I had a fantastic experience! This is my first time ever visiting here. I went in, looking for a specific bra for a specific style of dress. The really sweet gal at the counter on 4/6 around 1:30pm was awesome! The bras are really expensive but she allowed me to try three on before. She honestly told me that maybe we should just go with the tape to lift my breasts in the dress which was about 3 times cheaper. And Retail world, you are constantly trained to upsell upsell, upsell the customer. This was by no means downsizing for the stores quota. This is legitimately amazing customer service, because I still spent a decent amount of money in there, and I'll go in again because she was so cool and helpful. She was honest, she listened to my needs, and we were on the same page. Here's the deal. Had I bought the almost $80 bra, I would never go back in there again. I don't even spend that kind of money on Victoria's Secret. I can buy two bras at Victoria's Secret for that price. BUT... it's really cool, very quaint, a lot of lingerie and a little section for fun pleasures (wink wink) but yeah, I would've just thought they were too expensive and the one time was enough for me. Because I enjoyed the experience so much, I would actually go in there to support any time. I'll be back! Staff is well trained and very cool :) and in their pricing defense, the bras that I tried on did seem like they had a little bit more grip on the body, that any Victoria's Secret bra that I've ever tried on. Okay. So I've needed new bras for quite some time. Wearing ones that were really uncomfortable and yanking them off practically as soon as I walked in my door. But where do people purchase bras locally? I knew that if I tried ordering online, I'd have to do the order/try on/return merry-go-round. Occasionally, I would buy one or two at Target, but was never happy with them. Many years ago, buying lingerie at Victoria's Secret was a true treat with classical music playing, and an atmosphere more like a bridal salon. Next thing I knew, there were bins of underwear, they were focused on selling sweatpants with things written across the backside and the perfume was migraine-inducing. I decided to brave one of our few department stores. (I hate department stores). While the staff was extremely pleasant, I was disheartened trying to find what I thought was my size hidden in stuffed racks, while trying not to knock everything on the floor. Nothing stood out to me. Was finding a bra that didn't dig into my underarms, but that was also some semblance of pretty, impossible? Was I at the age where I needed be satisfied with matronly underwear? I grabbed what I could, went to the dressing room, and bought what I thought was as good as I was going to get. At the start of my journey, I had planned on going to downtown SLO, but I had passed the department store first. Now I was debating with myself whether I should call it a day (I hate clothes shopping), or run into town just to see what they had. I really figured I would drive over,decide not to bother, and drive right through. As luck would have it, I saw a parking space just a few yards from Fanny Wrappers. Fanny Wrappers. I hadn't been in in years. The place where they will assess you and make sure you get a perfect (and I do mean perfect) fitting bra. Why had I stopped? Yes, they are a bit more expensive. They carry brands I've gotten on sale elsewhere and brands that I looked at online, but felt were a tad out of the practical price range. The thing is, you will have someone who will use their expert experience to find what you are looking for. THEY will search their stock for your perfect size. THEY will get it for you. THEY will assess each item and tell you if the fit is off a by a fraction in spots I never considered. So I bought. And I bought some more. Bras that I could almost sleep in. No pinching, gapping, or pulling. And ladies and gentleman, they were PRETTY. I don't know about you, but I I work a pretty physical job. Getting dirty is normal for me. I LIVE simple and practical, but it's nice to know that the foundations will be attractive. Best of all, at least 2 that I bought were on sale and Fanny Wrappers has a frequent buyer card that (I believe) allows your to get your seventh bra free. One of mine was free today. So, it was a bit of an investment, but I figure that I am set for a couple of years. They also had pajamas of the comfy and sexy kinds, and toys of the bedroom kind. THIS STORE DESERVES 6 STARS! Cheaper than Victoria's Secret AND great for those of us who want a bra correctly sized, especially if you are big chested. For the longest time, Victoria's Secret employees argued to me that i shouldn't go up a bra size and stick with a C cup, but I was getting terrible back pain. Fanny wrappers sized me up right (DD sometimes pushing to DDD). Victoria's Secret wants you to stay in a smaller size so you can keep buying their bras, but with Fanny wrappers size selection, you will find the right one! In an ideal world, I would allot zero stars. The sales representative with obnoxious green streaks in her hair has sale techniques as flagrant as her appearance. On two separate occasions she misjudged both my income and my body shape. During the most recent encounter, I went with a friend and the stark contrast of our experiences left a disdain and bitter aftertaste. While in the store she only asked to hold my items behind the counter, she only suggested I try on the merchandise before purchasing, and only reminded me of the 2 week exchange policy. I am a similar size and shape as my friend, but I wore baggy and comfy clothing and for this I was treated distinctly differently. In a world where amazon offers anything and everything, customer service is what allows these boutiques to stay in business. By allowing an employee who demonstrated such discrimination, Fanny's can take responsibility for not only the increased preference of online shopping but also the general frustration with the obtuse vision of lingerie stores. read more

