Now, I've worked with several lawyers in my career and up until then, I could honestly say that I had little trust/respect for the profession and it was with trepidation that we made an appointment with Marshall. I am so pleased to say that Marshall exceeded all our expectations and allayed our fears within our first appointment! He's a very warm and easy person to talk to and was so patient when answering questions or explaining things. It was a genuine surprise to find a lawyer we could trust and respect in such short order. Marshall kept in touch with regular status updates, as well as calmed our nerves with his extensive knowledge on the steps (plus average length of time) that these issues typically take to resolve. I cannot say enough good things about Marshall and the practice. I heartily recommend Marshall to anyone with similar issues -- you will not be disappointed with the results! (Thanks again Marshall!) (Note--We especially appreciated his willingness to give us an in-person appointment considering we were still in the midst of a pandemic and vaccines had not rolled out yet. Social distancing was practiced during our time there.)

I would recommend this firm to anyone who's looking for an attorney to get you to your end goal, whether it's to settle a case you have, or simply looking for legal advice from a qualified professional.

But that quickly changed. Ms. Stup did not seem to know how to handle my complicated case. We had documentation of my husbands addiction, as he recounted it, and enough testimony to ensure that I received primary custody. However, as of three days before my final custody trial, she had not deposed any witnesses, she had not asked for any documentation from me regarding damaging text messages, etc. This was after going to TWO settlement hearings where she just sat quietly while I had to try and stick up for my rights. In the end, she convinced me to agree to sell the family home and allowed my ex husband to keep over two-thirds of his retirement, even though we had been married for 13 years. She was not willing to go up against the best-interest attorney appointed for my children because they were best friends. The best-interest attorney made claims that I was an unfit parent because of my children's school attendance. Ms. Stup told me that if her friend said it, then it must be true and she wasn't willing to collect the evidence I was told by my children's school administrations would help clear my name with the best interest attorney. I paid Ms. Stup $33,000 to basically do nothing. In the end, she was just a glorified file attorney. Because that's all she did - file motions and documents. I fired her three days before the final trial. Consider carefully before you pay her hefty retainer fee.

There was a point when I just couldn't think any longer. I couldn't configure a plan of action as I was wholly overwhelmed and this doesn't happen often, if ever.... well Counsel is 1) proactive, 2) assertive, 3) knowledgeable, 4) timely, 5) diligent, 6) saves ya money, 7) won't draw out and delay a case unnecessarily, 8) talks to you without talking down to folks while explaining the requirements of the law and providing viable options plus notes the downside, 9) actually takes phone calls and responds to emails, and 10) they serve the community by giving back. I do like that most. Detric, Beth, Mimi, Suzanne and Waldo feels less stuffy yet professionally polished to be approachable and family like.
