Because of the unclear charges (their terms contradict what they will ask you to agree to in an email quote), I remained respectful and asked for my deposit to be refunded (which I paid only the day before) but was told to "go to court KAREN". I took their advice, and the court ruled in my favour in November. This could have been avoided by Range Relocations communicating more clearly about their VAT charges and, when a customer raises a reasonable query, Range Relocations could engage respectfully and issue refunds when there is a reasonable and fair reason. I was out of pocket and had to rearrange a move at short notice, as well as having to deal with the small claims court. I would recommend avoiding Range Relocations or, if you have to use them, spend time carefully comparing what they ask you to agree to (by phone and email) with their terms and conditions. If you happen to misread or misunderstand anything, be prepared for poor customer service and for Range Relocations to take every opportunity to retain any payments you have made.

I was able to get a quote after a member of staff called to assess the situation. I own some bulky furniture that was heavy and expensive, it needed some careful handling. The so-called "insurance" they offer does not cover your belongings, which they conveniently disclosed only after the damage was done.
