I have spent several hundreds of dollars there over the past year for various services and some outpatient small surgeries. I agree with another reviewer that I felt nickel and dimed when they charged $10 to print out an existing prescription and I had to go back and pick up a physical copy because they won't work with outside pharmacies to call it in or take calls from the pharmacies. Maybe this is a new thing that vets are doing to make a few extra bucks, I never had this experience anywhere else. Also, they run a very tight ship. make sure you are on the dot for your appt...or you may get turned away.

I rescue animals all the time and this vets office bends over backwards to help me in any way they can. They are honest even if its something you dont want to hear. Thank you all at Animal Hospital of Cloverdale for making this all an easy process for me and all my dogs I rescue.

Bloomington Veterinary Hospital demonstrates every trait I look for in a veterinary practice to…read morecare for the animal members of my family. Every member of the staff is attentive, engaged, and invested in the well-being of your pet. They are helpful and responsive to any query or issue you may have (from true emergencies to the borderline neurotic concerns we all have as pet-parents). Dr. Tyson Medlock is particularly amazing. Dr. Medlock cared for my dogs (a 5lbs Yorkie and a 120lbs Great Dane) during the three years I lived in Bloomington. It may be cliché but I truly wish my GP showed as much concern about my wellbeing as Dr. Medlock does for his patients. He always provides the highest level of care during regular checkups, surgical consultations, and emergencies. While Dr. Medlock has helped me through a number of scary moments with my Great Dane (they tend to be clumsy and will eat anything left within their reach), I will be forever in his debt for the counseling and aid he provided while I was traveling with my horse-of-a-dog in Kentucky. I woke up one morning to my Dane showing all the signs of bloat and immediately took her to the nearest Veterinary Emergency room. Dr. Medlock worked with the emergency room doctor over the phone and took the time to counsel me through next steps. His ability to explain and advise on the best care for your pets is unparalleled. With his help, my Dane made it through those scary moments (which turned out to be a serious infection) and has been thriving ever since. In summation, Dr. Medlock and his team at Bloomington Veterinary Hospital provide the best veterinary care I have ever experienced during my many years of K-9 ownership. If I am ever fortunate enough to return to Bloomington, I will continue to entrust the well-being of my furry family members to this amazing group of professionals.

After several years (more than 10) at this "Hospital" with three cats and three dogs in their care,…read moreI have been informed that they are no longer willing to care for my pets. This came after voicing my concern about having 3 emergencies to which they declined to see my pet during the injury/illness; told to go to Indy. I voiced my concern in person and calmly suggested they change their name from "hospital" to "clinic." I also stated that Bloomington needs a 24/7 emergency hospital. After being interrupted several times and listening to her reason for not seeing my pet that died on the way to an emergency vet in Indy, she asked me to wait while she answered the phone. I simply said "I will not" and walked out the door. A week later I received the email that they will no longer care for my pets and that I need to find a new vet; agree. FYI-when I suggested they change their name, I was informed that they are in fact in the process of doing so. Is this due to their increasing poor reputation? Below is the email I received from them. Hello, this is Bloomington Vet Hospital. After careful consideration and a thorough discussion with our veterinary staff and management team, we have determined that we may not be the best fit for you and your pets moving forward. For this reason, effective today, we will be ending our veterinary-client relationship. We understand that this may be an unexpected message, and we want to make the transition as smooth as possible for you and your pets. We are happy to provide you with copies of your pets' medical records. We can either email the records directly to you or, with your permission, send them to the primary veterinary clinic of your choice. Please let us know which option you prefer, and we will be happy to assist you with the transfer of records. Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you and your pets all the best. -- Thank you, Bloomington Veterinary Hospital (812)-339-6115

I don't think I have ever had to wait more than 30 minutes on a very busy day, the same as a doctor's office for people. My cat got all of his vaccinations here and was taken here when he had a UTI. I don't particularly expect them to drop everything for me if they are finishing up. I also have called to ask questions regarding fleas and vomiting, and received good answers and advice. To be honest, many of the negative reviews seem to stem from presumptions about personalities. I will say that no one here has ever been rude to me.
