Open sandwich "smørrebrød" belongs into the old traditional Danish gastronomy. There is no way you can't try some during a visit to Copenhagen.
Unfortunately, this place is not the best one. When I entered, I felt that time stopped over there. Things were a little bit unorganized and random.
The interior is very boring and besides smørrebrød and sandwiches there was nothing interesting.
My first impression wasn't that good, but I will focus on the products here. I went there around 11:00 and there was only a few open sandwiches left. I chose one with English beef, dry crispy onion, remoulade and pickle. Then I got also one called spring smørrebrød, which was actually bread with cream cheese, chive, onion and spices.
Both were ok, but I didn't feel good to buy such perishable stuff in the very hot weather we had at the time.
If you need a fast snack here and now and you feel like smorrebrod I would do it again. But if you have a bike with you, I would go for smorrebrod to Ritz (200m on Jagtvej) and if you need a good, freshly made sandwich I would definitely go to Pizzicato (Gammel Kongevej).
