It was a wonderful solo lunch. Two days later I brought my traveling companions for out last dinner before heading home. The food was fabulous. A really nice combination of authentic flavors done to perfection. Fresh clean ingredients. The enchiladas mole' was amazing. Guacamole was fresh and not over powered with spice. Everyone truly love their dish. Service was just right and I think it was the owner. He was very nice and explained a few dishes ingredients to a friend who has a few allergies. After 12 days in Europe these Californians were sorely missing Mexican food. We'd spent a week with family friends in Germany and about 5 days in Paris. While we ate and enjoyed the local culture we all wanted something with a little more spice. Our daughter was the one to find Fajitas. It's a great find in the Latin Quarter where we stayed. The chips and salsa were actually some of the best we've had even in California. We all ordered enchiladas - chicken mole enchiladas and my husband had regular chicken. Mole enchiladas are my daughter's favorite and there's one place at home which makes them to perfection. She said these were very close to her favorites. We've covered the food which was AH-mazing - your tastebuds will not go wrong here. The service was really delightful. Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Also, I have to give all of the servers +10 XP because in Paris almost every store, restaurant, etc. is multi-story. Where we were seated to dine was one floor down from the main street. The way down.... a rather long metal spiral staircase. I can't even walk two feet without tripping on a piece of dust. I don't know how these servers make it all the way down a narrow spiral staircase with hot plates of food. I am in Paris and I want enchiladas. My rational voice couldn't believe in the city of Beef Bourgogne, Duck l'Orange and croissants I wanted Mexican food! But Husband and I wanted a break from the local cuisine and we're happy to find Fajitas within walking distance to our hotel. We were greeted warmly and after perusing the menu we ordered the chips and salsa, and enchiladas rojas and enchiladas mole. And a carafe of frozen margaritas. From the first bite of my chip with the salsa picante (ask for it as it was separate from the mild red salsa they offer) and my tongue immediately was on fire! LOVE. I'm a serious spice junkie so was thrilled to feel that burn on my tongue. Our plates came and my husband made sounds of happiness as he plowed through his enchiladas. He said they tasted just like the ones from our favorite Mexican place back home. My enchiladas mole were delicious! FYI--Be forewarned, you will actually taste chocolate in the sauce. Which is unusual and it may be off putting to those who aren't expecting it. If you don't know, mole sauce is based on chocolate so a hint of sweetness is expected. (The only time I've ever had true chocolate flavors is when my friends grandmother made us homemade sauce)! I loved it as it was a nice balance to the savory chicken and spice, but my husband wasn't into as much as I was. The prices were right, and the food excellent. I give only two stars and whoever gives more must not know what real Mexican food taste like. We ordered the guacamole as a starter and as you can see there was only 20 chips on the plate and the guacamole wasn't even seasoned, and not even salt and pepper and Mexican seasoning on the table to adjust it. I ordered the Tampequina my go to when I'm in Texas and California and I was so disappointed. The meat wasn't seasoned and it tasted like charcoal a little. it wasn't even tasty meat, the rice was just regular plain white rice no seasoning not even salt when I was expecting Mexican rice, the refried beans was only a little tiny teaspoon on the plate didn't taste anything, the guacamole was mixed with too much salads and again no seasoning. There was only two small tortillas on the plate, not even in the Mexican little boxes to keep them warm. No salsa on the table but a little cup of red sauce that was way too spicy. So it's either didn't put any seasoning at all or did just pour the hot spices in one tiny cup. The chicken enchiladas Verdes was decent but still to the limit of being too dry, there was barely any verdes salsa on it. I wanted to order a margarita, but when I saw the astronomical prices even for the small one I didn't. All in all I was very disappointed, last time I had Mexican in Paris was about 18 years ago and I thought it was about time to try again and I shouldn't have. Fajitas had quick service, friendly staff and lively environment. The veggie burrito was cooked to perfection but lacked a lot of flavor. I ordered the spicy salsa to give it a kick which really helped enhance the flavor. The white rice and salad where nice complementary side dishes to the burrito. The meat was so tender, guacamole authentic, the mole had the just right amount of chocolate taste, and even the enchilada verde that came with the Tampiqueña had the real roasted tomatillo flavor. If I could improve just one thing, would be to add Chiles rellenos to the menu, but maybe they're hard to get here in France. After sight seeing all day we found this Mexican Restaurant tucked down a narrow alley. There are a few places to eat down this street but Mexican caught my eye. We ordered 2 margaritas on the rocks with sugar instead of salt. The waitress looked at us crazy so we just got them without salt. We had the nachos they were good. As we were looking over the menu, we watched others around us receive their orders and this made it even more difficult... Everything looked great! We settled on chicken fajitas and the chicken enchiladas (with ranchero) and had guacamole to start. We had a pitcher of the frozen sangria to accompany. Highly recommend all of it. The sangria (and drinks in general) were a bit pricey, but overall worth it. We were charges an extra €2 for more chips to go with the gauc, but as we were brought out a basket after asking, we didn't mind this extra charge. If you like things HOT ask for their spicy sauce... Two Californians who just needed a taste of home. My wife and I have been on Europe for a couple weeks. I was feeling lucky so just did a search for a Mexican restaurant and Fajitas came up. I'm so glad we went here. Everything was exceptional. Being from SoCal I think I'm a pretty good judge of Mexican food. From the Mexican music and the ambiance right when you walk in, great! We started with some chips and salsa, salsa was perfect. Then I followed it up with their fajitas, my wife had a cheese enchiladas. And of course I washed it down with a nice cold Corona. As per Parisien tradition, the food and drinks here are expensive with small portions. Luckily, the food is actually great. The fajita here is close to 16EUR with three tortilla and a plat of fajita stuffings. The three of us spent 135 EUR with an appetizer, five 20CL drinks (super teeny for 8 EUR), 2 shots of tequila (8 EUR each shot), a bottle of wine, and three entree. (15 EUR each entree) That would be 45 EUR each person. That ain't cheap and we ain't drunk. The place itself is decorated wonderfully with two floors of seating. Some snags did come up during our experience: 1. The appetizer came and it was not what we ordered 2. We ordered a second appetizer and it never came 3. This was bad on our part, but we have no idea whether the right appetizer price was on our check or if both were on there 4. My friend and i wandered around the cute Parisian streets all day long and worked up an appetite. We ordered white wine, sparkling water, with chips and salsa to start. Great salsa with fresh flavor. The server (I believe was the owner) speaks english and had an english menu too. The menu has great authentic options, made it hard to choose an entree! I wanted enchiladas and the tacos! The guacamole is tasty and fresh, the salsa tastes like salsa found in Arizona (where we are from so we know Mexican food) and the fajitas, tacquitos, quesadillas and other items are great. I ordered the Tacos Al Pastor, and a side of guacamole and salsa with tortilla chips. The tortilla chips are thin and crispy and fresh. The salsa is very good and mild but full of flavor. They have a hot salsa also and that's very nice. The Tacos Al Pastor is served like fajitas on a sizzling platter with corn tortillas to wrap, guac, sour cream and refried beans.
