The criss cross pattern shown in the pictures makes their delivery look fuller but really, it's a deceptive way to deliver far less wood than they are supposed to. I ordered a face cord which should be 4' x 8' of wood. They filled my rack about 3' x 8' with this criss cross pattern and it looked good from afar. When I restacked the wood to fill my rack like it should have been filled, the reality is they only delivered 3' x 4' of wood... less than half of a face cord. I wasn't home when they delivered but left them payment and they took my payment for the face cord and after I called back about the shortage and left a message, I've been ignored. read more

They were out driveway sealing in our neighborhood and cutting deals at end of day. While I was initially skeptical, the driveway needed to be done and their price was great. I'm quite glad I went for it. Great job. Very good prep- blew leaves and twigs, swept back foliage and mulch. Made a good crisp line at edge. Used good a unit of ack sealant where needed. Nice even coat of sealer all around. Stacked caution line across base of driveway. Saving their card. I'd ise them again in they are in town. read more

Delivery was on time and wood seems like it's pretty seasoned BUT very disappointed to find out after the fact that they cross stack the wood! Called to complain and while they offered to come pick it up and give me a refund, I chose to keep as it's not worth my hassle. They price it as a face cord, talk about delivering and stacking a face cord but NEVER said it's not stacked as one. I'll find out once I restack it but estimate it's only about half a face cord. I read the reviews and decided to watch the stacks. When I noticed the stacking, I requested the change to reflect a solid stack. When final payment was due, I discussed the quantity that was delivered. A count of 220 per face was what was delivered. After our discussion, they agreed to deliver 240 per face. Wood was of quality and polite delivery people. Just make sure your fully understand the quantities. read more

Unfortunately this is the second time we've ordered from fantastic firewood and have been disappointed. In the past we've ordered from them in the summer to allow the wood to dry. However, this year we forgot and ordered later in the year. When we looked at the wood as they were delivering it, it looked very fresh. When we asked about it they said it was kiln dried. I can tell you it is definitely not, it is not dry and it does not burn. The only reason I didn't give it a 1 star is because they stacked it well. Buyer beware read more

Fantastic Ripoff! I asked if the price was for a full face cord; They said yes. They came early and delivered and stacked when I was not home. When I got home I immediately noticed they "cross stacked" the wood. This method results in 50% less wood delivered. 50% less than the full face cord they promised. Called to complain, they said, "that's the way we do it". So, bottom line, unethical and they non responsive. Buy somewhere else. And be sure to ask about cross stacking before you buy. read more

Horrible... Horrible. Only got about 2/3 of a face cord and then they played games with me for almost 2 months. Was supposed to get oak which is what I payed for but got mixed. There was even some soft wood mixed in there. read more

Well I wish I had read the previous review prior to getting a face cord delivered. I don't like to stand over people while they work but in this case I should have because they do criss cross their stacking and you are shorted a large amount of wood. I didn't check my log rack until after they left and from what I've just read attempts for a refund would be in vain. Live and learn I guess. I'll stick with Lumberjacks from now on. read more

I ordered 1 face cord of wood but they only delivered about 1/2 a face cord. I contacted them numerous times and was repeatedly told they would make it right and deliver the rest of the wood. After numerous cancellations and no-shows, I was told they would refund half my money. After they changed back to delivering the rest of the wood and didn't show up again, they finally said they weren't going to make good on the issue and that I could take them to court. They also said they cross stack, which they did not in this case. After 12 days of back and forth, they did deliver the rest of the wood. read more

Love the wood!! Criss-cross stacking may result in 15% to 20% less wood. But a 90% better burn rate than any other wood ive purchased at a higher price. Would recommend this company to anybody in need of good quality hardwood. read more
