good things about this shop and their staff. Fair pricing too!!! Hard to find nowadays with all so called artists out there. Make a day out of it. Go make an appointment and then go walk around and enjoy Keyport. Josh is who I go to, to do all my work. Nothing against anyone else working there at all, I've just always gone to him since day one. I've noticed that he's someone who legitimately cares about a single tattoo. He's open to give pointers, suggestions, and even tips on how to take care of a tattoo anytime! I go to Josh every time I need something done! This overall place isn't some tattoo shop where people working there are so stereotypically rude and intimidating at all! I had a tattoo done a couple of months ago and I really wasnt happy with it. The artist made a few mistakes and overall I wasn't satisfied with how it came out. I couldn't get in touch with the artist. No return calls. He just disappeared. Prior to his disappearance I told him that I wanted him to touch my tat up and fix a couple of mistakes that I noticed. I went to Broken Heart and explained my situation to Josh. I told him how I felt and that I find myself not wanting to show the tattoo to anyone. I would always make sure it was covered and I needed it fixed. He took my number and told me that he would fit me in , even if it meant him coming in early. Later that week he called me and we set up an appointment. I felt pretty lucky because he sometimes has a pretty long waiting list. The day of my appointment, I walk in showed him my tattoo, showed him the picture of what it was suppose to look like and I pointed out the mistakes that I noticed. He sat me down and went to work. This tattoo was an upper arm tattoo so it isn't real easy for me to see it unless I'm in front if a mirror. I wasn't aware of how it was coming out. I could see part of it but not the whole thing. Anyway when he was done, I looked in the mirror and couldn't believe my eyes. I was amazed. I didn't even realize just how bad the original tattoo was until I saw this tat fixed by Josh. He is a true artist! My friends and family can't believe how he made this tat look. Most people I showed the original tat too would just stay quiet and didn't have too much to say. Now when my friends and family see it they tell me how great it came out and they ask me how he did it. All I can say is be worked his magic and I'm so happy with it. He really has his heart and soul in his work, he made me feel that it was very important to him that I walked out happy and I did. Thank you Josh!!! Came here yesterday with my friend and we were both VERY happy with our experience. Bill (our tattoo artist) was so patient, friendly, and skilled. Because this was my first tattoo, I was extremely anxious and nervous but he made sure I had a few breathers during the time I was there. I recently walked in and caught Josh in between appointments. I showed him a picture of what I was interested in and he spent quite a while with me showing me the different types of coloring options he could do with it. He seemed excited to do the tat as he had some cool ideas to make it better. Since I did not know if I want to go all color or black and grey he was unable to give me a definite price. But he was able to tell me it would cost more than I thought it would. I guess the price of tattoos has gone up since my last one (over 5 years ago). Price shouldn't matter as long as you get a good tattoo and his portfolio definitely showed some good tattoos. I will save up some more scratch and decide if I want color or not and I look forward to coming back and getting it done by Josh. read more
