If you're familiar with golf courses in metro Atlanta, Eagle Watch is located immediately next to Towne Lake Hills Golf Club. Both courses are in the Woodstock neighborhood of Towne Lake, just off I-575 exit 8. I like both courses. The big difference between the two is Eagle Watch is private and Towne Lake is public. Eagle Watch is currently a ClubCorp course and, for some reason, is paired with Bentwater Golf Club in Acworth. The courses are about 35 minutes apart (without traffic). I remember when these courses operated independently of each other (and when Bentwater was public). The only reason I can think of as to why ClubCorp paired them together is to sell more memberships. Get two courses for the price of one. Eagle Watch used to belong to Canongate (also private at the time) until ClubCorp acquired them in a large package deal in 2014. Eagle Watch has all the typical country club amenities and then some. Along with the 18-hole, par-72 golf course, there are 12 tennis courts, pools, a playground for kids, and even an outdoor basketball court and beach volleyball. The clubhouse is nice and spacious. I wouldn't characterize this club as high-end, but it's certainly not low-tier either. It's middle of the pack. There's a driving range, large practice putting green, and a practice short game area with bunker. The course is one of less than 10 in the state of Georgia designed by the Arnold Palmer Design Company. I'm not sure how much of a hand Arnie actually had in the design of Eagle Watch, but it's cool his name is attached. Like other Palmer clubs, the clubhouse has memorabilia dedicated to The King. The course opened in 1989. It has bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens. When we played, the course, from tee to green, was generally in good condition. There are five sets of tees to play from. From the tips (gold), the course measures "only" 6,741 yards with a rating/slope of 72.8/143. From the whites, where we played from, the course measures 5,677 yards with a 68.0/125 rating/slope. I'd say this course is average or slightly above average in difficulty. The course is hilly, which is typical of a Georgia course, but it's more pronounced here. Some of the elevation changes are significant and make some of the holes scenic and memorable. There are no large bodies of water to contend with, but several small ponds and some creeks. While the course winds and weaves its way through a subdivision, most of the holes are tree-lined. The signature hole is No. 14, a moderate to long par-3 with a forced carry over a pond. Paired with a bunker left of the green, there's not much room for error. On top of that, if you're shooting for birdie, you'll have to place your ball on the correct side of the green as it's two-tiered. It's not as intimidating as it sounds. The 17th is another par-3 over water and it's one of the easier holes. The most difficult hole is No. 2, a long dogleg-right par-4. It's the longest par-4 on the course (446 yards from the tips, 390 from the whites) and the No. 1 handicap hole. Err to the right on your approach. I had an enjoyable round here and wouldn't mind playing this track again. We had fun.

For the money, Bradshaw Farm in Woodstock is a good public course. There are three nines here: Red,…read moreWhite, and Blue. The two nines you play can change depending on how the pro shop has scheduled tee times for the day. I've played Bradshaw several times over the years and have usually wound up playing the Red and Blue nines. From the blue tees, the Red measures 3,128 yards, the White 3,286 yards, and Blue 3,153 yards, so it's not a terribly long course. It's moderately difficult and I think somewhat beginner-friendly for a standard full-length course. There are a lot of hills and elevation changes, some of which are quite steep. The first tee on the Red nine has quite the drop which makes that drive a lot of fun. The most memorable hole to me is the 9th on Red. It's a long par 4 which goes downhill then back up to a steeply elevated green. The view is cool because overlooking the green way above is the clubhouse and golf cart storage building. At the time of writing this review, Bradshaw's public rates are $42, Monday through Thursday, $55 on Friday, and $65 on weekends and holidays. You can find good deals online through various websites like GolfNow and TeeOff.com. For example, I was able to book a Friday round here for $45 using TeeOff.com, a $10 savings off the regular rate. These websites also offer various discounts and promos throughout the year so you can save even more money on the already discounted tee times. It should be noted, however, that the tee times available on these websites can sometimes be more limited than what you can get by directly calling the pro shop. Overall, the condition of the course is decent. The greens are the best part. They are Champion Dwarf Bermudagrass (installed in 2012-13), the same grass that is now used at the club I grew up playing at (High Point Country Club - Willow Creek, also installed around the same time). The last time I played here, the greens were in great shape. They rolled true. The fairways were OK and the rough was cut short. The brown-red sand in the bunkers had more of a hard, dense, clay-like consistency as opposed to the drier, white, "fluffy" sand. Not bad though. I was still able to hit out of them with my usual sand shot. There's a big driving range and one practice putting green and short game area. Like some of the tee shots here, the driving range is located on what feels like a cliff, so you are hitting shots down into a valley. It's mats only at the range and range balls (not included) are dispensed from a machine outside the pro shop. When you purchase range balls, you'll be given a code to enter into the machine. A small bucket costs about $4-5. I'm not a fan of the golf carts here. They're old. Several have worn out tires and the carts' turning and handling is not good. These carts are definitely showing their wear and age. Also, no GPS and towels are not provided. Neither are tees, ball markers, repair tools, etc, but to be expected at the rates they charge. What Bradshaw does have, which I love and think every golf course should have, is one of those compressed air guns. They're great for blowing grass, dirt, sand, and other stuff out of your shoes, socks, skin, etc. Also, the restrooms out on the course are satisfactory. The clubhouse itself looks like a giant red barn. Very distinctive. The clubhouse has a nice view of the first hole on Red. The pro shop is small and basic. The restaurant and bar is also no-frills. The grill offers food like breakfast sandwiches, Danishes, muffins, hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and fries each under $6. The bar serves liquor. The staff I've encountered have been friendly, polite, and helpful. That goes for the guys in the pro shop to the cart girls. Marshals? Not sure I've ever seen one or had one say anything to me. In the end, Bradshaw Farm gets 3 Yelp "A-OK" stars out of me.

