In previous excursions to HD stores at various locations over the years and across the US, my experiences have run the gamut of fantastic (Heads) to Absolutely Awful (Tails) to Phenomenally Disrespectful (Lost the Coin). Bottom line for the most part is my perception is that Customer Service often is reflective of managerial training and support of local staff...and that goes all the way to the top of the HD Chain. (IMHO respect for Veterans often touted in their ads, needs to be more honest and more consistent. I'm not looking for a handout...just the respect HD says it provides....but only sometimes.) Fortunately, for this specific Franklin Home Depot and this curbside trip, Customer Service was a "Heads." It came with prompt, courteous attention to my purchase and the process of pickup. The store had what I ordered on line (in stock) and they delivered it curbside only minutes after arriving and checking in (via phone). The process of checking is was a bit cumbersome, but it worked! And ultimately it worked well. Heads!

Staff are hard to find, and when you do they aren't super helpful. Aisles seem to constantly be blocked and you can't easily access what you are looking for. We tracked the order which was tantalizingly close to Nashville after a week, sitting on the outskirts of town in La Vergne for a few days. Why wasn't it moving? We probably should have driven down and swiped it. Because next, it traveled to Virginia to New Jersey to Dallas to Virginia again. It continued its cross-country adventure through various states before arriving at our house a month late, interfering significantly with our remodel schedule! After considering for years to switch to Home Depot's main competitor just 7,007 feet away, we finally had the last straw. After spending hundreds of thousands of dollars at this singular location for a decade's worth of remodels and being perpetually disappointed, the 2026 ice storm hit Nashville. Tenuously making our way over the ice and out of our neighborhood, we were thankful to find Home Depot opened with the rest of Cool Springs being a ghost town. We desperately needed a generator after losing power, and they were prepared with stacks of them by the front door along with space heaters and flashlights. We had a $500 generator rung up and asked the employee how to use it, being a style of generator we had never used before. This bear of a man his grumbled "Look it up in the Internet!" There were no other customers, there was no reason to rush us out of the store, everyone was desperate in the middle of an unparalleled power outage in Middle Tennessee, and the brusque attitude was completely uncalled for. Look it up on the Internet? HEY, DUMMY! We have no power, no heat, no hot water, no Internet, and no cell service. How do you recommend we "look it up" on the Internet. Our of the big box home improvement retailers, I am a Lowe's guy through and through for a few reasons. Pricing is the first, I seem to find better deals, especially clearance deals at Lowe's. Second is service, which tends to be decent at all the stores, this one included. My office is not far from here, so anytime I need to scoop something up for a project, I do so on the way home as I pass right by traveling down Mallory. My favorite section here is the grill section. I have gotten sooooo many grill items and accessories from this Lowe's. There is always something I forget or am interested in. This location is good on stocking as well. There has never been a time where what I was after was not on the shelf. They keep the store, inside and out, in good condition and clean. Overall, solid Lowe's location that comes in clutch when needed!

I had to call back a few days later to figure out why no one has called to schedule a delivery, and learn it is in fact not in stock. I said that I would then opt for a smaller size gravel than what I originally asked for so I could get it sooner. Was told again they would call to schedule delivery. I ending up having to call 2 days in a row and still never got a straight answer. I was hung up on multiple times. Finally when we did schedule delivery almost a whole week out, they told me they would be there between 8am and 10am, that we would be first delivery of the day because it has been such a headache getting it figured out. Fast forward to delivery day, they call me at 10am saying that they are running a bit behind. I had someone waiting for the delivery at the house, so I let them know. When I asked nature's best how long they couldn't give me an estimate. I called them at 2pm to ask where the hell my gravel was, as I had someone sitting outside in the heat waiting for this ridiculous debacle to be over with. They told me they would get there around 5:30. This was the final straw. I cancelled and told them they better refund my deposit. I have never dealt with a company this disorganized. I ended up going to southern nurseries on dickerson and they delivered the gravel next day for cheaper. I will never again deal with Nature's best.

Met Cherie who was manning the shop while her husband was out. She has a number of photographs she has taken displayed in the store...she has an incredible eye for detail and subject matter. Her animal images are really wonderful and quite vivid. Spent some time talking with Shawn...the co-owner. This store houses all kinds of vintage industrial items, some they have converted into usable household items. There is some really neat items here to create a one of a kind item for your home and they are adding items all the time. Shawn was fun to talk to and shared all kinds of ideas that some of the items there could be used for. Highly recommend you stop and visit with Cherie and Shawn...great people and a wonderful shop and barn to poke around in and find yourself a new treasure.
