During my stay in Rome, I had the very unfortunate experience of fracturing my foot ( first day of arrival) and needed to get medical assistance nearby considering I could not walk. Friend stopped in search of an ankle brace and cane for me... although the staff in the pharmacy did not speak English, I think they were clearly able to understand what my friend went in for. Interestingly, I had noticed it when we were out for a walk previously. The store is clean and welcoming. The front of the store is devoted to personal care and cosmetics, but the rear is where the medications are kept. We chatted about symptoms for a bit and narrowed the complaint. The best product was chosen. By the next morning we were feeling optimistic that we were on the road to recovery. The medication was holistic and had no side effects. It just worked. We saw several of these pharmacies throughout Rome, and I assumed they were all part of some kind of chain or nationalized system. I guess the signage is standardized, distinctive and green, so the pharmacies are easy to identify. They are otherwise independently operated places of business. This Farmacia had a vast, highly visible selection of condoms. I had to ask for help to find the nail clippers, which were in a less obvious location. The woman working the pharmacy was polite and pointed me in the right direction. I clipped my toenails as soon as I got back to the hotel. €4 very well spent. Hit up this pharmacy if you're in this part of town, in need of grooming tools, prophylactics, etc.
