We saw several of these pharmacies throughout Rome, and I assumed they were all part of some kind of chain or nationalized system. I guess the signage is standardized, distinctive and green, so the pharmacies are easy to identify. They are otherwise independently operated places of business. This Farmacia had a vast, highly visible selection of condoms. I had to ask for help to find the nail clippers, which were in a less obvious location. The woman working the pharmacy was polite and pointed me in the right direction. I clipped my toenails as soon as I got back to the hotel. €4 very well spent. Hit up this pharmacy if you're in this part of town, in need of grooming tools, prophylactics, etc.

As Americans, we (general "we") typically take this type of convenience for granted as there are drugs being dispensed 'round the clock on almost every corner (the legal kind, of course!), but I assure you that when ill in Rome, this could very much come as a savior. My husband arrived to our Roman holiday with a touch of food poisoning, and thus we made our way over here so that we could hopefully curb the effects so he could enjoy sightseeing. The pharmacist was efficient and friendly and we were on our way within moments. Protip: Just ask for what you need and don't be shy. These guys have heard it all and it won't help to sugarcoat it. They'll help you find what you need, don't be bashful and end up with some random medication that won't help you because you were too proud to say what was wrong and/or admit you can't read Italian pharmaceuticals! 5-stars, this place will save you in a Rome pinch.

After a while my feet began to ache -if you've seen the streets of Rome you will understand- and we realized I needed some kind of antibiotic or i was going to lose some toes. As a European, you are allowed to scoff at New Yorkers. Cobblestone streets, a lack of public transportation, and more sights to slow you down in your step will have your feet aching like no tomorrow. And yet Italians can walk around in high heels and dressed so fashionable without having to hail a cab. New Yorkers you've got nothing on this life! I was able to cope but my mother had a much harder time transitioning. She already had walking issues no orthopedic function shoe could fix and her two week supply of Dr. Scholl's pads were gone in a matter of three days. Farmasalus came to the rescue. We stumbled into this historical pharmacy and the staff was so helpful and eager to help us with our needs. We were able to buy some blister and callous pads to help ease the pain of walking. What a relief. With this purchase I was able to drag my mother around Rome another three days. The shop is small but carries a variety of specialty items from basic medicines to expensive soaps. Everything is of high quality. Farmasalus è venuto in soccorso.

The next day, I realized my wallet was missing and that I had likely left it at the pharmacy when I paid. Unfortunately, by the time I discovered this, the pharmacy was closed and closed on Sunday, the next day. Monday morning, I went to the pharmacy. As soon as I inquired, the person behind the counter knew exactly what I was asking about and immediately produced it. What a relief! All of the contents of the wallet were there, including cash and credit cards. To have this happen in a major city is amazing and the people at this pharmacy couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. And yes, the medicine I received was spot on. While this pharmacy is quite a distance from where we usually stay in Rome, I was impressed enough that I would go out of my to return if I needed their services, Professional, caring, kind.
