Ordered 4 Reaper Pepper Plants from Farmer Joes via Amazon and when they arrived, the plants looked like they had been left in a delivery truck for days. Two or the plants may survive, the other 2 plants are just sticks. UPS was the shipper. Shipped on April 15, 2026 arrived on April 23rd even though the package was correctly marked with "Live plants" and in a package that should have been delivered in 2 days. read more

EMAIL sent May 21, 2025: NO reply since, + no one ever answers the phone. The WORST customer service! Only 1 plant has survived to date. "Hello Farmer Joe, Yesterday I received my order of 7 miniature rose plants. It was sent by priority mail in an USPS Priority Mail cardboard box. The box itself was crushed a little, but the worst was when I opened it. First, I noted 6 plants had been been packed on their sides, with the 7th taped to the top. There was soil & dead leaves all over, spilled inside the box. I had to hold the box in its side to remove the tape without damaging the plants any further. Second, the plants had been taped into place as well as ntogether with packing tape. Besides being extremely difficult to cut & remove the tape from the individual plants, the tape had picked up some of the spilled soil, making for an extremely messy process. Third, only one plant had an identifying label. All others either had no markings, or the name or just one letter written in some type of marker on the tape. So I really could only identify 2 of the plants. Fourth, the plants look pretty beat up, with what looks like dead leaves and buds. The plant that had been taped separately, on top or side of the box, had lost most of its soil, & looks nearly dead. I attached photos that I took after I got about 2/3 of the plants removed. Note that the box is in its side, as the plants had been packed this way. It took me about about 1/2 an house to release the plants. I have never received such poorly packed plants. The box was flimsy, and shoving in a 7th plant shows, to me, either a lack of knowledge or a lack of caring about the plants or the customer. I paid $24.50 for shipping, & expected the plants to be packed in such a way to minimize any damage. I can think of several other ways these could have been packaged, like even separating the individual plants. If any of these plants do not make it, I hope you will issue a refund or provide replacements. Looking forward to hearing from you." read more

It took Farmer Joe Plants around a month to ship my bush but it arrived in good shape today, was larger than I expected, well packed and seems in good health. I gave them a four star out of five because they were unresponsive to emails. Phone calls were met with a "Leave a message." then "Mailbox full" answer. The bush came with a note apologizing for the delay, saying that they were hit hard both by Hurricane Helena and Milton and are slowly recovering. read more

Extremely disorganized, only 1 person knew the prices, only one knew about care, different person to help you locate plant, prices on plants not correct per owner. More of a shipping operation, customer service not good. However they did have some unusual plants, but not worth the hassle. read more

Above and beyond customer service and absolutely amazing plants. They're my favorite plant nursery and i live all the way out in Oklahoma! They ship with so much care, i had a bad experience with my box being mishandled during shipping and they replaced my plants . Highly recommend their facebook page as well. 10/10 recommend read more

Customer service is 0/10. I inquired about my order a full week before I attempted first contact where I asked for a simple update to my order. No response so I tried again, and again nothing. After it had been 10 days I attempted communication through text where I kindly asked for an order update along with my order number. The one response I have gotten for this entire order at this point was for my name which I then sent along with a screen shot my order confirmation and received no response so I waited until the late afternoon to prompt a reminder simply asking if there was any update. I did not receive a quick acknowledgment of receiving the information I had texted to the only response I had gotten for the order. I would have been patient some more as I have done business with them before and didn't have any problems. I received no acknowledgment and no response to my inquiry. So I went to check their Facebook page to see if there had been any updates, they had made several posts but no announcement that they were delayed. I felt they had overlooked my order as a family member (who I recommended this place to) told me they had received their order. Since I had no response to my text asking for a second time for an update, I commented on all of the posts they had made since I ordered with and a direct quote as I had copied and pasted it to each post "Please send me updates on my order from May 8th." Not being rude but maybe a bit impatient at this point and within 31 minutes of me doing this, they responded with aggressive behavior saying that I was rude to leave those comments publicly, even though I attempted many times to ask for the information privately. At this point I was dealing with arguments on both text as well as messenger. I was told "This is were (here) you should have contacted me" from his personal account and not the business account as there is no way to contact them through the business account. Despite trying to defend myself by telling them I was only looking for an update, at the very least an acknowledgment of my inquiry, they bombarded me with accusations that I didn't do what I was supposed to even though my final avenue of contacting them had to be me commenting on their posts asking for an update. They then cancelled my order and continued to blame me for their no--response. I tried contacting them through the website as a means of it not being an urgent matter as it is hot here where I live and with school letting out I wanted to make sure I was home for the package. If it had to be 2 more weeks I would have gladly waited, all they had to do was give me an update. I did eventually receive an update after they cancelled my order to tell me the plants had been recently watered and they wanted them to be dried out before shipping, perfectly reasonable explanation and exactly what I had been asking. Overall I'm saddened that this happened, I would not recommend this or their other businesses. I only wanted a simple update but I received everything but that. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Farmer Joe's! I stumbled across Joe's via Facebook when I stumbled across "The Plant Whore" Facebook page. Being sort of new to the area, I was looking to find my new favorite places, specifically my new favorite planty places. And I found it! This place has EVERYTHING for any type of plant person. From rare and expensive to easy to grow and inexpensive. The day I visited I got a personal tour throughout the grounds. It feels like there are endless plant houses upon plant houses. It seems like it goes on forever and ever and ever... I purchased begonias, a Kerri hoya, and jewel orchid the day I went. All smaller plants (which I prefer). They also have occasional awesome deals, wholesale prices for those who sell their own, and occasional giveaways on the website/facebook page. Joe also has a website which you can buy and have items shipped. Great quality prices, great quality plants, super helpful staff, and super knowledgeable.
