Four bottles and about a million inquiries from strangers as to the fragrance later, I went onto the Barney's website to order again and saw that it wasn't carried any longer. I then called their corporate office and asked where their Vaniglia from Firenze went and they had no answers (noticed they carry again, so I guess they got their shipping or whatever figured out). I started googling and found that the alchemist and his shop are located in the middle of Florence and it just so happened that I was going to Italy, and I added Florence to the list of train stops. I spent a morning searching the winding Florence streets for this shop which was well worth it. While I was initially disappointed because I did have visions of crushed flower petals, and powders and smoking glassware with distillation kits filling a smoky backroom. I was still very happy to find my favorite fragrance and that pretty handwritten label on about a hundred different fragrances and oils. I basically told my boyfriend to find something to do for the next hour, because I was going to need some time. While I was there buying everything that I could find in Vaniglia (much less expensive than Barney's) the alchemist came out and I told him how much I like his fragrance and how everyone asks me about it and that he does the chemistry I would love to be doing. He didn't speak a lot of English with me but he understood me and definitely understood that I love his product because he wrapped up a beautiful bottle of a new fragrance and tucked it in my bag as a gift. That one is amazing too. I may not live here, but I can guarantee I'll be back.

We were to do a televisit with the tests but due to the heat and humidity, the seals were no longer sticking rendering the kits invalid. We arrived from Rome in Florence two days before the cruise. The pharmacist was so helpful and spoke excellent English. Our family of four received paperwork showing our negative tests for a very reasonable price. Thank you for saving our vacation!

Mostly through non-verbal communication, I explained what I needed to the clerk, who had me sit on a short stool in a semi-private area. He came over with a compressive support brace for my ankle and let me try it on. It fit perfectly and really helped with the pain, so I wore it out of the pharmacy. I believe it was 14 euro. This is a really convenient pharmacy as it is around the corner from our place and is open late at…read morenight almost every day. The only problem I find is that the staff is not so nice. At all pharmacies in Italy, you can ask their pharmacists advice about some ailment you may be having and they will gladly recommend a product. But at Cortesi, I tend to avoid asking anything at all since they don't tend to be friendly or helpful. However, they will order any medicine or product they do not have in stock and it will arrive within a day or two. All in all, it serves it's purpose, as long as you don't expect service with a smile!

The pharmacists are knowledgeable and very friendly. They know their stuff whenever we have questions about both prescription and over-the-counter medicine, which is especially comforting while we live thousands of miles away from where we call home! They have a weird period where they're closed from either 2 - 3pm or 3 - 4pm, I forget the time exactly. But they stay open relatively late (either close at 8 or 9pm). Unfortunately, they are closed on Sunday.
