My artist was Mars, and she made the whole process of getting a tattoo very smooth. Since this was my very first tattoo I did a consultation virtually and explained to her exactly what I was looking to get . After a few weeks she sent me a render of how the tattoo was going to look and I was definitely a fan of the design. The process took roughly about 3 1/2 - 4 hours outline and color. The post care instructions were clear and I appreciated her fast responses afterwards whenever I had a question or 2. I've been looking for a local place to get a small letter "S" tattooed for me and my nephew without spending an arm and a leg. Then I came across this brand new shop. Shop minimum for a tattoo was $100, which is the cheapest I was able to find in the area. I inquired with Nikko who set up my appt and emailed me reminders and confirmations leading up to it. When we arrived, we were greeted by Elexa who took both our temps and had us fill out the consent forms that were all on their website so that we didn't have to touch any clipboards, papers, etc. We met with Saugun who printed out a bunch of different sizes of the stencils while his apprentice Aliana sanitized the entire tattooing area for us. Once we picked our sizes, he had me in the seat and all finished within 15 minutes. He wraps the tattoos with this new tape that you can leave on for up to three days to help with the healing process, as opposed to Saran Wrap. They're definitely working in 2030!! When I finished, Elexa completely cleaned and sanitized the area for my nephew. Couldn't be any more impressed by the precautions they were taking for their clients. On the other side of the divider (which were handmade by Saugun and Jeff), Michelle was working on hair! How many places can you find that has BOTH hair AND tattoo services?! From my initial DM with the tattoo artist's assistant, up until I got there, I was greeted by friendly staff. Sag was willing to work with me no matter how many times I asked him to edit the designs. Incredible experience from start to finish! Scheduling an appointment was such a breeze. They got back to me super quickly with all the details after I inquired. The shop also uses Vagaro which streamlined everything regarding filling out waivers and forms prior to my appointment, sending reminders, and completing payment at the shop. Upon arrival to my appointment I was greeted by the receptionist. She took my temperature and invited me to take a seat on their signature green couch under the neon sign. I've come to Fait Maison for both their tattoo and their hair services and its been a great experience every time I walk through their doors. The ambience and decor of the shop is gorgeous (I even went home after my first appointment to find the exact chair that they had in their waiting area). The staff is very nice and keep up with you so that you don't forget appointments. For tattoos, I got my upper thigh tattooed by Aliana and she was so sweet throughout the experience. It was my first tattoo, but she made the process very easy and comfortable so I wasn't nervous at all. I showed her a picture of my cat since I wanted an outline of his ears, and she walked me through a few versions of the design before deciding on one together. I knew I wanted it to be upside down so that I could look at it, but I didn't want it to look weird when other people were looking at it head-on. Aliana drew an abstract outline that was perfect, and we decided on a brown ink to help it feel a little more natural and to match my cat's brown fur. The experience getting tattooed wasn't too painful and she made sure I felt comfortable, giving me a stress ball to hold. She gave me some good aftercare tips and the tattoo healed very well! My friends have also gone to Fait Maison and have been tattooed by Aliana, Sag, and Ryan Hall. Everyone I know has had good experiences with their artists, and were satisfied with their results. As for hair, I've been going to Michelle for a little under a year, after another hairdresser at a different salon messed up a bleach job. I really love how Michelle prioritizes the health of my hair, instead of just damaging it for the profit. She suggested that we let it grow out and to just trim it every 2 months for a healthy growth, and my hair has honestly never felt nicer. Okay, this place is IT. Five stars with my eyes closed. I stopped by here recently for my very first tattoo, and I am so glad I did. I was very anxious going into it being that I chose a 7 inch back piece as my first, but once I walked in, heard the music they were playing & started talking to my artist, I felt super comfortable. The experience was lovely and much smoother than i would've ever expected. I chose Sag because his work is amazing! He was very light handed and finished my tattoo in 2 hours. My best friend found this shop and got a couple pieces and I decided to take a leap of faith. Once you arrive at the shop it's like visiting a oasis! So I've never had the best luck with getting my hair done. I've