These people are awful! After being a loyal customer for several years, they left our 80+ year old…read moremother high and dry when she needed their services most. Citing a "policy change" and without so much as 72-hours notice, they abruptly discontinued services. This is unconscionable. Spectrum is clearly more concerned with the cost of their insurance vs. the needs and well-being of their clients. That may work when selling widgets, but they're jeopardizing people's lives with their shameful practices. Thankfully, there are plenty of firms in the Portland area that offer home care for seniors. I would strongly advise anyone/everyone to find a firm other than Spectrum.

My brothers and I went to this business for help figuring out what to do about our family members…read moreevolving memory issues. They showed the highest form of business integrity by providing us with several consultation style phone calls free of charge. In the end it was suggested that we use a service that was a little closer to where our family member is located. They were able to link us with this other, un-affiliated business, after bringing that business up to speed about our circumstances. I found this to be of excellent character because rather than just take our money, they pointed us to the best possible option for our family. In addition, their staff was friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate and sensitive to our situation. These are all traits that one seeks in such a delicate time as we are faced with as a family. While it is honest for me to say that we did not actually use their services directly, everything about our interactions with this business deserved the five star rating we have awarded them in this review.

My mother went to BaySquare after a fall at home. It was an adjustment to transition from home to…read morean assisted living, but she quickly became very happy there. She loved the social aspects...sitting by the fireplace talking with friends, sharing meals with others, exercise classes and Bingo. The care, meals and activities provided a balance for her happiness. Her care was exceptional. The staff were personal, caring and compassionate. They took the time and really got to know her and her likes and needs. Mom's last days of life were spent at BaySquare. It was so comforting for her to be there, at home, with people she knew and loved caring for her. BaySquare nursing staff treated her with great dignity and supported our family in this time of need. As a family member, there is nothing I would change about my mother's experience at BaySquare.

Why five stars? One one occasion when they didn't have the medicine we needed, one of the pharmacists actually put on his coat and drove to another pharmacy to get it... WHILE WE WAITED!
