Course is in awful shape. Greens have more sand than the traps themselves, they said there was a "discounted rate" but for $65 i mean that's just sad. The tee boxes haven't seen sunlight since last summer. The rough looks like it gets cut maybe once a month, because you can lose multiple balls, even if you walk right over it. . The Marshall patrol is the worst I've ever seen, by a country mile. They nagged at us twice in 2 holes for being 10 minutes behind pace on the front 9. Reminded a 50 year old man again at the turn, that "we confirmed your 10 minutes behind" when the group behind us wasn't even on the tee box. Quite hilarious actually, guess they have nothing better to do besides sniping your cooler before you even start. Been playing this course for years and I guarantee I'll never be back, especially not for $65. What a joke. read more

We played this course today and when I say the Greens were in the worse shape I have ever played in my 27 years of golf. The course made us pay full price knowing this as well as making excuses for the lack of communication. We took 40 plus guys out there and were severely disappointed with the conditions of the greens. One rating on course conditions, and service. Cobblestone used to be awesome! Course conditions were as poor as I have seen them today. Those can be fixed. My issue is with the pace of play. We had a 6 hour pace at the turn, and all employees that worked in the clubhouse stated "we were been jam packed today". "This is normal for the summer now a days. This is not what Cobblestone used to be. Cobblestone has every means to speed up pace of play or not overbook the tee sheet. No ranger came out to enforce or push slow play. I have played slow rounds before, but 2-3 groups on every tee boxes is a first for me. Cobblestone doesn't seem to care. read more

Great course. Par 72. We were really fortunate to play Cobblestone a couple weeks ago. I played this course years and years ago when I lived in the area and it has only gotten better. The employees provide a top notch service! Absolutely enjoyed our time at the course. They have a great maintained driving range to get some practice in before your round. The starter at the 1st tee was extremely professional and made sure everyone got off in a timely manner. They even drive around to keep you updated on pace of play. Don't pull up to this course for the first time and expect to have a good scoring day. It's an extremely difficult course considering most of the greens are tough to read and have different tiers to them. Even if you're on the green in two you might end up three putting if you're 20ft out. The first hole is a long par 5 that truly shows how the tough the course can be. If you're a long hitter it's reachable in 2. Overall, Cobblestone is a great course that you definitely need to check out. Fairways are beautiful, great views, amazing greens. Im a 2 handicap and walked away with a 78 from the tips. Good luck and enjoy. read more

This course has a lot of character and uniqueness. However, the greens are horrible. I was told the championship bemuda was being over taken by the old bemuda which made them appear splotchy. Have played this course for years but only a couple times in the past five years. Sunday, walk up single, 3:00 tee time, parking lot Jammed full. Was expecting a 5-6 hour round, finished in 4:09. This may have been the quickest weekend round in years. Tee time spacing was 10 minutes, waited once at 16. Every golfer got their own cart, nobody Allowed to touch the flagstick. They have a device to retrieve the ball from the hole using your putter, worked fine. Round came with hot dog, chips and fountain soft drink. Course was great but unlucky for me the greens had just been punched but had been sanded and rolled. I've missed this place, can't wait to get back out. read more

