The directions we received upon booking were clear. We found parking easily though had it been busier at the park that day we might not have easily found a parking spot. The crew was awesome, introducing themselves to us as we boarded the boat. Safety procedures were reviewed, and then we learned a lot about the area, the wildlife, and the waters throughout the trip. It was just about an hour long, not totally; we had a great time and think it's a good value. Absolutely beautiful weather added to the experience. read more

The tour was wonderful, the weather was wonderful. When we arrived we were met by our tour guide and other couple that was taking the tour. We preceded to the boat which was very clean which was a plus! We were heading out and the boat suddenly stopped. The tour guide had located 3 bald eagles and the nest! Wow it was amazing we were able to stay right in that spot and take all the pictures we wanted. We progressed on and were given info on surrounding islands, bridge, waterways and other animals. We went on the boat tour of Deception Pass in August. As we approached the date of our tour the weather forecast was not looking great but we ended up having beautiful weather! From purchasing the tickets to the tour itself everything went very smoothly. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the boat tour was absolutely amazing! We had our 3 year old granddaughter with us and even she enjoyed the tour. Aside from the usual bald eagles and harbor seals ( and many bird species) we say harbor porpoise and Stellars Sea Lions. Learned a lot about natural and human history in the area. FYI, bring along an extra $10 (or checkbook). The dock is inside a Washington State Park and you'll need a day pass to park there. read more

I have lived on Whidbey Island for years, but only recently had the opportunity to go on this Deception Pass Boat Tour. Overall, it was a really fun and enjoyable experience! The captain and tour guide were both helpful and friendly. The boat was comfortable and had plenty of room for everyone on board. And the views of the bridge and the surrounding scenery were amazing! There were several fun sightings of various wildlife as well. It's not a bad idea to bring a jacket or sweater. We went on a 75 degree sunny day, but it was still chilly out on the water, especially when the boat was at full speed. The only 2 things that I thought could be improved were the volume of the speakers. It was difficult to hear the tour guide at times, especially sitting toward the back of the boat. The other thing is that the office is in an odd place compared to where the actual boat dock is. The office is 2 miles from the bridge on the Anacortes side, but the boat dock is 2 miles from the opposite side of the bridge on the Oak Harbor side. So just leave enough time to get from one point to the other. Overall, though, this was a really fun experience and I would recommend it to visitors read more

Then call that "direct " number to actually talk to someone. Make your reservation with a person and you will be good. It's all a bit sketchy with their hours at the "hut" but if you follow these instructions you will be fine !! And it's well worth every darn penny !! Great boat ride other than the "actual open hours of the reservation hut". That part stinks!! And that why I gave 4 stars !! The boat ride us a10!! Getting to it is a 2!! read more

We recently took a 55 mins boat tour with the Deception Pass Tours, and we had amazing experience! The crew was very partial, and we started our tour right on time! The boat was clean, and comfortable! The onboarded crew was very welcoming, and knowledgeable! Instead of being a usually sunny day, it became quite chilly on the boat, but thanks to the crew, they instantly provided us with the jackets, which made us quite comfortable throughout, and made our tour much more enjoyable! Time to time they stopped the boat near historically important islands, bridges and spots, and shared details about those points, which made the tour quite engaging and interesting! We got lucky and got to witness some amazing marine life including sea lions, seals, blue herons etc, which was the highlight for us for the tour! The crew made sure we get to enjoy those moments by stopping, sharing details, and allowing us to capture good shots of them! They even clicked our picture with the bridge in the background!
