Service A+ I had a 12:30 appointment and because of my circumstances my husband and I were coming through sturgeon bay 45 minutes earlier than expected. They require appointments and yet they were very behind. They were so rushed that couldn't do a foot spa (not sure what they exactly call it), too busy they said. My nails were rough, the application was poor at best and no soaking my hands to save time so no cuticle work. Most staff does not speak English so that's a huge problem. They do not use sterile tools. My gel manicure didn't even last 2 weeks. I would not go back. read more

Had an appointment for 3:00 and at 3:45 I left. When asked I was told "you next, you next". Did book again but Manicure was very poorly done and she cut me 4 times. When pointed this out to manicurist she did nothing to correct the situation Just looked at me and talked to another manicurist in her native language and handed me the bill. I have been getting my nails done at Fanci Nails periodically for almost three years, and while often they do a nice job, and the owner seems to be a nice guy who runs a busy, successful business, I have had one too many terrible experiences here. It can be very challenging to communicate what I would like done, since many of the stylists don't speak fluent English. But that's the least of the problems. Most recently the woman who began working on my nails was very aggressive and kept hurting me as she removed the old polish. After the third time I winced, pulled my hand away I asked her if she had ever done this before. She looked at me with a blank stare and the shop manager gestured for me to switch to another stylist. While the second person did a nice job and was gentle, but I felt rattled by the whole experience. I have tried to only book appointments with people who do a nice job and don't leave me with little cuts in my fingertips, but they are not always available. I hadn't been to Fancy Nails in quite awhile. I booked an appointment for a ombré fill. I was taken right on time. The nail tech was amazing! He fixed my previously done fill that was a strange color and was too thick. My nails now look amazing! read more

Asked for golden or rust chrome gel polish. I kept asking when they would put the gold or color chrome on. They said at the end. The finish project was a white glittery nail. Hideous. Something a child would wear. Not what I asked for. Nails are also lumpy and uneven. Asked them to make the correction with that and they weren't able to. Do not go to this establishment. Charged me $50 for the worse nails I have ever had. read more

My wife and I are regular summer customers. All ways make a 9am appointment every three weeks. To day my daughter was subbing for my wife, since she was visiting and recently had her first baby. We arrived at 9 and left at 9:30 without so much as we'll be with you. Tim was there as the husband/wife team and the other girl. They were all working on people. Funny since they open at 9. My wife might go back, but I certainly will not. Guess tourist are more important that regulars? read more

I will note, I didn't actually get my nails done here. So I can't review them on their work, this is for their customer service. My friend and I wanted to get mani pedis so she called fancy nails to see it there were any open appointments. A man answered and my friend asked "Hi, do you have any openings for appointments today?" and he very rudely said. "No." That was it. That was all he said. She continued to ask if he could fit just a pedi or anything but he just kept saying no as if he was annoyed or bothered. I tried to call myself hoping we maybe just got a really grumpy person. A woman answered this time. I first asked her how much they charge for a basic mani and basic pedi. She said $30 each. I was like "what?" What kind of place charges the same amount for a mani and a pedi?! So I then asked if they are busy today and if they could fit us in. She cut me off before I finished my sentence and rudely said, "Were full." It was very abrupt and abrasive. I just said..uh ok. So could we walk in? And she once again cut me off and said "Were full." It's one thing if one of your employees are rude and harsh with customers, we all have bad days. But when both of them are that rude and harsh it just shows how terrible of a business that person is running. read more

This salon was certainly not fancy. It's dirty and the plastic nail box was covered with mold. The owner was very rude and they kept passing me from one person to the next while talking a foreign language. I was told I didn't know what I wanted ( I wanted a French manicure). My old acrylic layer was torn off until I demanded my fingers would be soaked at least for a few minutes. The pain was excruciating when my first person ( owner) put my fingers in acetone and left to do a mani on someone else. I wanted nail polish they wanted to put gel on. This was truly the worst experience I've ever had in a nail salon. stay away!! read more

I'm sad to report that I had a TERRIBLE experience here today with the most angry, rude nail tech. Everyone she talked to she sounded exasperated and angels she kept saying "I make money on you"! Another woman didn't want her nails done with her, so I got her. I've been coming here a year I was shocked. She kept playing on her phone and sitting. While i soaked she sat on her phone. When my hand was under the UV she was on her phone. I asked her if I could have some lotion. She said "take it I don't care", even though I paid for full manicure I had to ask for hand cream and apply myself, I won't ever go there again. read more

