Please read. I think this should be made known... I wouldn't wish what happened to me on anyone.
I've been going to Fancy Nails for as long as I can remember. It sometimes was a hit n miss on the job they did on me but since I was use to them an don't like change, I continued to go. They were never rude (although I wouldn't say nice) but that was before today. Today I walked into Fancy Nails. I had gone yesterday and gotten my nails done. 2 of my nails were put way too far down an were noticeably shorter than the rest. I was too tired yesterday to worry about it but today I politely called an asked if I wanted 2 nails redone an I paid for them, would it be a big deal to have them redone. Person on phone said no an to come right in. As someone who deals with major depression on a regular basis, and 7 days out of the week it's hard to get out of bed, let alone leave the house, I had to muster up all my courage an get ready to go. I walked into Fancy Nails an showed the owner what I needed done an she in turn told her mom what I needed done. Her mom then sat me down an said in 20 years no one has ever asked her to redo something. Since I was taught to be polite, I said "ma'am you did a beautiful job, it was just these 2 nails..." she then cut me off an said "Don't interrupt me, I'm talking. You are just too young. You're a perfectionist". (I'm 27) But I didn't say anything, I didn't know what to say. She then very forcefully started taking off my 2 nails. It hurt very bad but I didn't say anything. She said "yeah it hurts, doesn't it? That's cuz they are new, you aren't supposed to take them off this soon." I still said nothing. She then put on 2 new nails. She said "is this ok?" I said "yes ma'am it..." again I was cut off by her. "I'm just making sure so I don't have to redo them AGAIN". This whole time during getting this done, she talked low. After each thing she said to me, she'd look up an smile at all the other clients an talk to them so sweetly. As she was finishing up my nails, she then said to me, "don't you come in Fancy Nails anymore, we aren't good enough for you, you perfectionist." I again said nothing. I then looked at her daughter (the owner) an she looked back at me. I couldn't believe what was happening. As I walked out I started to think how Fancy Nails was the only nail shop I'd ever used. I got into my car, and started to sob.
It took 10 min to redo my 2 nails. Yet to her it was worth bullying someone. Her ego was worth more than someone's feelings. Maybe I was an easy target cuz I'm so shy, idk. I have no reason to make this up and unfortunately it did happen. I'm not saying that some there don't do a good job, but I'm taking the time to write this review because I feel you should know the kind of family you are or would be giving your business to. People who will turn on you if you ever question their work, even if you are a regular customer. I hope this review helps. Have a great day :) read more
