One of my rescues has a growth that could be malignant; I needed a vet in the area and was referred to Paul Klainbard by the shelter. He is kind, caring and knowledgeable. He was exceedingly helpful and his staff is patient, courteous and compassionate. I don't know what happened to the dude in 2022 and I'm very sorry his dog passed away but there must be something more to the story as I cannot imagine these people ignoring a pet in need. I have five all together and this is now our family veterinarian. read more

We just started going here and my mom loves Dr. Arrucci! My two dogs love him and the rest of the staff that they have seen such as the Techs etc. The receptionists are helpful and friendly and although I have never been there I am so happy to have found a vet for my dogs and cats that are literally 5 minutes from our house! We moved up to Ossining 5 years ago from Yonkers and my cats hated the drive back down to the vet if they had to go and then back up here. SO HAPPY WE FINALLY FOUND A NEW VET FOR THEM CLOSE TO THE HOUSE! read more

I just want to say that I switched from my old vet to you guys and it was the best move I made the staff is very friendly helpful the vets are amazing the texts are great they're honest and I can finally say after going through different vets that they care about your pet and it's not just about making money and that's very hard to find these days so I give them 10 Stars and I feel great that my pets go there and they'll be in the best care thanks again it's very hard to find a place that are honest and they don't push things on you that you have to get done they work with you and to me that's the biggest thing read more

I am a brand new patient for our Jada girl! Dr. Lu and Junior (vet tech) we're lovely! Immediately greeted as soon as I arrived, seamless with their attention of getting us into a room. I have a Rottweiler so they were so quick with their attention and on Time with the appt. Dr. Lu was lovely! Very patient, informative, had answered all my questions! I'm so glad I found them and can't wait to continue to see them for our fur baby! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! read more

We had a great first visit at Family Veterinary Care. The staff and vet were efficient, clear and very respectful of their clients and pets. We enjoyed talking with the vet and his coworker. It's about time I get to reviewing this place. I don't even know where to start with all the great things I have to say. I have a 1 year old rescue dog who I've had for 4 months and is a new patient here as of 2 weeks ago (dumping our previous AWFUL vet) - I called in a panic because I found a tick crawling on her at 3:30pm, they took me in at 4pm to see the vet tech. They pulled the tick right off, thankfully it was only crawling and not latched on yet. Dr Klainbard did not even charge me for that visit. I purchased a Seresto collar, made an appt for 2 weeks later to get blood tests for Lyme and off we went. A week later my pup was itching her ears BADLY. I called that day and again, they took me in IMMEDIATELY. This time we saw Dr. K, who checked Katie over so gently and thoroughly, she didn't flinch or move as the vet tech (he was so gentle too) just held and comforted her. He gave her ear drops for a deep ear infection in BOTH ears, which I was told by our previous vet in February she didn't have any ear issues although she'd be scratching them like crazy, as well as allergy pills for spring allergies. The Dr explained everything so well and told me to come back in a week to see how her ears were doing, again, at no charge. This morning, Katie threw up, A LOT, very unlike her. Of course I called the office immediately and Dr K got right on the phone and spoke to me, making me feel better and that based on my description of the situation, he was not worried at all. Thankfully we will be seeing him on Tuesday for the Lyme blood tests. The point of all this is that all of these visits and calls within less than 2 weeks of having first gone there, and no one in the office seemed annoyed or irritated with me. The office staff couldn't be any more pleasant, accommodating or helpful. I really feel Dr K and his staff are truly dedicated to animals and that is the most important thing I could ask for when having to trust someone to take care of Katie, who is a part of my family. read more

Family Veterinary Care - After Katie's visit with Dr K!!! - Veterinarians Near Me - Ossining, New York

What can I say other than I drive to Dr Klainbard from Yonkers because he is the best. The office staff is just as caring as the doctor. Always asks before doing any tests and keeps within your budget. My Yonkers people it's only 25 minutes to his office. I promise you will not be disappointed read more

I adopted a dog with challenging behavioral issues and made the tough decision to switch vet practices (I absolutely loved my former vet and the entire practice) to Family Veterinary Care. I was told by the shelter that Dr. Klainbard and his team are the absolute best with the toughest dogs and they were absolutely correct. Doesn't hurt that Family Vet is within walking distance and the prices are low for the area. I've been most impressed with Stephanie, one of the vet techs, who has taken the time to get to know my dog both during and outside of regular appointments. When we come, they make sure Stephanie is available, which reduces stress on my dog and ensures a safer visit for everyone. I'm also pleased with how much they trust and listen to me to be involved in his care. They respond to calls and emails quickly and I feel really good about the overall care we receive. read more