Love this place! This place actually sells bras for women with boobs. It's an incredible concept. I haven't set foot in a Victoria's Secret since the day they gave me an incorrect bra-fitting to try and get me to purchase a bra there (I was a bra fit expert at another store... I laughed when the woman told me the size she measured.). The ladies at Fanny Wrappers are awesome though. Super helpful and just plain friendly. They know their stuff, too, which is huge when you're shopping for bras. This is what a lingerie store is supposed to be like. This is probably the very first lingerie store I ever been to! I love the name and it's still unbelievable after all these years that this store is located so close to the San Luis Obispo Mission! Even being located in a sleepy town such as San Luis Obispo boggles the mind! Fanny Wrappers have everything that Victoria's Secret has. I find the lingerie quite tasteful for the most part but there's always *this* section that most people find intriguing. Fanny Wrappers has been around as long as I can remember. Some of their items are suitable to clients who are after lingerie and novelties a bit racier than found at Victoria's Secret. But unlike Victoria's Secret, Fanny Wrappers is not a chain store, yet the pricing is relatively competitive. The staff is friendly and ready to assist, even if you're a guy not quite sure what your significant other would be after. Perhaps the selection is a bit bewildering at first, but then again, aren't most stores that way for a guy shopping for a significant other in the intimate apparel category? Highly recommended! Fanny Wrappers is a true gem of a store! I never thought I would get excited about going to a lingerie store, but this one is fabulous. They have a wide variety of bras, in sizes that you will struggle to find at a store like Victoria's Secret. The bras come in a range of prices, from the $15 sales rack to some $60 bras, but all are good quality and made to last, making them a good investment for any woman. Unlike the annoying and pushy saleswomen I often encounter at Victoria's Secret, the women here have always been helpful and truly interested in helping you find the right bra in the right size. I am always impressed with how knowledgeable and friendly the staff are at Fanny Wrappers. They help to not only zero-in on what you're looking for, but make sure that it fits properly too. It's just like having your sister, mother, or best gal pal there with you.....but better :) They come into your room and assess proper sizing, if the style works with your body, and adjust bra straps, etc...it's wonderful!! I feel like a VIP client every time that I shop here. Bras and their other lingerie will cost you a bit more here, but it's worth it! This is one of those times where you truly get what you pay for. I have bras that I purchased here 5 years ago, that are still in wonderful shape. I have not found that sort of longevity with Victoria's Secret products. I've been going to Fanny Wrappers (love the name) for years and have had nothing but the kindest, most informative assistance. As a guy, it may seem to some to be a bit awkward walking into a lingerie store, but that feeling is history as soon as you cross the threshold, through the ached doorway and see friendly faces. Apart from the lingerie and "toys," I love the art decor interior. I'm an artist, so it really appeals to me. The whole place is sensuous, but the staff is down-to-earth. I have to remark on something I read in the Yelps. I was sifting through the reviews and noticed someone complaining about a bra, but what confused me was that she didn't bring in the bra that she said was a problem. She complained bitterly about the service, which seems a little strange when you don't return the item. I've met the manager, and I've never seen her anything but very chipper, so either it was a bad managerial day or....? Anyway, from my standpoint, I love the store and the staff. The pricing is fair considering the assistance, and the quality has always been excellent. I know they don't make it themselves, but I know they stand behind their products, but, as I have found, it helps if you bring the item back to the store with a smile. My lady loves that I visit at a lingerie store myself and bring home surprises. She has always been a huge fan of Fanny Wrappers as well, and I love to see the surprises she selects! I had the most frustrating experience at this store. It was a very pretty young brunette that helped me, and turned me into a very, very angry customer. Let me explain, I found bra have been looking for years. Being that I have had breast augmentation it has made it difficult to find wireless bras. I don't need them, and they hurt, push on my chest, pinch and poke me. I hate wires. This particular bra was perfect. So I requested that another 'llcould be ordered and I would pay now to get it in a month. She told me no, that I had to go home and wear it for a week then call them. I said that at my age 56 I knew what I wanted. One sales person was trying to say that she'd order it while the other said no(Brown hair said no). I was so frustrated I wanted to buy more. I asked her what ever happened to customer service, it was my money to spend. She just started smiling in a smirky way. I asked her what she found so funny. I got enraged and cursed. I left with my purchase in a crazy huff. I felt so bad about my behavior, it was not like me and found it very disturbing, I went back and apologized, I felt horrible. So I went home and got 2 more bras on line. I will never shop in a that store again where a sales clerk can push my buttons and make me that angry. I have been shopping in that store for 17 years. The girls that work there definitely help you out a lot. I went there for a halloween costume before and they helped pick one suitable for me and the right size. A few months ago went there