Some even requested just underwear that fit. Their needs were simple, and with the community donating wonderful items Bargain Box was able to make it happen. They are run by volunteers, and every penny goes to clothes for children in need. Everyone that works there is friendly and welcoming. It's so clean and inviting. This is how you run a thrift store, unlike the ones we recently went to in Lancaster, charging outrageous amounts for used things they got for free. Discount mart carries accessories such as scarves, hats, scarves, and gloves displayed in laundry baskets up near the cash register. They have a huge selection of supplies for the office, cleaning, and party planning. They carry toys, toiletries, bath and body products, hair accessories, dishware, and kitchen gadgets. There is an entire aisle full of small electric appliances like toasters, waffle irons, food processors, coffee makers, and blenders. Sunglasses and reading glasses are $2.99 each. CDs of Mexican music (with scandalously clad models gracing the cover art) are $3.99 each. The prices are slightly higher than at the dollar stores, but they are providing an important service to members of this community, many of whom may not have access to larger discount chain stores.

And honestly, some of the things I've found here are even better than what I've ever scored at Ross! Now, let's talk about security. It's... a little much. The way they stop you at the door feels like you're about to enter an exclusive club--except instead of checking your ID, they just make you stand there awkwardly for like five seconds before dramatically moving the line divider and letting you in. No idea what that's about, but the security team always looks mad, like they personally don't want you in their store. It's kind of funny but also kind of weird.
