We saw two breaches! I watched from the top level of the boat as well as the front and the back of the boat. Honestly, the best views were from the main cabin of the boat. It was like the whales were just outside the windows! Many thanks to our great crew that day - Captain Richard, First Mate Sandy, Naturalists Megan, Michael and Reid. They even took pictures during our trip and sent to everyone after the trip. Loved the whole trip and will do again next time we are in Victoria! Highly recommended.

Cruise was lovely, starting before sunset (7:00 pm, mid Sept) and lasting well after sunset until disembarkation at 9:30. City lights are beautiful. One suggestion (I hope management is following these): turn off the LED rope lights in the cabin after dark so there's no or less reflection on the windows. That reflection makes it impossible to see through the window and enjoy the city lights. Yes, you can go outside, but if chilly that's not ideal for all passengers. That is the biggest negative. Overall a positive experience. Now turn off those lights so we can fully enjoy an evening cruise in Vancouver.

Unreliable. Sail at your own risk!…read more Harbour Cruises of Vancouver completely failed to deliver on the promise of their Indian Arm cruise. They claimed smoke in the engine room and limped back to port before we even turned into the Arm. Other reviews have reported unexplained itinerary changes that eliminated the main part of the trip. One has to wonder if they don't go up the Arm simply to save money when it's not fully booked or if their boats are that unreliable. While I understand mechanical issues, their compensation policy was completely inadequate. They offered a free drink on board and a coupon for 15% off a future cruise. Anyone booking on the internet can get a 20% discount off any cruise! After much back and forth they finally offered a 20% refund. The final price after this discount was approximately double the price of a narrated harbor tour. We received an un-narrated tour of the container port instead of a tour of the natural environment, which is what we were promised. We feel cheated by Harbour Cruises of Vancouver. Sail at your own risk!

We were happy just to get out on the water and explore, but were lucky enough to witness a wealth of beautiful sea creatures. We saw humpback whales, then a playful pod of Harbour Popoise put on an amazing show. The grand finale was a pod of majestic orcas that I'll never forget. Our guess is Mike didn't see it worth the time due to the limited number of bookings. (It was only 5 of us total for the evening. Mike told me the afternoon sail was 22.) I can totally understand the business case of not wanting to take 5 people out, but how about setting up a system that lets the patron(s) know this well in advance. We saw sea lions, two humpbacks, and the T13 orca pod. So, we got pretty lucky from a wildlife perspective. The captain, first mate, and naturalists were nice, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and just fun. Bottomline, this is what you are paying for. Hopefully, you see whales but the company cannot control the wildlife. The idea is to have a good time regardless of what nature has to throw at you. For reference, the boat ride takes a lot longer than the actual viewing so the crew being entertaining is more important. We had a great time.

A puffer was sufficient on deck with a very sinched hat (next time I'd opt for a tight beanie to avoid being stressed about losing the hat). Nice boat, it wasn't overcrowded, and having an indoor cabin was a perk for those who wanted to take a break from the wind. Crew was friendly and knowledgeable.
