Tikka chicken Kati roll
Uzma K.

This is a new place in Carteret which is always needed because Carteret doesn't have so many food places. Happy I found it and tried it. There are SO many options and the food tastes very authentic and flavorful. Breakdown of the food as there were some pros and cons. The Kati roll is good, I wish it was on a roti because it looks like it made it on naan but I feel like kati rolls should be on thinner bread. The thali is good! Good portion for the bits and pieces of different foods, I had chicken tikka Masala and that was flavorful. It comes with naan or roti too I didn't eat the roti cause it already has rice Butter chicken empanada!!! Must try it was soo good and it's pretty huge! I was kind of nervous for $4.50 an empanada But it's worth it, the dough taste like its homemade, it's slightly thick but overall delicious :) The Hakka noodles/ the chef messed up and didn't add chicken cause that's what we were charged for and asked for. It was kind of bland I'm assuming it would've been more flavorful with chicken, it can use soy sauce or some other added sauce but still enjoyed it with all the veggies and everything! The shakanji is like an Indian lemonade, it has chaat Masala at the bottom I believe and it has a subtle taste but very good! Reminds me of how my mom makes it. The lamb keema quesadilla was very tasty as well. It had lettuce on the side I wish it came with at least a sauce to dip and maybe tomatoes it could use some sort of acid since it's just cheese and meat but it's very flavorful meat. Overall I'm excited to try more things since their menu is pretty expansive!! Needs a little tweaking but happy to support local businesses and a twist on any indo fusion.

Gobi Manchurian

This relatively new place showed up on my search for Indian food one day when I was looking for something to get delivered to my place and I'm glad that I gave this place a try. For starters, the menu is very different and unlike any traditional Indian restaurant. They menu has the traditional Indian entrees and appetizers along with some fusion items such as Naan Tacos, Burritos and Empanada to name a few. For my first ever order from this place I stuck to the traditional known items and I must say I quite liked what I got. I had ordered Tandoori Masala Chicken Wings, Gobi Manchurian, Chilli Chicken and Chicken Tikka Kati Roll. Chilli Chicken was super spicy and would advice people put special comments to make it milder if you can't handle the spice. Gobi Manchurian was good and the wings were decent. The Kati Roll left me wanting more. The stuffing tasted decent but the roll itself was big so everything came popping out after the first bite. Overall, a decent place for a first try. I would definitely try this place again to taste some more off the menu.

This is a photo of the menu on Uber eats where it says buy one get one free offer that this restaurant didn't honor

This place was good at first until I had a couple of issues with the food and how they treated me after spending hundreds of dollars there. I just ordered off Uber eats from this establishment. They didn't honor the buy one get on free offer and only gave me one pizza instead of two. I called them to find out what happened and they were disrespectful and hung the phone up on me twice just for asking why I didn't get my buy one get one free offer. The merchant went on saying that I had to buy 2 to get one for free which was a complete lie because it says buy one get one free not buy two get one free. The management in my opinion have no professionalism whats so ever and don't take any accountability for what they do. It's disgusting. They should be ashamed. And they'll only lose business treating customers this way. Now I will tell everyone I know my experience because it's complete nonsense. Especially from someone that lives in the neighborhood. If they are so unhappy and can't figure it out they shouldn't be in business. I hope you get my message and it resonates through your establishment. Maybe next time you won't hang up the phone and treat paying customers with disrespect. Also the yogurt for my biryani was sour and disgusting was spoiled

Absolutely delicious! I love the fusion of Indian and American style food they offer. The empanada was bursting with paneer and peppers, the pizza was AMAZING! This place is a must try! I'll be ordering again very soon.... and so will all my family and friends because this is my new spot!

Yes finally found a solid go to in Carteret! Customer service was top tier! Jesse was very nice and helped me decide what I wanted to eat. The food was so fresh and delicious! I got the butter chicken platter and butter chicken tacos. Give this place a try, you won't regret it!

Famous dhaba is a new Spot located in west carteret. I have tried the following and highly recommend to anyone: butter chicken, chicken quesadillas, and pizza. Very delicious and not too heavy. It beats traveling to Edison! Their ras malai and cupcakes are very fresh and delicious! Yum yum yum!

Shahi paneer, dal makhani

Parking is a bit narrow and gets crowded in peak times. Loved the interiors... lots of seats inside to sit and dine . Loved the dhaba style seating on the left . We actually got one and we loved the ambience . Service was ok .. not too notch but not too slow . Of course we ordered the kulchaaaaaaaaaa.. it was superrbbbbb. Mind boggling... very authentic. And it surely can be had by 2 people ! One cannot have the whole thing ! 10/10 kulcha . Other items we tried : Naan and paneer tikka - good Paneer green starter - very good Hats bara kabab - very average . Tasted raw and not fried/cooked well Chole batura - very good Gobi Manchurian - disaster . Should not have ordered Chinese dish in Punjabi restaurant Gajar halwa - disaster ! Wasn't sweet at all. We had to put 2 spoons of sugar to make it taste like halwa Apart from kulcha , we had mixed opinions on the food with most of the dishes not that tasty . May be it is not a place for vegetarians . I heard the non veg items had better reviews here . Overall , 3 stars wish other dishes are as awesome as their kulcha :)

Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. We checked the menu and price before we got there and made our orders through phone. The place was a delight to the eyes with so many Indian savories and sweets stacked. The shop is run by a sweet elderly couple and they seemed very courteous. The reason I rate this place a star less is because the samosas' price was little higher than what was given online and when enquired, were told that there is mismatch between what we saw online and they will work on fixing it. Nevertheless, we ordered 4 samosas, a bakora chaat and a pheni. The taste was so good and we will definitely be getting there often in future, to try the other items.

The check-in offer worked, although I had to ask again for the lassi - I think he forgot to put in the lassi order at first. One thing we didn't like is at the beginning you get a free papad basket and the waiter came around and asked if we wanted another basket later on - and assuming it was free we said yes, but on the bill they charged us for 1 order of papad. If we had known that we would've said no when he asked us if we wanted more papad. That was a bit sneaky of them. Also even though there is the free lassi check-in offer the original bill included the lassi cost. I had redeemed the check in offer in front of the waiter at the start of ordering. The waiter corrected the bill and removed the lassi. Otherwise it was good food in a spacious, nice place.

I have been going to India Palace since it first opened and in general all my dine in experiences have been great. The food is absolutely fantastic and the service is usually good. Sadly, my most recent experience ran contrary to all my previous ones. A few days ago, I arrived at India Palace late at night with a friend. As soon as I entered I saw two gigantic parties, about 15-20 men at two separate sections of the restaurant. They were loud and rowdy. I've hung out in enough bars to know that even with rowdiness, you can still have a good time. The problem was, the longer we were there, the party got louder and more profane. I could only make out about half of what they said, but what I could understand was absolutely repulsive and it clearly bothered other tables. The two waiters who were taking care of all the tables were overwhelmed, and it was clear they were not comfortable with the behavior of these parties. They did their best to keep them happy, but it was a very uncomfortable situation overall. When my friend went to the restroom, a group of these guys were hanging out outside the rest room and made it a point not to get out of her way, making it extremely uncomfortable for her when she tried to get past them. The staff was very apologetic to us, and the even made sure to give us a discount on our bill to make up for the trouble. I do not blame them at all. They were in an impossible situation. My recommendation is this: you should absolutely visit this restaurant, but if you go in and see a small army of patrons being loud and rowdy, turn around and come back another time.
