The wake/memorial was amazing, their staff were always nearby but "invisible" - just out of sight. On the morning of the funeral everything went off without a hitch. Every detail was just right including putting the "US Army" insignia on the hearse and providing us a TV with HDMI input for us to present our slide show of the best photos. Everything we requested was done right and was done quietly and quickly. Props to TJ and Lou and the other fine folks at Doherty's, it was a beautiful send-off for our member of the Greatest generation.

When we asked a few clarification questions to make sure the funeral would abide by our religious and cultural customs, the guy that was helping us all of the sudden said that the funeral director was not available at the date we request (despite stating earlier that the director would be available on our requested date). And then he shut down the conversation. My family left the building, but my aunt went back to retrieve a pair of glasses that were left behind. When she returned to the building, she heard the employee that was helping us stating that we were cheap and did not want to spend money on our passed relative. We felt very disrespected at such a trying and vulnerable time. We would never give our business to a place that disrespects their clients in such a manner. We felt as if our culture and religious customs were being disrespected. It was borderline racist. Would never come here again.

My Dad passed Jan 2025…read more Right now I'm currently homeless so I let my brothers talk to Keefe for services as my Dad wanted them to handle it. My Dad's wishes weren't even considered. He is not a dress up person and was supposed to be wearing something casual. They put him in a suit which was not what he wanted. On the day of the wake/funeral I arrived and none of the staff greeted me. Eventually when someone showed up it was to take my coat and then disappeared. When my brothers set it up we were supposed to have two of us do eulogies as well as a priest. They did a horrible job before the wake started and didn't introduce themselves or ask about the family. (Just ushered them in the room where my Dad was and I was already in there and spent the whole wake. When it came time for the eulogies and the priest, the priest was the only one who introduced himself and asked things about my Dad. The priest did an amazing job summing up my Dads life and blessing him. After that someone came in (Remember NOBODY from Keefe even introduced themselves.) came in and announced the service was over and to head outside for the procession to the cemetery. Then to make matters worse they didn't have the family members go first, they just waved everyone on. At the cemetery they didn't even tell everyone where to pull up and park. Again the person from Keefe just announced the priest was going to do a quick prayer and announced where we were going afterward. So unprofessional and I will never use or recommend this place to anyone. So unprofessional and uncaring. My Dads final day was horrible. Wish I could give zero stars.

Mum & I wanted to dress Dad & Kevin Barile was there with such kindness to help us do this. Now Mum passed on January 29th 2021. I even recorded her saying " I want to go to Doherty Barile and have Kevin and Ralph take care of me" and she added "Allison, make sure that my eyebrows are on right". From the time she passed at Artis Senior Living of Reading to the time she went to the crematory , I will never forget. Kind calls from Ralph Barile and Kevin Barile to say not to worry about a thing. They came to get and transport Mum at Artis Senior Living of Reading to their funeral home . She was lovingly covered up in a pretty blanket and I walked out with John who transported her to the funeral home with great dignity. I once again participated in dressing her along with Kevin Barile who was wonderful . I'd wanted to put some additional touches of her favorite - perfume, lancome & lipstick - chanel of course! During the worst time of a låoss of a loved one I can't ever be more grateful for the beautiful experience I have had with losing both parents and especially my Mother, Margaret. I was able to be "hands on" and that comforted me so. And my Mum looked absolutely beautiful. She looked just as if she was going to work at Lord & Taylor and not skipping a beat. The best I think was when I submitted Mum's obituary and I looked online for her obituary & I gasped! There was Mum's picture with the Burlington Lord & Taylor building right behind her! Just amazing! And what a beautiful thing for them to do. I had only happy thoughts from then on. I do hope that you don't need their services anytime soon.
