Engagement ring
Donna L.

I love this family owned jeweler! Stopped in here and dropped off my engagement ring after a stone came out. They did a fabulous job replacing it, redoing all my prongs and my shank for a very good price! My ring looks beautiful! Wonderful, friendly and attentive people! Thank you everyone at Falls Jewelers!

Sam is amazing! I was in Europe and my fiancé was in Hawaii. Sam worked with my mom in North Carolina. I had a specific ring in mind I wanted to get for my fiancé. Sam was able to just look at a few pictures and started spewing off dimensions because he knows his craft. He created a CAD drawing, then a wax model, then the rough gold ring without polish, diamonds, and prongs shaped. He then added the diamond and polished away. My fiancé, family, and friends are all blown away by the ring. Sam is first class in the customer service business and is an expert in his craft. I have already gone back and gave him more of my business.

My watch stopped working, and replacing the battery had been sitting on my to-do list. I normally…read moretrek out to SouthPark Mall, but I wasn't looking forward to making that drive just for a watch battery. I searched Yelp for watch repair and discovered Bailey's Fine Jewelry on Providence Road, just a few miles from Uptown. What a wonderful discovery. From the moment I walked in, this felt different from your typical jewelry store. Bailey's is a beautiful, spacious, family-owned jeweler, but what impressed me most was how welcoming and comfortable the experience felt. Bailey's has been locally owned in North Carolina since 1948, and the Charlotte location carries on the legacy of longtime Charlotte jeweler Morrison Smith. I was greeted immediately and escorted to the watch counter. The associate taking care of me offered coffee, tea, a soft drink or sparkling water while I waited. I chose sparkling water and was handed a glass bottle of Perrier tucked into a black Bailey's koozie. Now that is a nice touch. While they worked on my watch, I wandered around. The store is gorgeous and much larger than I expected, with fine jewelry alongside beautiful gifts, frames, crystal, jewelry boxes and other pieces. I also appreciated being able to browse without feeling followed or pressured. The clientele was equally welcoming and refreshingly diverse--different ages, backgrounds and styles. Nobody needed to look a certain way to belong there. For a high-end jewelry store, I found that especially refreshing. You can also see into the watchmaking/work area through glass, which I loved. Everything looked immaculate and organized, and being able to see the professionals at work added a sense of transparency. Eventually I settled into one of the big club chairs by the windows with my Perrier and a jewelry magazine. A gentleman brought my finished watch directly to me on a little velvet tray. Such an elegant touch for something as simple as replacing a battery. Then came the biggest surprise. I walked over to pay, and the associate told me there was no charge for the battery replacement. Instead, Bailey's asks customers to make a donation to a local charity. How fantastic is that? I later looked it up because I wanted to understand the program. Bailey's calls it "A Time to Give." Rather than charging customers for watch-battery replacement, Bailey's absorbs most of the cost and asks for a charitable donation instead. Each store selects organizations to support, and Bailey's says the program has now donated more than $1 million to the communities it serves. I happily donated $20. As I was leaving, I tried to return the Bailey's koozie and just take my Perrier. Nope. She told me to keep the koozie, too. From a customer-service and branding perspective, somebody at Bailey's understands hospitality. That little black Bailey's koozie is coming home with me, and every time I use it, I'll remember this experience. That's how you create a customer--and perhaps an accidental brand ambassador. My only caution is parking. The Charlotte store is directly on Providence Road, and the front parking area is tight. Pulling back into fast-moving traffic requires patience, so take your time. I'm going to investigate whether there's another parking option for my next visit. And there will be a next visit. I went to Bailey's Fine Jewelry because I needed a watch battery. I left wanting to come back and explore the store. That says a lot. So if your watch has stopped ticking, don't automatically head to the mall. Bailey's offers watch-battery replacement, and that simple errand supports something much bigger in the community. Life is too short not to sleep well, eat well, travel well--and now I'm adding shop well. Bailey's Fine Jewelry, you've officially made the list.

I recently brought in a small custom design order and was assisted by Ed (customer service…read moreextraordinaire). In the process of completing the order, an unfortunate miscommunication occurred which Ed handily addressed and resolved with real finesse, reflecting his years of experience performing effective customer interface in the jewelry business. Thank you for everything, Ed (and thank you Bailey's for recognizing Ed's talent and ability handling the inevitable glitches which can arise when serving the public). I remain a satisfied Bailey's Fine Jewelry customer---thanks to Ed's swift response and expertise.

One of my wife's favorite Jewelery Stores…read more We've been going to Brownlee Jewelers for close to 20 years now even going back to when this location was at South Lake Shoppeing Center in Cornelius. Staff is friendly and helpful and go out of their way. Went shopping today for a replacement for my Movado watch which recently died. Brownlee tried multiple times to get in fixed and in the end, we had to admit defeat and now I am shopping for a replacement. Good selection and while we did not purchase a watch today, we will probably end up buying one of them when we make up our mind. Original watch was a present from my wife when we were dating 20 years so it lasted a lot longer than most of my watches. Brownlee kept it going for many of those years.

I do not want to even give them 1 star! I dropped off 2 watches for repair, they took pictures of…read morethe items when I dropped them off. When I got them back I have a Martin and Macalister Koa wood watch that was totally destroyed. The hand carved wood band had been completely stripped and I DO MEAN DESTROYED! They acknowleged it at first because it was so obvious because they had pictures! They said they were looking into it, but came back with "the watch came back the same as it left". TOTAL LIE!!! ANd, they knew it! If they will lie so blantanly with pictures as proof, they will lie about anything, such as steeling your good diamonds and replacing them with cheap shit. That is a common practice among untrustworthy establishments such as Brownlee Jewelers. DO NOT TRUST THEM with ANYTHING!!! Not a repair, not a new purchase...I MEAN NOTHING! They are liars and cheaters.

Updated review I spoke with Mrs. Cynthia Perry the manager she really listened to my concerns and…read morespoke with the associate. She is really committed to great customer service. I feel better knowing that the situation was handled by management and I would be glad to go back in the future knowing that. I have been going to this Jared for years since 2015 and have had great service from many different employees of this store so I hate that I have to leave this negative review. My visit this past Sunday just didn't sit well with me. I had the rudest associate ever! Her name was Cynthia T. As soon as I told her what I was there for which was first to get a necklace of mines fixed the first thing she said was "Are you sure you got this from here? I haven't seen this here before". She didn't even pull up my account before asking just assuming I don't know where I got it from. Next I said I need to get MY ring sized as well. She looks at MY ring I took off MY finger and asked me "Is this your ring?" I said "Yes" she then did a snarky laugh. I'm not sure what she was trying to imply as if I couldn't own a nice ring or that my ring wasn't nice. It did not end there I tried to ignore all of that when she finished I said thanks have a good day. This lady looked at me and simply said "Thanks" not you too just thanks. I have years of customer service experience and it's just common courtesy to say you too. I came with my 4 children and husband they have this play area that they love 3 of 'em were able to play while I was being assisted so I went over there to gather them and let them know it was time to go. As we were walking to the door she, loudly said to my husband from the back of the store to my husband at the door "Mr. Carr! Do you have ALL your kids?" That put the icing on the cake for me. I was just flabbergasted how someone could be so rude at an establishment where you pay so much money for their items. I will likely avoid this Jared from now on! We have spent too much money with Jared to be treated with such disrespect.
