My 40 lb pitty mix has a seizure disorder. Dr. Ray has been an incredible resource of information. She is calm, explains everything in a way that is understandable without being condescending or pretentious. I called the office to ask a question and she personally called me back the next day just to check on my dog. I have taken all of my cats here for shots and to get fixed. Most recently I took my cat Buzz here. Due to COVID restrictions, the lobby is closed. Call the phone number and a staff member will come out and have you sign paper work and then take your pet inside. When you pick your pet up, same thing. Do not take your animals to this Veterinary. I took my dog there and he was sick . They had us do blood work and IV and sent us home with 3 different prescriptions tell us he would bounce back in no time and if anything changed with him to call them and that the vet would be calling me on Monday to follow up with how my dog was doing. On Monday morning I called the vet because he was not doing any better he was much worse . I told them how he was gasping for air and I was told they couldn't get him in until 2:20 . So I had to take him somewhere else to seek help . My boy ended up passing away . I called the vets office to cancel the appointment they had set for him and asked him what I could do with the extra medication that was left . I told them exactly and I do mean exactly what I had left . She told me she would have to call me back to make sure she was giving the correct information to me . I heard back from her over 4 hours later . So I go up there to return the unused medication only to be told that they could not take it back . I was confused because this was not what I was told at all. I find it funny that when the young lady asked who had told me that the women next to her raised her hand and said nothing else . I told the lady that was working with me that I had explained exactly what I had left and the only thing I was told I could not return was the pills in the bottle that was it . Now I was being told because that some of the package was missing I could not return any of it and that's not how they would prescribe it . No one had anything to say when I asked then why was I told to I could bring it back when I told them exactly what I had . instead I was told I needed to leave because I said that obviously someone does understand what their rules are and what they are telling the customers . Thank you for showing me that my dog was not a priority in your clinic and thank you for making me out to be the bad guy when you are the one who told me the incorrect information. I don't understand why this vet can't handle an emergency during their normal business hours. My dog, who has been seen by Farview for 4+ years, refused to see him when we believed he had a blockage. You would think an emergency trumps a standard appointment but not at Farview. The reception didn't even allow me to talk to a vet or a vet tech. I have 5 dogs that I will no longer be taking to Farview. My loyalty now lies elsewhere. read more

If you love your animal, and you live in or near Independence, these are the folks to take care of your pet needs. They obviously LOVE animals. You'll love the occasional cats and Corgi's that roam behind the counters. They have walk-in's on Saturday mornings! Super folks. Love this place! The doctors are all excellent and the entire staff is always loving on the animals. These people really care about your pets and treat them as if they were their own. They have reasonable prices and do only what is necessary for your pet to be healthy and happy. They even take walk-ins on saturdays. There are MANY other vets a LOT closer to my home than this, but it is worth the extra drive to know I am getting quality care for my pets! read more

When we found Farview, we were on a cross-country road trip with our Cane Corso. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way he developed an ear infection. We yelped to find a vet near where we would be staying for the night and Farview came up with some of the best reviews. After visitinv, we can see why. They were able to get us in on a same-day appointment, shortly after our expected arrival time into the Independence, MO area. We brought our pup in and were seen within 10-minutes. The staff was warm and inviting and showered our pup with attention, making him more comfortable in a new doctor situation. They cleaned out his ears, tested the swabs to see what we are looking at, a d provided medication and an allergy shot to get him through the rest of our drive back to CA. All-in-all, we were in and out in less than 45-minutes with a happy boy who made new friends and got lots of treats. The price was very reasonable and the staff was fabulous. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place to bring their furr-babies. read more

We definitely recommend this animal hospital. We were visiting in the area and apprehensive about going to a veterinarian beside our own. But Dana (one of the receptionists) and Dr. A. My dog likes to bark at birds, falling leaves, the dog next door, my mom, squirrels, pizza delivery guys.. Really anything that moves and doesn't also feed him. The only people who have ever been able to calm him down are the ladies who work here. Even on his worst days, when he's feeling sick or if he's injured, my dog trusts these people fully. They just have a way of putting animals at ease, and that alone earns them five stars from me. But the fact that they have also helped my poor guy out of a couple serious illnesses and performed a much-needed surgery that let me bring him home safe and healthy means that this is a place I would recommend for all pet-lovers in Independence.
