Our server was a touch cold and aloof but it was ok because they provide you with a paper menu that you can check off what items you want. This is a fantastic concept and I really wish more places did this. Two of us ordered the bagel with hummus, zucchini, feta, olives, tomato, and cilantro. This was not only nice on the eyes, but it was delicious and packed with tons of veggies and healthy shit. I could not have had a better breakfast. GF ordered the omelette with toast and she liked it but it brought up that dilemma that's as old as time regarding whether or not she likes eggs. If you do, in fact, like eggs, this is probably a safe choice. The last in our party ordered the granola bowl with nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, and yogurt. This person is very hard to please but I do remember her being pleased by this dish. They also have a million other things like pancakes, waffles (duh), sandwiches, salads, a dish of the day, a pie of the day, and a bunch of yummy drinks. As of November, 2018 the place has been open for two years. The energetic and kind host welcomed us in, and we sat at a pleasant two-top with a view of the boulevard and passers-by. Eggs Benedict was listed as a house specialty, so we gave it a try. At €9, it was a little small (only half the size of a typical Benedict. More aptly named "Egg Benedict," it comes with just one egg, a single strip of bacon, and perfectly sauteed spinach on a single hearty piece of toast) - but the flavors were excellent. Instead of the usual hollandaise used in the US, which I find a bit bland, Bodega's serves a richer bechamel. This worked wonderfully. We also shared a €7.50 Greek yogurt and granola. Note that granola in Europe means a slightly different cereal- more like what we call muesli. Toasted and nicely flavored rolled oats with nuts and a bit of dried fruit, but without the clusters we typically see. It's quite tasty and similar to granola, but less crunchy. Good value. Coffee was typical European excellent. We had cafe con leche (coffee with milk). One of those will wake you right up. Total cost was €22. Not much more than we'd pay at a cafe at home, but far higher quality. Four stars; a great score by my standard.

We checked out the menu, and I have to be honest (being a student) the prices scared me a bit! They quickly redeemed themselves though, cause the portions you get here are amazingly royal. My friend had the Italian lemon cake and I had the carrot cake. Both of us struggled to finish these, but we did because it was too tasty to waste! Other than the cake, we both had a hot chocolate with whipped cream. They came in huge glasses, filled with actual warm milk and having to stir the chocolate yourself. What made it more delicious was that the chocolate was actual Tony's Chocolonely :). They also have a lovely garden where you can sit, but sadly Dutch summer kind of ruined the opportunity for us to do that today. Perhaps in the next review, if the weather allows!
