The first thing that arrived at our table at t' Brugs Pitahuis were five ramekins of housemade…read moresauces, along with little crackers and pretzels for dipping. There was the creamy garlic, cocktail sauce, and my favorites, the hot sauce, onions in spicy oil, and a creamy curry sauce! Each of these was delicious in its own right, but went along even more nicely with the wide selection of kebabs, shawarmas, and falafels on the menu. My pick was the pita falafel sandwich, which came with five freshly-fried, sesame-crusted fritters in grilled pita bread, along with a simple salad of greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded carrots, and shredded endive (very Belgian!). I also got a side of the hummus, which was smooth and thin and perfect for dipping with the falafels. Next, I tried the pita with cubes of turkey, which were juicy and nicely marinaded. Interestingly, the menu here also featured a small selection of Indian dishes like dal and samosas, but the pita sandwiches were definitely the best value items and very reasonably priced given the location of this restaurant, right in the heart of Bruges. The service was also super friendly and extremely proud of their freshly-prepared, homemade sauces and dishes!

Not a Pita as we know it, the food actually was better this time. The dipping sauces were great but the sald could have been larger. It was still a great choice. And to prove the point, the more things change, the more they are the same, my wife indicated the waitress was the same one we had in 2019. How is that for consistency!

Very cheap vegetarian falafel joint that'll keep you full for very little money, but it's not…read moregood-quality food. We came here a bunch of times on our first visit to Brussels way back in 2013 when there was barely any vegan food around. We thought we'd return for a cheap meal. Currently, it's €7 for a falafel: you get a hearty whole wheat pita, with four freshly cooked falafel balls; then it's self-serve at the salad bar where you can fill your pita plus another small plastic container with various low-quality salads, hummus, hot sauce and other condiments. The pita and falafel are actually decently quality, but the salad bar is pretty lame; I guess I shouldn't expect much for the price. All in all, decent cheap falafel joint, but don't expect high quality.

Vegan Factor: 5.0 Stars Falafels! Fresh salad bar! Awesome…read morecombo. I can't verify everything was vegan on the salad bar due to the language barrier, but lots of options to keep you satisfied. Food: 4.5 Stars Really good falafel with a nice combo of herbs, fried to a nice crisp, served on a healthy whole wheat pita. Really good hummus and baba ghanoush. Some pickled and veggies in oil among the usual fare. Repeatability: 4.5 Stars If you're in Brussels, this is the place to go for falafels. Say hello. Order your falafel at the counter. Eat a salad while you wait. Fill up your pita/refill your salad. Have your 4.50 Euro ready. Leave fully satisfied.
