From the very first day of working with him to plan and organize our trip of a lifetime, we felt we were in great hands. Phil's fantastic first-hand knowledge of the camps allowed him to create a trip that far surpassed the typical group package deals. Phil meticulously plans every detail of the trip, from the best places to stay to recover from jet lag before the safari, to every transfer. You are never left wondering where to go or if someone will be there to meet you. The camps he chooses are small and personal, where you are taken care of and treated like family. The safari experience is second to none, with personal drivers and guides who are excellent, highly skilled, and knowledgeable. If you want a safari experience to remember, I can't recommend Phil and On Safari-In enough!

We didn't know anything about going on safari, and Phil build a custom trip that catered to exactly our personal travel style of going to some of the more off-the-beaten-path places with fewer tourists, but still lots of amazing experiences (we watched a family of elephants chase off a pair of male lions!). Everyone we met was on their 4th or 10th safari and when they found out we'd never been before, they'd always ask, "So how did you even find this place?" Also I had no idea you could have a vacation with this much adventure and yet zero stress. Having Phil take care of everything and getting it all arranged for and paid in advance took a HUGE load off of us, which was so great as we both have jobs where we typically do a lot of planning and project management. By taking care of that, Phil let us go on an exciting vacation where we actually got to RELAX. We took literally THOUSANDS of amazing photos, but here are just a couple fun ones I shot with my phone.

We enjoyed an amazing late lunch at the Black Dog Arts Cafe in Snoqualmie, WA…read more They're pretty well known for their amazing food (completely vegetarian, mostly vegan options) and cozy, artsy retro type atmosphere. We haven't had the occasion to visit in maybe a year or two so .. we were definitely overdue! We appreciated the friendly, charming nature of our server and the wide assortment of options to choose from! I'm going to start with the cookies because ...O...M...Goodness, we bought one Ube cookie and one Cardamom. We haven't tasted the Ube yet (we're pacing ourselves lol) but the Cardamom was delicious and soooo soft, even though we didn't try it until a couple of hours later! My wife ordered the Deli Wrap, house deli slices, vegan cheeze, and beautiful micro greens while I ordered two items, a Mock Tuna sandwich made of chickpea salad and vegan mayo as well as their Mushroom Oat Groat soup. I only had a bite of Sandi's wrap but it was delicious and she seemed to love it. The soup I ordered had a really rich delicious mushroom depth about it, very tasty with lots of good veggie bits in there. The Mock Tuna was hearty, filling, very tasty .. and I appreciated that it came with chips and a piece of pineapple and apple. We had visited Mexico a couple of years ago. The vegan options we had while there, they were WAY more fresh and vibrant than what you typically regularly find here in the U.S.. Instead of using stock items like Impossible or Beyond (which I have nothing against, I love both products), the burgers are usually made from scratch using, beans, beets, whatever fresh ingredients you can imagine! The freshness of the ingredients really hits the palette in a big way! So, that was totally my experience at Black Dog today. Our lunch was fresh and vibrant and I left feeling full but not bloated or overwhelmed. On an aside, I appreciate the option to order half a sandwich, that's very helpful to keep gluttony at bay They regularly have all kinds of events there so I recommend checking out their page and plan visit for a fun event, amazing food, and delightful service.

All the desserts and baked goods are vegan and many are also gluten free. Tofu rueben was messy and delicious with a thick slab of seasoned tofu slathered with sauerkraut, sauce, and melty coconut-based cheese. Soup of the day was a beetroot with cashew cream and dill, savory and so delicious that my partner who hates beets loved it. We also tried the special (anticuochoa bowl) which is absolutely worth trying. A bed of quinoa and kale topped with faux chick'n, lime agave cabbage slaw, pepitas and a ton of additional tasty sauces and toppings that made the whole thing amazingly tasty on top of nutritious.

A PNW Treasure for Families!…read more If you're looking for the perfect family day trip in the Snoqualmie Valley, Remlinger Farms is an absolute must. We had such an incredible time here, and it's easily become one of our favorite local spots. What makes this place special is that it's so much more than just a farm--it's a full-blown experience. Here's why we loved it: The Fun Park: The rides are perfect for younger kids! From the classic kiddie coaster to the charming train ride that loops around the property, there's plenty to keep them entertained for hours. The Animals: The petting zoo was a huge hit. The animals are well-cared for, and it's such a sweet, hands-on way for kids to connect with nature. The Food & Market: You cannot leave without visiting the market. Their famous pies (especially the marionberry!) are legendary for a reason. We also loved the café for a quick, fresh lunch. The Atmosphere: Even when it's busy, the farm has a wonderful, relaxed energy. It's clean, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the scenery in Carnation is just stunning. Whether you're going for the summer berries, the fall pumpkin patch, or just a weekend outing, Remlinger Farms delivers every time. It's a nostalgic, wholesome, and genuinely fun place to make memories. We'll definitely be back!

Otherwise, driving around and trying to find parking near the main entrance would have been a hassle since the spaces there were much smaller and too many cars were there anyway. Once we walked inside, there was a market full of snacks - baking flavors, candy Apple, hot chocolate mix, Pumpkins, taffy, trail mix, etc. You can also buy tickets there or scan the pre-paid online QR Code in order to get Stickers to go on in. Just have to walk through the turnstile or however you call it to get to the area with the rides - Ferris wheel, merry go round, a small roller coaster and more, farm animals, restaurant and train. A short walk to each of the different sections of the farm with little photo areas were present as well, along with the arcade, bathrooms, restaurant and snack bars (only open on weekends). The other side of the farm had the U-Pick Pumpkins as you enter/exit the Remlinger Farms while driving on the main road. Anyhow for 2 Adults, 1 baby (less than 2 years old), the admission fees online cost $17.50 plus tax on a weekday. Overall, we had a decent experience as our first time. Rode on a few of the rides, including the train, which was a pretty short round-trip. Took some nice pictures, visited the petting zoo, and the bouncy place with my son. Picked out a couple of Pumpkins on our drive out and called it a day after spending 2 hours there. Would have been better if all of the rides and snack bars were open for the public on the weekdays, too. But we probably wouldn't visit on the weekends since I am sure it's really crowded and parking would be a mess. Plus, the entrance fees would be more expensive.