had some pretty traumatic experiences in the past with bleaching and having to cut all my hair off afterwards to save it. Prior to my appointment, Michelle was super sweet and upfront about answering any questions I had (and assured me that there was no such thing as a stupid question when I asked!) She was great with keeping up with communication leading up to my appointment, and I was even sent a confirmation reminder the day before to make sure I wasn't cancelling. It's a very relaxing environment - nice ambience, pretty wall art and personality everywhere, and an overall calm atmosphere. Michelle was still working on a client when I got there, and wasted no time whatsoever the moment she was free: she sat me down and started to talk to me while her other client was processing color. After I reiterated my concerns with my hair, she went with her gut and told me she wouldn't be doing the bleaching I had been expecting, but would instead do a lighter color to gradually get me used to the experience. I was super impressed with how much concern she had for my hair and the health of it, and with how much she paid attention to my wanting to keep the integrity of it, even after putting it through coloring. The rest of the staff was super nice and laid back, but professional. The tattoo artist, Sag, had done two tattoos for me 2 years prior, and now I'm looking forward to booking for another piece. Covid-19 precautions were upheld at all times (they kept sanitizing the chairs anytime the other client and I switched) and while there were others in the shop, they still respected social distancing. Michelle walked me through some tips with how to style my hair, and how to take care of it in between visits. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the results. I'm definitely more confident with booking my next appointment with Michelle within the next month or so. My hair has been blessed, and I trust her completely with the caretaking of it. The salon is beautiful, odd there's tattoo shop in it; but in retro it only makes this place even more unique. Great work on my sleeve but customer service is truly terrible. I worked with the main artist for several sessions in order to finish up my sleeve. My first piece was not finished since my skin started to show irritation. I felt so happy that an artist was considerate of my skin and we agreed to make another appointment. I decided to go in for another piece since I was so satisfied with the incomplete piece. We did another consultation and I felt like I was a nuisance. The main artist met me on his lunch break, didn't seem too interested in working on the having an actual consultation, but once I asked for a preview of the piece he confirmed it was doable. I followed up several days later with the receptionist and they basically said the artist may be too busy to give me a preview of the piece. This should have been a red flag but eventually the main artist sent me a copy of the design. I wasn't too happy with it and he drew another piece the day of. Since our last appointment ended with things being unfinished I asked the artist if he felt that he didn't have enough time to finish then he should just do one part of the piece versus the entire thing I wanted. He expressed that it was doable and basically rushed a part of the tattoo to be able to accommodate both pieces. He was still unable to finish the whole piece that I was originally quoted for and I needed to make an additional appointment to finish both the first and this current piece. Once home I noticed there were several things I did not like such as, crooked lines, run off segments and overall I was genuinely unhappy and quite disappointed! I was also under the impression that both quotes have been paid off. Once my last appointment arrived I decided to bring it up. This is apart of my body and I wanted to feel proud of a piece I spent a good amount of money on. Once I got there I addressed my concerns, but felt like the artist was trying to blame everything on how the placement of the tattoo was a difficult spot to tattoo - besides the fact that it was basically rushed. I ended up asking him to help correct the subtle issues and he did do it. However, once I got to the counter I learned that I had a balance which I was not advised that I had to prior. Usually once a tattoo is quoted and you are just finishing the rest of it there isn't an additional charge. The main artist went back and forth with me and eventually settled on a price (originally quoted an additional $800 but after speaking we brought it down to $400). This felt a bit scammy to me as if he mentioned it at the beginning of the appointment I wouldn't have been so shocked. After a couple of hours, upon closer inspection, there is still in fact quite a few details that weren't executed well. My tattoo experience was quite traumatizing, overall. But, after all the frustration, it is what it is. I do not see myself returning to this shop since my money and my time were not valued. read more