My daughter and I had a great experience. The salon is very clean and the staff is very friendly. My pedicurist took a lot of time with me and my pedicure looks great. My daughter's pedicure and manicure looks wonderful, too. Thank you. Will be back. read more

I am going back again this summer, as we are Door County summer residents. Last summer I walked out because they were so late taking me. Then I went back to give them another chance and I had to wait again....................I NEEDED TO HAVE MY NAIL DONE - A FILL! I really need a nail salon close to Sister Bay! We like to go to Sturgeon Bay for groceries, Rotary, our favorite restaurant, and Walgreens for meds, so we go every 2-3 weeks. AWFUL! I just moved to Wisconsin so I decided to go to Fancy nails since it's one of the only nail salons in the area....... the first time I went I got acrylics with the gel color which I've been getting for the last 6 years. I'm pretty picky about my nails. WELL after I got my nails done one of them broke the NEXT day and then I realized all my nails were lifting off my real nails so water and dirt were getting in them... that's never happened to me so badly before. I made a second appt exactly 2 weeks later. I had to cut a lot of my nails off because they looked TERRIBLE from chipping. I made my appt for 12:30 and no one even started on my nails till 1 and it wasn't even the guy who I made the appt with... after explaining to them what happened last time they told me to get a new set and I said okay I'll give you guys one more chance. Well while the girl tried taking my old acrylics off she ended up ripping my REAL nail and told me to put it in the alcohol and I said no because I knew it would burn and she was like just try it it'll be fine. At that point I just left and I'm making the almost HOUR long trip to Green Bay to get them fixed. This is a terrible establishment. The only reason I'm leaving such a long review is because I want everyone to know if they are looking for a nail salon GO ANYWHERE ELSE but here. The staff were kind, professional, and did a great job, but, they need more workers. Even just a receptionist so that the client's work wasn't constantly interrupted by walk-ins. The day I came they were booked most of the day, and people kept coming in to schedule. Luckily the two workers they have are precise and quick, or they'd take forever to get anything done. read more

They let another lady go before us, even though we made an appointment, and told one of our friends to sit down then told her to get up so they could help someone else who they hadn't even finished. Edit: my nails came out really bad, not the shape I wanted, too thick, and too rounded. When I finally got them done it hurt a lot and they're sore. Not worth $30. read more

The worst manicure I've ever received. Got it four days ago and half of the gel has peeled off. Cuticles are all messed up, and several of the nails were jagged from a terrible filing job. They were 20 mins late starting me and then it took almost an hour because they were so distracted and the manicurist kept talking to people and getting up and walking around. ? Don't bother with appt they don't honor it anyway. Their pedicure is really a partial pedicure in any decent nail spa but priced the same. Not a fan! Communication skills limited making it hard to get the customer service you want. read more

My cousin, sister, and I went to go get manicures and pedicures for my baby shower. We called ahead to schedule our appointments and they said everything was set. When we got there, the lady that was working said she can only give us manicures and she can't do our pedicures. She wouldn't give us a reason why after asking a couple of times. As she was doing our nails she stopped mine in the middle and had me pay. It could have waited until after or even before. The next day, all of our nail polish chipped off. I work at a clothing store and made sure I was careful. My mom went back and the man that was working was really nice saying we could get them touched up but might have to be charged again. Do not honor appointments. I waited a half hour for a 4pm appointment and would have waited longer if I hadn't asked what was going on. While shaving callouses from my heel the nail tech began shaving skin. Even though I was bleeding, communicating this was difficult but I finally got her to stop. When the pedicure was completed and I asked "how much", the tech told me $30.00. The priced posted on the internet is $25.00. The cost for services is not posted in the shop. I have been a customer for at least five years and Tim is a good guy and does good work but he and his staff cannot manage their appointments and little respect for the people who have supported them when they had very little business especially in the winter! I had an appointment today and they left a message at 1:47 on my machine asking me to call regarding my 2pm appointment. My appt was for new nails and a pedicure. After I walked in at 2pm and picked my color, they said they called and left a msg. I was not home because I live 30 minutes from Sturgeon Bay (without traffic)! Then they said I couldn't have both-nails or toes. After acting like they were doing me a favor, I chose to leave! I realize they probably don't need the $90 it would have cost me and my nails look awful! I'm going to Green Bay on Thursday and know the job will get done and my nails will be great!! Until then, every time I look at my nails, I am angry at Fanci Nails!! I just gave my $90 plus tip to World Nails in Green Bay. read more
