2024 Maverick - better late than never.
Mark P.

The new leadership team at Fairway is continuing all the great things that have always been done, while working diligently to improve the consistency of service across all areas to make folks as delighted as possible. The last couple of years have been a challenge for all dealerships' supply chains. Fairway and Ford are getting it right. After 24Plus months I have received my Hybrid Maverick XLT and love it.

So about 12k mi ago my truck was still in warranty and I took it to Fairway Ford in Greenville, SC to get the cab mounts replaced under warranty. They told me the mounts were fine and wouldn't do the repair. Fast forward to today and the cab mounts are so rotted they are falling out. They booked me an appointment for 8am this morning. After waiting an hour and a half they came back and said "It'll be $3500 to replace the cab mounts and install a new track bar." I'm like: "Seriously?" They explained that the factory cab mount set is $800, that my bumper would have to come completely off and that all the wires and other nonsense (their words) would have to be cut or disconnected. (there's plugs on everything). The labor to do cab mounts is 12 hours and they wanted another thousand to take the bumper off (6 bolts and a couple plugs.) They also denied any assistance due to their incompetence of inspecting it while it was under warranty. I did ask if I did the track bar myself what they would charge to torque the bolt at the frame (450ft-lbs). Their response was: $115 I believe this will be the last time I waste my time going to Fairway Ford in Greenville, SC.

Left my car for its scheduled service- accidentally left my wallet in the center console and all my cash was gone when I came back.

The dealership area was very wishy washy when it came to the sell of my car. They showed interest in purchasing my vehicle & I was handed a print out stating I could come back when I was ready for them to actually purchase. I came back a week later with the paper and pretty much gave them the keys to my car & my title with no payment in hand. I was told he would be right back with the check as he walked out of the room. He came back in the room and informed me the owner wasent in yet & he would have to wait on him to come in and sign the check. Was told they would drop the check off to my job later that afternoon? After waiting 5-6 hours on the "owner to show up to the dealership to sign the check" ... I started speaking to other employees who informed me the owner does not have to be present and managers can sign checks. I eventually backed out of the sale because I felt very uneasy with all the different information. The manager came outside and apologized for the confusion & let me know the checks are usually not available until the next business day. I would've been fine with that if they told me that that morning as I waited around all day on it. Everyone I've ever met at Steve white has always been very nice & professional. I appreciated the manager coming outside and apologizing for his salesman's actions.

The problem is that they will not stop blasting my email as well as everyone in my contact list and then their contact list. Much like a highly infectious disease. No matter how many times I unsubscribe they will not stop blasting me with text messages and emails. This sounds like something, an elderly person might struggle with, however I am very tech fluent and I cannot get them to stop. I know it's a business model, but it's also very unprofessional and a rather slimy tactic. If you thought, Temu or Amazon was bad with promotional ads these guys take it to another level. Beware.

A standout employee-- Sales Manager MEGAN-- assisted us in the process. Megan was knowledgeable, professional, patient, and personable, taking time to answer all our questions. A month later, we found one of the tires had a bubble on the sidewall, and I wanted to see if the problem was covered under our service plan. I got frustrated navigating the "AI Assist" system, call trees, etc. So I finally called Megan, who explained the tire problem is not something our plan covers. While the outcome was not what I was hoping for, I still have to say THANK YOU to Megan for being accessible, remembering us, patiently listening to my problem, and taking time to explain WHY it's not covered. Personal customer service from people like Megan is the reason we shop at Carmax!

Mike met us in the parking lot and took us out for a ride. I was deciding between this car and another, so after the test drive we left. We decided that the Passport was the right car for me. We went back the next morning and were able to get a deal we were comfortable with for the car. Mike made the process as painless as he could. Then the process of picking out the added items was made easy by Jack. He pulled no punches when showing us the additional protections I could add to my purchase. I appreciated the way he got us through the contract and didn't try to upsell me on everything.

I've been driving over 45 years. Never had a vehicle do this once, not alone 2x on same van in such a short time. Can't even remove the key at this point. I went over there. Was a waste of time, sorry they don't warranty over a year. Then they send my a text message in April 2026 about some open recall. I responded how disgusted I was with the last service. They had someone text me back. They don't have enough info about my vehicle's current condition. Would I like to book an appointment? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! I had spoken to someone on the phone, went there and spoke to someone, and they don't have enough info??? Ya, I really want to book an appt and pay them again. No thank you. This was nothing more than a rip-off.

Coleman was great to work with on the sales side - he worked with me on the numbers and made coordinating with my transport carrier seamless. Our Pilot has approximately 21,000 miles, and the A/C suddenly stopped working. We brought it to Dick Brooks Honda and were told by Justin Dowling that the A/C clutch and coil need to be replaced. According to the repair order, the parts are currently "on backorder with no ETA." What was most disappointing wasn't that a part was backordered. We understand that parts shortages can happen. It was the response we received when asking what we were supposed to do in the meantime. We were given our vehicle back with no functioning A/C and essentially told by Justin that there was nothing they could do and that we would have to continue driving it until the parts became available. The loss of the A/C has also affected our ability to adequately defog the windshield in humid or rainy conditions, which creates a visibility concern while driving. This makes being told to simply continue driving the vehicle indefinitely without functioning A/C even more concerning. My husband called back and specifically asked to speak with management in hopes of finding another solution, especially since temperatures have been extremely hot and we have children who regularly ride in this vehicle. Unfortunately, management's response was still that there was nothing they could do and they trusted Justin's earlier assistance since he is the best in the service department. We weren't demanding anything unreasonable. We simply expected some effort toward a solution, whether that meant checking for the parts elsewhere even if they were not local, discussing a loaner or rental option (they told us that loaners/rentals were not an option), escalating the backorder through Honda, or otherwise helping a customer with a nearly new vehicle that is still under warranty. The lack of options was frustrating, but the lack of concern and effort to help is what was most disappointing. We have now had to escalate the matter directly with American Honda Customer Service and open a formal case ourselves. We also own a Toyota and have dealt with Toyota's service department on multiple occasions, and we have never been treated this way when dealing with a vehicle issue. The difference in the level of customer service and willingness to help has been very noticeable. This experience has seriously affected our confidence in returning to this dealership for future service or vehicle purchases.
