I tried this laundromat four times, because it is closest to my apartment. However, my experience there today was the last straw, and I will never go back unless it gets sold to a new owner.
The place is always dirty. Today, it was filthier than I've ever seen it. Considering our current situation in this country with covid-19, I was so surprised at how dirty the facilities were. There was a thick layer of dust and sticky gunk on every surface. The inside of every washing machine I looked in had gobs of wet dog hair. I decided to wash my clothes there anyway, hoping the dog hair wouldn't transfer onto my clothing.
While I was running an errand, apparently (according to the owner), the washing machine I was using began to leak all over the floor, and she had to call her service guy to come fix it, which is fine. But, she said she started the machine over again after he fixed it, and that she added a box of detergent to my load.
Well, when I pulled my clothes out of the washer, they were dirtier than before I put them in, and were covered in that dog hair. Very politely, so as not to offend her, I showed her my dirty clothes and asked very nicely if she could spare $2 for me to wash them again in a different machine. She became very defensive, denying any responsibility for the state of my clothes, or that anything was wrong with her machines. (Even though she just had to have that machine serviced.) She kept blaming me for anything wrong that might have happened, and refused to give me $2 to re-wash my clothes. I told her that I understood, and that I didn't mean to be a pain, but that I literally did not have the extra money to wash my clothes again and still be able to afford to dry them. I even offered to pay her back later (even though this was clearly not my fault - the washing machines were simply run-down and filthy). She still refused, and tried to argue with me.
I smiled and put up my hands and said, "It's no problem, I can just wash them again, and I'll hang dry them at home. No worries." And that is what I did. I don't like to argue. I don't like to cause problems. But this woman was very rude, and has very poor business skills, if this is how she handles problems.
Also, almost half of her machines had sticky notes saying, "Out of Order."
So the choices were very limited. I wouldn't have written this review if she had just apologized and loaned me the $2, instead of trying to make me think everything was my fault. She was rude and mean, and her laundromat is a disgusting haven for germs. Also, the parking lot is covered in horrific pot holes. read more
