Please let me tell you about Family Mortgage. First I should tell you I am a Realtor. I have dealt with my share of mortgage companies. There are always unforeseen things that come up and it's up to the buyer to take care of them. The most common problem is usually that if the person handling your mortgage is not available, no one else can help you because they don't know anything about your mortgage and closing. The most help they can offer is to take a message. My first experience with Family Mortgage was when a buyer of mine used them for his mortgage. I was concerned because to make the deal work we had to get the mortgage in a very short time period. I could not believe how they were right on top of everything. They were ready to close in less than a month. I was kept informed every step of the way, which is a huge help when trying to coordinate everything for a closing. As for the unforseen things that come up, Family Mortgage is proavtice, actually anticipating and being prepared for every possible outcome. They do everything in their power to resolve issues on the buyer's behalf. They were a pleasure to work with. So, of course, when it was time for me to get a mortgage for my new home I wanted the same experience. I called Evan at Family Mortgage. Mine was a short sale and I also had a time deadline. Because I was buying my home I was very emotionally involved. I really thought I was going to make Evan crazy. I found, however that most times before I could even ask, Evan was on the phone with answers to the questions he knew I was going to ask. Evan didn't work alone for me, hence the name, Family Mortgage. Theresa was also there every step of the way always helping and knowing exactly where we were in the closing process. They took care of everything, right down to a great price on my homeowners insurance! They had me ready to close in two weeks. I know that sounds impossible, but they are amazing! I can not thank everyone at Family Mortgage enough..They are truly the best at what they do!! My original close date was scheduled for July 15th; however the listing agent went to the property on the 13th to change locks and noticed the AC unit had been stolen. Evan immediately contacted a friend of his and was able to get a replacement quote ASAP to submit to the home insurance company. We then rescheduled the close date for the 22nd. Evan and Teresa worked on getting all the close documents resubmitted with the date change as well as continuing to keep my rate locked in. A few days later and we finally got the insurance approval to replace the AC unit; however by this time the bank negotiator realized that the original appraisal has now expired! Once again my close date would change and Family Mortgage would have to redo all the documents again. We were never given a new close date from the bank and everyone was on standby...On July 27th I received a call from my agent stating the bank negotiator has decided we MUST close today!!! OMG, the AC is not installed yet, Evan has to redo all the closing documents and get approval. In the back of my mind I'm thinking NO WAY can we get everything done to close today....Well, I was wrong! Evan immediately called his friend and scheduled for the AC unit to be installed by 5pm; he then put together all the documents once again and had them submitted to the title company in 30 minutes!! The AC unit was installed by 2:30pm and we received the keys by 4:30...Finally my nightmare of a short sale had ended with the help of everyone at the Family Mortgage I am proud to say I now own my first home!
