It would be nice if they post more information on their website than leaving us a vague information. We also tried to call them, but no one picks up the phone. We took the risk to go and ended up disappointing & going home with already picked up strawberry boxes instead. On other bright side, the drinks were absolutely delicious!!! One of these reasons I am glad that I got to try it and it had a interesting taste. They sell homemade komacha drinks with different flavors. I would give the full stars next time when we get to explore a bit more and more time slots for us to pick our own strawberries.

The farmers (brothers Trystan and Max Sandvoss) have certainly put their time in as to how to run a clean farm and properly care for all of the creatures (goats) living there. You can tell they take care to make sure each animal is properly cared for with good diets, clean shelters, and open rotated grazing spaces. As for the cheese. If you love cheese (even if you just like cheese), you MUST try ALL cheese coming out of this Creamery. I have yet to meet one that I don't like. Even if you don't like goat cheese at all, try the Chèvre. It is so ridiculously light, creamy, and NOT "GOATY"; it's exactly the way it should be. Because they take such care in making sure this cheese is made properly and fresh you are ensured a great cheese every time. New to Farm this year is a Dairy CSA with several options to choose from: Full Dairy, Half, Cheese, and Yogurt shares available (detailed on their website). The milk comes from their family's farm down the road and is Whole (cream on the top) Jersey Milk; the yogurt is from this milk, yum! If you decide to take the workshop, it is a day well lived and worth every penny. You leave with a boatload of knowledge AND a cheese making kit. We received yogurt and granola for breakfast, a home-cooked meal for lunch (made by their mom- how cute is that?!!), each portion made with a different kind of their cheese (including one you make during the class!), dessert, AND cheese samples while you are taking the class! Get to this place and check it out. You won't regret it.

Finding out that the very people I was talking to were the owners/farmers and goats were some of the cheese contributors was a highlight to my day! The cheese was AMAZING. I had to stop myself from buying them out, perhaps it was lucky I was returning to Washington, DC the next day which prevented me or no one else would have been able to try such great FRESH cheese. They did provide me with a reusable cooler bag for me to take my cheeses on my flight back home. My cheeses made it back to the District and my husband, who is a big goat cheese aficionado, loved them. I haven't been a big goat cheese fan in the past but First Light's hits one out of the park. The next time I am in Buffalo I will be checking out First Light's market schedule to pick up more and I hope to take one of their cheese making classes too! A bonus: they take credit cards including American Express!

Sweet and crisp! Great choice of fresh fruits, produce, cheese and even meat! The little cafe has lunch specials. Usually it's a sandwich special. Pretty reasonable and cute eating area. This summer will be fifth year doing Porter Farms and I love them…read more 1. Best price per pound of any CSA, by a long shot. $330 gets you five months of brown paper bags brimming with organic veggies. 2. Tons of pickup locations, so you can get it anywhere. 3. Just about everything is regular main stream veggies - lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, onions, spinach, zucchini, winter squash, etc. Except for the kohlrabi, I knew what everything was the first time I saw it. 4. Melons are included. Most CSA's have no fruit or it is a separate fee. They are working on some orchards, too. 5. The pick up locations are people's porches, so the veggies arrive and you can get them at your leisure. Depending on your pick-up site, you can get them as late as Sunday morning, which is great if you're gone for the weekend. Our host even puts it in the fridge if you let her know ahead of time and puts it back out at the pre-arranged time. 6. You get to visit the farm once to pick up all the vegetables for your group. The farm is great to see, you meet some Porters, can see their sheep AND you get to pick from whatever extra produce they have that week that didn't divide evenly among the shares. 7. To date, they have never run out of share. You can sign up last minute where as most other shares sell out months ahead of time. 8. There is an early bird discount if you sign up before April 15. Pick up is Saturday after 11am, which is a pro for some and con for others. Sometimes they post the veggies ahead of time which is nice if you were planning a trip to the farmers market before you pick up. If I were to make one change, it would be to allow people to skip a week and make it up later which Native Offerings does. I've got no complaints. I love this CSA. Your pick-up location might not have great parking, but you can't blame the farm. You can get a free guest bag if you want to test it out. Info is on the website.
