It's surprising to see a small hardware shop doing as well as this in times of B&Q megastores, but thriving Farmers appears to be. It certainly is if the unabashedly cheery and attentive mood of the staff is anything to go by. Every home decor product under the sun is packed in here, including some always artfully arranged in window displays that Selfridges would be proud of. I have to say though, I did find Farmers on the expensive side, more than once having to recoil when told prices. Still, perhaps this key to their success. The steady stream of Fulham road customers (and their bulging wallets) don't seem to complain about value-for-money. Extensive paint shop is next door and keycutting is available. read more