looking for something sexy for an anniversary, wasn't sure what I wanted, but they helped me find a reasonably priced corset. Large selection of different items for everyone's needs in such a small store. Only thing that REALLY bothered me is the minute I walked in, it's like they assumed I was going to steal something. When I went there I wasn't sure what I wanted to get so I was just browsing the racks till something caught my eye, and every rack I changed to some girl was following me around pretending to "sort" the items on the rack and "organize" them, yet at the same time kept looking at me. Like she was waiting for me to steal something. I'm 24 years old, responsible, graduate who would not dream of stealing anything. It's a huge turn off when sales associates assume that. I went to Fanny Wrappers when there were no customers in the store to get some bras. I asked the saleswoman (brunette with winged eyeliner) to fit me as I am entering my 2nd trimester of pregnancy and my size has changed, causing no bras to fit me. She told me that she did not recommend me purchasing a bra because my breasts may change and I may get mad that my bra no longer fits and I wasted the money. She recommended I return 4 months AFTER nursing. I asked her when her breasts stopped changing during pregnancy, or when she has heard a good time to upsize the bra is during pregnancy, and she defensively stated that she has never been pregnant but her job makes her quite knowledgeable. She said she would fit me, just recommended I shop for nursing bras elsewhere instead of bras in the store. I decided to leave the store when she recommended me purchasing a bralette (because it would grow with me) to a pregnant woman with aching and swollen 38DD breasts....something about the law of gravity and lack of support in a bralette just doesn't work out for sore, swollen boobs. It sat wrong with me that she had a small chest, has never been pregnant, and has clearly not worked with many women with bigger chests based on that advice, but she tried to use her "experience" to persuade me to shop for something else, somewhere else. She was trying to be nice in her way, I think, but it's bad news to try to get a customer to shop elsewhere and to act knowledgeable about pregnancy and breast changes when clearly she is not. Second issue: don't assume someone is going to breastfeed or wants nursing bras when they have not mentioned it once. Not everyone can breastfeed, even though it is a norm these days. Overall, I am not a fan of this store because of the customer service. I recommend Victoria's Secret right down the street. They gave me great customer service, and knew just what sizes and styles to pull for my breasts to have relief for the first time in months. Even if I have to upsize my bras 3 months from now, it's worth it and necessary to take care of the girls! read more

Fanny Wrappers is indeed what lingerie shop should be. Just down the street from Victoria's Secret, the Costco/Walmart of women's underwear stores, but in Fanny Wrappers, you'll find no crowds, infuriatingly inattentive or absent sales associates, or intolerably TACKY, rhinestone-y, overpriced bras like those in VS. I had more bras that fit properly on in one visit to Fanny Wrappers than I think I've had on in a lifetime prior. I left with a sexy, beautifully fit bra that amazingly cost less than anything in VS. If you need something sexy in a snap - this is a good place to shop. Prices aren't the cheapest but they aren't too crazy; i find most of their inventory is priced for what I would pay online + standard shipping so its worth the trip. Also their employees have gotten progressively nicer over the last few years, which I sincerely appreciate. They did used to have a bigger selection of hosiery, some with cool retro-like backseams and cuban heels, some random designs; haven't seen any on my last few visits so that is a little disappointing. As a man, it is not the easiest task to go into a women's store to buy a "toy" for your girlfriend. I did this however when my girlfriend asked me to. There was almost no toys in stock the day I went in and a nice blond woman helped me out as she had the last one of the kind I was trying to buy behind the counter. She put batteries in it and it didn't work - told me that their batteries were dead and that fresh batteries was all that was needed. I left with the toy. After getting home new batteries did not do the trick. This toy didn't work. When I return to the store and explain the situation to a brunette working on 7/9/19 at 3:30PM (probably the same one that is complained about in other Yelp Reviews) I did not have my receipt. But the toy was the same brand and stock that they carry. It was in their green bag. I described the woman who helped me and I pointed to the drawer where they keep their batteries... My story was real and plausible - THINK ABOUT IT - what man would step up to be embarrassed a second time about a toy purchase problem if it wasn't legit? I wasn't even asking for my money back - I just wanted a working toy. Scammers don't want vibrators - they want money. Her opening comment was we don't accept returns on toys - which makes sense to me IF they were working properly at the time of purchase. However, she went on to say that she couldn't be sure that I even bought it there - that I could have bought it elsewhere and was trying to scam them. There was ZERO customer service coming from her - all scrutiny. She made me very embarrassed and frustrated. Other women shopping while this guy haggles over vibrator... Then she made it clear she didn't deserve any contempt from me over the situation. She scrutinized me like I was a thief and a scammer really made me feel bad - over a not working toy return??? What dude would go into a women's lingerie store to try to conduct a vibrator return scam? Finally, she told me I didn't need to shop there next time.... I won't. Suggest you don't either. read more