And pricing is one of the best in the area with tee times easy to get on-line. No need to give them a credit card or anything. Pay when you arrive. It's a relatively small operation - but the staff is always very friendly and helpful.

The employees provide a top notch service! Absolutely enjoyed our time at the course. They have a great maintained driving range to get some practice in before your round. The starter at the 1st tee was extremely professional and made sure everyone got off in a timely manner. They even drive around to keep you updated on pace of play. Don't pull up to this course for the first time and expect to have a good scoring day. It's an extremely difficult course considering most of the greens are tough to read and have different tiers to them. Even if you're on the green in two you might end up three putting if you're 20ft out. The first hole is a long par 5 that truly shows how the tough the course can be. If you're a long hitter it's reachable in 2. Overall, Cobblestone is a great course that you definitely need to check out. Fairways are beautiful, great views, amazing greens. Im a 2 handicap and walked away with a 78 from the tips. Good luck and enjoy.

I was told it was recently remodeled. The clubhouse food staff were exceptional. Super service oriented. The driving range is pretty ordinary, but well beyond functional. I just expected more. Not a true complaint. The turf that you hit off is in excellent condition. The range balls were terrible. This really surprised me. I peeked into the sheltered learning center (instruction) and it looked great. I enjoyed the short game area, which provided plenty of variety. The putting green was great. It was in excellent condition, probably 18 holes cut, and it was large in size. The director of golf, Phil, seemed like a really nice guy. He struck me is the sort of guy you would want as your golf pro. He gives the impression of being a happy man with a ready smile. His four assistant pros had the typical, "I hate this job" attitude. The cart staff was great. They were service oriented and eager to please. The layout of this golf course was exceptional, but the routing is confusing. I'd have gotten lost without help. There are no tee signs or hole-to-hole markings of any kind. I would describe this is a very fun golf course to play. It is visually attractive and challenging, but also fair. Loose tee shots are punished, but the fairways are a little bit wider than they appear from the tee. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition, given that we played in the winter. The fairways were all over seeded. The greens were smooth and fast. Approach shots need major attention. I hit several shots that ended up nowhere near where I expected. False fronts, sides and slopes definitely need to be factored in before pulling a club. The bunkers get an F minus. All of them we're literally unplayable. The sand in all of the green side bunkers was so hard you can walk across them without leaving a footprint. I'm certain they will not be in this condition come April. Maintenance of this course is both good and bad. The turf is great, but there's a decided lack of attention to detail in so many areas. Especially within 50 yards of the green and in. We've all had to deal with a maintenance crew that disrupts play, but this bunch is in a class all by itself. As annoying as they were, they could not detract from this track. I think so highly of this course I just can't give it anything less than 5 stars. To be fair, I'm betting this place will shine come April. This track is a real treat to play. The staff were so polite and enthusiastic upon arriving at the parking lot. Golf cart attendants were very informative and friendly when we arrived and asked for directions. Upon entering the building next the the Pro Shop the hostess greeted us and sat us near a window seat. The views are spectacular from this hilltop view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ben was our server and handed us menus that were extremely simple and easy to follow. Ben went over the specials for food and drinks and within 15 minutes our food was served. We both ordered brunch foods I had the pancakes, eggs and bacon while my wife enjoyed eggs Benedict. All foods were tasty and delicious with one exception was that the eggs Benedict were slightly over cooked and yolk lacked fluidity. However, the lady at the table next to us ordered the same meal and hers came out perfect. Without complaining we assumed that the delicious smoked bacon on my plate may have taken extra time and my wife's egg yolks may have sat and cooked firm while my bacon took extra minutes. Not a problem, still satisfied with flavor!! The staff and location deserves 5 Stars and two thumbs up for extraordinary service and hospitality. We are looking forward to going back and will make a reservation to make sure we get allowed inside by the security gatekeepers Kevin and Mr. Tennessee.

The stall in the ladies bathroom smelled of strong, aged urine ; probably due to the mat on the floor in front of the toilet that has accumulated urine.
