I recently moved to Charleston from South Florida and I have had a hard time finding a salon that worked for me. I couldn't be more pleased. Yesi took the time to really talk with me about what I wanted to do with my hair; leaving me confident with her assessment. She didn't try to push me into continuing to color and even encouraged me to give my hair a rest. She patiently explained how I could transition with semi-permanent and described how she could use low lights to help cover my gray. I also appreciated the extra time she spent talking with me about my hair coloring, given that I'd only come in for a cut. The cut and blow-out she gave me is just perfect. I have wavy frizzy hair which was layered too much. She quickly softened it up, leaving just enough layers to give me bounce and shape. The real test is always to see if my hair looks nice the next day. I am low maintence so I don't like to spend a lot of time on my hair so once I washed it at home I was surprised! This cut is perfect! It looks great even days after. I'm so happy to have found such a professional, friendly salon right here in Ladson. I will definitely return! I was introduced to Ginger by my mother, and I knew it was a match made in heaven after I walked out that salon door the first time Ginger did my hair! Fast forward to a few years later, I relocated back to New York City. For the first year or so, I traveled back and forth from SC to NYC to have Ginger color my hair (I told you I take my hair color seriously!), but after a while, I knew it wasn't economical to keep up with such an expensive habit. I started to try some of the top colorists here in NYC (and also paid top dollar $400+ NOT including the blowout because that's always additional ). Eventually, I found someone that was "OKAY" and stayed with them for the last few years but was never excited with the outcome of my hair. After my last hair appt here, I looked at my hair and just felt SO underwhelmed, and for $375, I want to feel HAPPY and that I got my money's worth! I finally said screw it, I'm going back to Ginger. I flew into Charleston on Friday with super dull and ashy blonde hair, and I got back on that plane with the most beautiful golden blonde highlights that I haven't had in so long!! I walked on that plane feeling like F*CKING Heidi Klum!!!! I FEEL AND LOOK F*CKING FANTASTIC, all thanks to my miracle worker, Ginger. Even after having good color jobs from the top salons in NYC, (Rita Hazan, Frederic Fekkai, Sally Hershberger), Ginger at Nola's tops them all! She evened out a few bands I had from a previous stylist, and got me to an amazing, even platinum color (from very dark brown hair). I have tried everything to try and get my hair back to normal. The cut she gave was not what I wanted exactly. It was styled nicely but the next day it was not the same. I asked for layers and I was given a more blunt cut. The cost? $400. I never had so many issues with my hair until I went to cruz. Never again.
