The children always seem happy when they are there and the teachers really do care about the kids! If you are searching for a daycare for your little, I definitely suggest you give this place a shot! The prices are beyond reasonable, with options for part-time or full-time. We started part-time but our daughter begged to stay longer so we switched to full-time. Thank you, Mt Scott Jubilee, for taking such good care of both our children!

The teachers are so warm and patient, it is a safe environment and they really seem to focus on each child's individual needs. They are completely reasonably priced and seem very experienced. I have already seen a drastic/fantastic change in my young son. He looks forward to his days here and I am so happy that he is flourishing! This is a great educational foundation for him

I have two children attending Little Village and couldn't be more thrilled with their experience…read morethere. My kids started attending this fall when they first opened after attending another Montessori school last year (which unfortunately closed). Of the many things I appreciate about the school, my favorite aspect is the quality of teachers. My 4 year old daughter is quite strong willed and I love how the teachers provide her with clear boundaries while also celebrating her desire to be constantly on the go. My daughter responds so well to the respectful way she is treated and we've noticed at home how her behavior has changed positively because of the language and social skills they provide her with at school. My son started when he was 2 1/2 and I was worried he'd be overwhelmed by the multi-aged class but the teachers create an inclusive environment in which they encourage the older children to help the younger. He's doing so well there. On top of the loving environment, which is most important to me at their ages, the educational aspect is blowing my mind. When I tell my mom, who was an elementary teacher for over 40 years, what the kids have been working on she is impressed with the wide variety of subjects as well as the kids excitement for their work. I could go on and on with all the ways we appreciate this school, but here are just a few bullet points that might be helpful for other parents looking for a preschool. -Lunch is provided and it's healthful, mostly organic and made on site. -They learn so much through music and have a special music class a week on top of the daily song/calendar/circle time. -The space is very clean, calm and inviting. -Children get quality one on one time with the teachers as the student to teacher ratio is low. -There have been 3 holiday programs/parties so far on the weekends or evenings that are so special and fun. While we lived in Sellwood when the kids started school, we've recently move 20 minutes away and considered changing schools to something closer. We've realized that a school experience as quality as this is worth the drive time and we will happily be staying through Kindergarten. I'm not sure if it's listed on their website, but they do offer tours and observation times for prospective parents.

Our experience thus far with Little Village has been nothing short of amazing! My daughter has…read morechanged quite drastically and I believe that much of her change is due in part to the Montessori learning method, but mostly because of the teachers and faculty of Little Village. Upon entering LVM, my daughter has been challenged by the curriculum and the work, but most importantly, accepted and loved by the teachers. The school itself is clean, organized, and a happy place to attend. We are greeted each morning with smiles and excitement. I will be enrolling my younger daughter next year and can't say enough good things about this school!

Youngset is so much more than a preschool for our family. As my daughter literally just said today,…read more"[Youngset] preschool is like a home that you don't live in". We have found such a sense of community, belonging, meaning and joy throughout the past year at Youngset. But honestly, that's not even the best part. The best part is hands down the teachers. They are truly exceptional, and I don't use that word lightly. They are thoughtful, patient, incredibly knowledgeable about child development, and deeply respectful of children as individuals. Watching the way they speak to kids, respond to big emotions, set boundaries, and give children space to work things out has genuinely made me a better parent. I love how seriously Youngset takes play-based, child-led learning. There is a growing body of research showing how much young children learn through play. And I have seen the benefits first-hand with my daughter who has grown, learned and developed so much in just one year at Youngset. Out of all the parenting decisions I've had to make over the years, I feel like I got this one right. And I hope any other family reading this knows that Youngset is an exceptional early eduction choice. Once you do a tour, you'll get a sense of it. That's what sealed the deal for us!

The culture of the community at Youngset is so warm and welcoming and it is easy to make friends with other parents. The great thing about the co-op model is that you get to be with your child in the classroom and experience it with them, and it's so cool to know all your child's friends. It is also much more affordable than non-co-op options, especially with the flexible schedule - from $230 per month for 2 days a week to $575 for 5 days a week.

This school contains many stellar educators. However, the administrative functions are…read moredisorganized, capricious, incompetent and outright disrespectful to their teachers and parents. We had a child in their preschool program. Enrollment was complete chaos: they promised us space in the after care program, assured us there would be plenty, then forgot to add our name to an email list serv for families so we never received the email asking to register. We had to beg and plead for a spot for extended day so that I could continue full time at my work. Their emails to families never come from one person, sometimes it's the head of school, sometimes the CEO, sometimes the librarian. It makes it so confusing and to this day my husband is still not receiving emails that I do, and vice versa, seemingly randomly. During our year of enrollment the preschool encountered numerous challenges and communication to parents was abysmal. Our classroom flooded and randomly had to be closed for more than a week. There were issues with the "lunch program" which is I guess adequate calorie wise, but truly pitiful. Many staff and families feel that the admin leadership, Director of School to be specific, sees the PFA program as a cash cow, but does very little to improve or support the preschool division. (And there's a question about whether they really are in compliance with all of PFA mandates). Half of the enrollment at this school is the preschool. Our beloved teacher raised many concerns with their leadership team and was ultimately fired for being a squeaky wheel, and she was literally the only reason we could recommend this place. After this school year none of the families I know will re enroll and many of the preschool staff are planning on quitting. All that said, I believe that TM has the ability to reform and I sincerely hope they do, because I believe that the educators have skills and experience and the grounds of the school are incredible.