I give Cobblestone 3 stars for the condition of the course, but 4 stars in just about every other facet: course layout, scenery, service, and amenities. This municipal course up in Acworth has a bit of private club flair. The course is challenging, but fun. I've played this track on and off since 2007, back when it was a part of the Affiniti Golf Tour (now Mosaic Clubs and Resorts). This course has a bag drop with multiple attendants, a cart staging/return area with cart boys who'll clean your clubs off after your round and send them back up to the drop, an air gun to clean your shoes, and a speaker system to announce who's next up on the tee. It's like you're playing in a tournament or something. I have played in one Affiniti tournament here as well as multiple company tournament rounds. The pro shop is nice. It's filled with all sorts of equipment and apparel. The grill is basic, but has the food and drink essentials, plus a decent dining area with great views of the back nine and 18. You hit off grass at the driving range which is located across the parking lot from the course. The practice putting green is large and in good condition. It's located just before the first tee. There's a covered outdoor structure near the practice putting green which is used for tournaments and events. The course itself measures 6,759 yards from the tips with a rating/slope of 73.2/137. I've played from both the blue tees and white tees. From the blues, the course measures 6,272 yards with a rating/slope of 71.0/130. From the whites, the course measures 5,843 yards with a rating/slope of 69.0/126. I generally like the layout and design. Several holes are especially beautiful because they are played alongside Lake Acworth where you'll see all sorts of folks in the water on boats, canoes, kayaks, fishing, etc. Some of my favorite holes include Nos. 3 (par 3), 4 (par 4), 15 (par 5), and 16 (par 3). Those are some of the holes played along the lake and they are quite scenic. They feel resort-like. As for price, the last couple times I played here, I paid about $60-70 per Saturday morning round. I've booked both through Cobblestone's website and by calling them. You have to pay more for tee times booked more than 4 days in advance. This course can get filled up quickly so book early. I don't believe Cobblestone is on any tee time discount site like TeeOff.com or GolfNow. $60-70 is on the higher end for a muni, but as mentioned above, Cobblestone does have amenities that several other munis do not. The fees are comparable to similar tier facilities such as BridgeMill, Woodmont, and RiverPines. The greens are Champion Dwarf Bermudagrass like Bradshaw Farm in Woodstock (another course my coworkers in Cobb County like to play). Like other courses in Georgia, Cobblestone's holes have a variety of elevation changes and most of the holes are tall-tree-lined. Condition-wise, the fairways have a lot of dry/dirt patches. Not good. The course has seen better days. At least the bunkers are filled with white, fluffy sand. The good kind. Friendly service, from the cart boys to the pro shop to the starter. It'd be nice if the beverage girls started their rounds sooner. We had an early tee time our last round (7:40am) and we didn't see a beverage cart girl until the back nine! By then, we didn't need anything cause we stocked up at the turn assuming there was no beverage cart for the day. read more

Absolutely NOT a course for recreational players. Way too many holes are protected by at least two bunkers and/or water. Many holes have two bunkers aside a narrow opening to the green - you need to be really accurate to hit in between them to get on the green. One hole has a bunker that's bigger than the green. My foursome had two players in the sand on virtually every hole - sometimes three of us went in. To avoid the sand, you often wind up hitting too long. There are also sand traps along the fairway. You'd think that over the last 30 years they would have filled in one or two of these traps per year if this is the way the course was MIS-designed. This course seems like it was designed to host PGA tournaments. This is not "challenging." It is a non-stop test of whether you can be accurate with 80% of your drives, fairway shots and approaches. If you want to work on your game in the area of getting out of the sand - this is the course for you! read more

Being a Senior I would like to see Cobblestone offer 9 and 18 hole weekly Senior events in the AM, as well as using forward tees. Also in the Practice area offer a Refreshment Stand, and Female and Male Bathroom Facilities. It is not convenient to have to stop using the practice facilities to either get refreshments or use the bathroom facilities. Also use the grassy area as much as possible to hit balls. Maybe certain times set aside for Mats/Grass. If there is enough room please consider adding an Executive Golf Course, if there is not enough room at Cobblestone, Cobb and Cherokee County adding Driving Ranges, and Executive Golf Courses in these two counties. read more

I don't recommend this course for golfers who use the forward tees (as a lot of us amateur women do). I'm not sure how they figured out the tee placement but I did not have a prayer in the world to get to the green in regulation on most holes. There was even one par 5 where we were all at the same tee location. It was as if they figured that anyone who needs to use the forward tees, they really don't matter. Rainy day golf, so our round wasn't one for the books but Cobblestone is a good course. - The facility is nice and has everything you need. - Bag boys (no girls, just boys) at the ready. - Beverage cart was nowhere to be seen but given the weather and how few people were silly enough to play in the rain, can't really find fault here. - Greens are great. The grass is in good shape, balls roll true and there are lots of contours to test your putting skills. - Similarly, the fairways are decent, too. I almost always found the lie I expected (good if in the fairway, not as good but fair if in the rough). - Tee boxes are OK. I don't place much value on the condition of tee boxes, though. If I can get a tee into the ground with a level stance, that's good enough. That said, the box on 16 was horrible. - Because of the rain, the bunkers were difficult to play out of (hard packed sand), but it looks like they're in good shape for dry weather. - Course layout/design. Maybe the best part? It's very scenic and offers quite a variety of hole design. I'm a short hitter, so I take my driver out on pretty much all par 4's and 5's but golfers with more length need to consider their target before selecting a club, which is a good thing. - Kind of pricey for a municipal course but it plays and feels like a better non-muni. read more