I don't know how this place has 5 star reviews. This vet is a piece of shit. Especially the staff at the front desk. I called 3 times to have my dog seen and nobody ever got back to me after being told 3 times that the doctor will call me back. I had to take my dog to another vet and found out he had cancer. He ended up passing away a few days later. Fuck this place and everyone who works there. read more

What an AMAZING place!! I had to find a new vet after my old vet was brought up on animal abuse charges. It was not easy as I have elder and special needs cats. A friend recommended Family veterinarian care and there were so caring and empató my needs. My heart is happy. Thank you for calming my worrisome heart with your warmth and kindness. We will see you all soon with the other kitties. read more

If I could give them 50 stars I would. Every single person working here is great, from the front desk to the techs, to both Vets! I'm in healthcare and have been very involved with Tri-State Vizsla rescue. I've worked with many Vets and can confidently say that Dr Paul K is the best... hands down. He's caring, compassionate and has great follow-up. He explains things, he gives you options on treatments and keeps you involved in the decision making along the way. He's fairly priced so you don't feel you're being taken advantage of like you do with other Vets. I've had to put dogs down and he could not have been more humane. I've had dogs with medical problems and he was spot on with his diagnosis and treatments! He also has a great network of specialist who respect him as much as I do. Family Veterinary Care in Ossining is the only place anyone should ever take their pets. Ten out of ten!!!! read more

Everyone in this office is unbelievably nice and caring. My dog loves to come here. Dr.Klainbard always explains everything he is doing. We highly recommend this office! read more

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Klainbard and his team!! We've been taking our 3 dogs there since we moved to the area a few years ago. They really care about our dogs, and they take plenty of time to explain things and discuss options. They squeeze us in when we have an emergency. Prices are reasonable. I have absolutely no complaints. We've been to a lot of vets over our 25 years of pet ownership, and Family Veterinary Care is by far the absolute best!!! read more

Dr. Paul Klainbard and his associates are some of the most compassionate and down to earth veterinarians and vet techs you'll find, period. You get top quality care at extremely fair prices (a little on the low price side, honestly) from vets with senses of humor and kindness rivaled only in magnitude by their medical expertise. When I was younger, I even did an internship here, so I even know the behind the scenes- he really does care about your pet 24/7, it's not just for show, and he goes above and beyond in ways that the pet owners don't get to see- that's in addition to the ways you can already see clear as day! He'll always be honest with you as well. I unfortunately had a dog develop intestinal cancer some years back, and he told me directly and honestly that chemotherapy wasn't worthwhile- it was always more for the owner than the pet. On the flip side, he's on top of new vaccines for emerging illnesses before a majority of vets in the area catch on, like that thing that was just barely starting to be seen in dogs a while ago. His patients were some of the first in the area to get that shot. They don't do exotics, but you won't find a better primary vet for your dog or cat, no matter how long you search. read more

I love this office and Dr Klainbard. Kind, patient, on time, conservative with my money and treatment. Highly recommend. I've lived in several cities and have used many vets. This office is my favorite. read more

Please do yourself a favor - don't read any further and just trust those 5 star reviews across the web. This Vet literally is as popular as a Rockstar in town. When I first moved here he was the one everyone at the Dog Park raved about. For weeks .... Then visiting the pet stores nearby for the first time... again - everyone raved about Dr. Klainbard and his wife. And so it continues.... If you did read any further - just know that you and your furry family will be in exceptional hands from the moment you first get in touch - and experience a welcoming, friendly, responsive vet team that cares about all their existing and new patients.... It goes without saying that he will take care of your pet(s) in a way you probably only experienced when watching a "too good to be true Hollywood movie". Honestly, before I met Dr. Klainbard, his wonderful wife and team, I thought this is the material movies are based on. If you live nearby, don't think any further... If you need to commute, also don't think any further. Genuinely caring, open minded, humble, extremely friendly, team that actually listens to its patients and goes above and beyond. This is truly a gem. Dear Yelp - please add a sixth star option, otherwise I remain with my five star plus plus rating. read more

Dr. Klainbard is simply the best. We met 5 years ago and my Airedale and I followed him to his new clinic. Dr. Klainbard is trustworthy, extremely knowledgeable and very caring. He really loves animals and does his best for their wellbeeing. He always finds a moment to see us even when we stop for nails trimming. Very nice and friendly office and very helpful to get an appointment. read more