Cobblestone is in incredible condition. The new superintendent has the course playing perfect. You be hard-pressed to find greens and you are better in the area and you definitely won't find better views with all the holes that are on the water. The layout of this course is amazing, each hole has tons of character, there's no gimmicky holes,just a great layout on a beautiful piece of land. I play on weekend mornings around 9am and the pace is always around 4 hours. They do a good job of keeping the pace on the course, I'm not sure will be like mid afternoon but I've never had a problem with long rounds out there. read more

Cobblestone golf course is located on Lake Acworth and I love it! I really give it 4 1/2 stars. If they ever redo their greens it will become a 5 star course. Depending on your ability, you can play from the white tee at 5,843 yards, the blues at 6,272 or from the tips at 6,759 yards! Unless your handicap is under 5 or you are a super long hitter, stick to the whites or blues. The course is quite a challenge as rarely will you have a perfectly level lie. That is if you stay in the fairway. From the tee you better take note or your tee shot will roll off the fairway. The greens are well protected so bring your short game. The greens are varied in their shape - these are not your typical round greens. The condition of the course was terrific and the pace was good. The weekend rate of $69 is in line with the other courses on the north side but might be too much to play real often, but they do offer an annual discount card. It looks real reasonable for Cobb County residents, not so much for us who don't. Great layout. Grab your sticks and play Cobblestone. read more

I come here occasionally to hit balls, scratch myself and fart with the guys. For a golf course in the suburbs the greens are kept up, there are beautiful views of the lake from many holes and the staff is helpful despite my cussing when I constantly miss the ball. I am not a golf person by an means and I tend to take naps when Golf comes on TV but for the sake of going to the Masters every year, I try to keep up with the "par and bogey" excitement of it all. read more

This used to be a really nice course. It's sad but it is in absolutely horrible condition. Giant patches of dirt on the tees, in the fairways and even on the greens. And I mean HUGE patches...on every hole. They are using fill dirt instead of sand for fixing divots. Really? The sand bunkers have grass growing in them. The putting has been closed for weeks because they're a no grass on it. I'll give it 2 stars because the views are still fantastic once you look past the actual golf course. I'll be listening for improvements because I won't be back to pay $50 to play here. read more

This review is directed to the business end of this golf course not the actual course. I recently purchased a gift card for a family member and since I live out of state they had to mail it to me. I was very surprised when I received the gift card along with 2 receipts of charges to my credit card. One in the amount I purchased to put on the card and the other for the cost of the $.49 stamp PLUS tax of $.03 on the stamp. Are you kidding me?!? I spent the amount I did to purchase a gift card and they couldn't even absorb the cost of the stamp to mail it to me. Charging tax on the stamp was more than ridiculous. The USPS doesn't even charge tax on postage stamps. Not sure in what world you live but this is very poor customer service! read more

Overall this is a very quality golf course with many challenging holes and a scenic layout around Lake Acworth. However, the condition of the tees and the greens make me frustrated as in both cases there are many times when you are hitting (or putting) off pure sand. I realize they had an "incident" with a few of their greens several years ago, but this should be resolved by now. Nonetheless, from tee to green i found the course to be in excellent shape and it continues to be a challenging course. While the blues may look "easy" at only 6,200 yds and change, there is nothing easy about a lot of the holes on this course because the greens are typically well guarded. And even a short hole like #16 at 125 yds is daunting when the lake is on your left the entire hole. read more

Doubt if I go back. Staff need to work on Customer Service. I was accused of "packing bricks" or something in my bag when the older gent loaded my bag on the cart. Not sure why he assumed I was trafficking beer or something to the course. Next at the tee box the starter told me that I should have at least hid the beer I did have in my cart since he knew they didn't sell that kind there and it was too early for beer sales. However I DID purchase it from the course. Just a very uncomfortable setting there. For that expensive green fee I would prefer better treatment to the golfers. Or better yet, ALL golfers!. read more