We have had cats in our household for many years, and like many pet owners, we treat them like family members. We currently have four kiitties ranging in age from 3 to 11 and we have been clients of Dr. Klainbard since he started his career at another practice in Ossining. We find him to be honest and professional as well as willing to listen to our concerns about our cats. Our two 11 year olds have a number of medical conditions including rhinitis, arthritis, IBD and thyroid disease and Dr. Klainbard has done a great job of managing their care and medications. He is not reticent about seeking consultations with specialists and where necessary, he has made referrals. We went on a European cruise last summer and made arrangements for a pet sitter to stop by our house and take care of the cats, including administering their medications. Several days into the cruise, our pet sitter developed medical issues and was unable to care for the cats or to provide a replacement sitter. We seriously considered returning home, but were able to contact Dr. Klainbard, who fortunately had just opened his new practice. He stepped in and had his staff stop by our house to take care of the cats for the remainder of our vacation. We would readily recommend Dr. Klainbard to anyone looking for veterinary services. read more

Yesterday was the first time I have ever been to Family Veterinary Care of Ossining with my fur baby Poppy. I was very impressed with the staff who were friendly and all so professional, and of course with Dr. Klainbard who really took the time to answer my questions and was very detailed. He even took the time to call early in the evening to check on Poppy. Thank you Dr. Klainbard and staff! read more

Dr. Klainbard was absolutely fantastic! We're from out-of-state, and are in Ossining visiting family for the holidays. One of our pups ripped a nail open pretty badly at the dog park today, and we called to see if we could have it looked at. The staff was super accommodating and got us in for an appointment this afternoon. Dr. Klainbard was super nice and extremely knowledgeable. When our dog warmed right up to him, letting him investigate her very sensitive & raw quick, I could tell what a quality veterinarian he is. He gave us extremely top notch care at a super affordable price. Very, very satisfied and highly recommended! Im so glad to have a vets office that we trust whenever we're in town with our fur babies! If I lived in Westchester, I would definitely use him as our vet! read more

Dr Klainbard and his staff were professional and caring. I have had awful experiences in the past with vets who overcharge, ordering a ton of tests that arent at all necessary. Dr K is honest has common sense as well as sophistication. The staff is helpful and friendly, even helping me carry supplies and my pet into my car. I travel 35 minutes to get here and its well worth it to feel confident that my pet is being cared for approppriately. I would recommend Dr K and his staff to anyone who cares about their pet. read more

All the 5 star reviews are true, Dr. Klainbard and his staff are first rate. We entrust both our cat and pup to the care of this practice and would not change vets even if you paid us to. We can not add anything that has not already been said in other posts. Great Doctor period. read more

Dr. Klainbard is a fantastic person and Vet!!! He is not only gentle and kind to animals, he cares for the owners feelings. We had to put one of our dogs to sleep. He let us grieve for as long as we needed with her and was so compassionate. We have 3 other dogs of varying ages and 2 cats. Every animal loves him. We have been to other vets that made us feel uncomfortable because we have so many. Each and every one is cared for and loved and he makes us feel proud of having them. Some people find their perfect calling in life and I think he did. We cannot recommend him any higher, he reaches the pinnacle! read more

We found out about this place because my wife is a volunteer at the Paws Crossed Animal Shelter in Elmsford and started taking some of the rescue dogs here. I don't often do reviews for Yelp, but just had to for this one, and I see I'm not the first to be impressed. So I can totally confirm the many positive comments left by other reviewers. And I'll add this: Dr. Klainbard is really good at explaining things, sharing his clinical thinking, and offering alternatives. And his prices are really reasonable. Other practices I've experienced tend to look at you as an income stream and are more likely to push expensive services that may not be necessary. Dr. Klainbard's approach is more like how can he help this animal and do so in the most conservative and price-conscious manner. We are very fortunate to have found him. read more

Today was my first time taking my cat to the vet and everyone there was so gentle with her and reassuring with me. Paul was very careful to explain the shots she needed and was conscientious about not hitting me with unexpected costs. I really couldn't have had a better experience. A+ read more

I usually only review restaurants I visit but my latest experience with Dr. Paul Klainbard is worth noting! When my best friend Melo got sick I brought him over to Family Vet. Care for expedited care after my first choice was booked until June. I am so glad I brought him here. Dr. Klainbard and his staff went above and beyond for Melo and treated us with such friendliness and care from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Dr. Klainbard treats and exams your dog for what he believes he has/requires, I didn't have to ask him to advise me of everything he is doing to Melo like you would with some veterinarians. He did what he believed was required which I myself saw was needed too and even followed up days later with a phone call! Melo seemed to love him and the staff as well which is a huge plus! I couldn't stop raving about this experience with my friends and family. We will definitely be trusting Dr. Klainbard and his staff with Melo's care from now on. read more
